The HTP Inverarc 200 TLP has one of the smoothest arc's I have ever welded with. This was not a paid endorsement, this is simply the truth. You can see it in the coupons I welded, such a smooth machine that is ver versatile. My only real knock on the machine is that it is only 220. Not so much a problem for me but for some it might be problem.

How long is that discount good for? Also for a stick welder do you ever need a bigger machine like a 300 amp?

this unit has been replaced with a HTP INVERARC 160 PLUS - DUAL VOLTAGE and they have special for holiday priced at $450 I order and OMG I love it !!
Jim you should also try a Fronius MV180 made in Austria,, I have one and it runs very well, it also does pulse stick and also is dual voltage. the duty cycle is comparable with the HTP . It weighs in at 19 lbs

Wow that little welder is really expensive, but if you weld for a living it’s probably worth it.

I get it - all kidden aside - for a hobbyist who welds twice a month in his garage - its a lot of money
Keep in mind it will scratch Tig and can use a foot pedal too.

On 6010 your arc force was pretty high that is why your welding amps were pretty high and the slag released easy.

I was going to buy one, but they decreased the duty cycle due to issues. 100% @ 115 Amps since 2yrs or so.

I'm looking for a great stick welder. What's the best out there that will last years with the extra features like hot start and a smoooth arc. I'm looking at the fronius transporter 180 or the HTP 200 or any other welder I should consider? Awesome vid.
Thanks for watching JFF490SS, I have used a lot of small stick welding machines, The htp 200 inverarc is the best. The down fall is that it is 220 only. It is not duel voltage. Witch is fine with me. Jimbo!

I was going to buy the Inverarc 200 TLP until I came to realize they decreased the duty cycle 2yrs ago from 45% @ 200 amps to 10% @ 200 Amps, but never bothered to correct their downloadable user manual. Could no longer justify the purchase.
Sorry you feel that way, I don't know about the manual i have never looked at it. I use 1/8'' electrodes at 120 - 140 amps all day long and it doesn't even phase it. It works perfectly! Maybe if you plan on using 3/16'' electrodes for any length for time you might have a problem. Jimbo
As of right now they did upload the correct manual. I'm not sure when it happened, but they did eventually get to it. It's still a badass machine.

Jimbo Hello from a long tome welder. Going on 30 years doing the cross country grind, but am now working on setting up my home shop to do small projects. I am looking for American made using American materials, and labor. Looking for a mig/tig/stick set up, but have not had any luck. Does any American co. make welders any longer? To me this is a big ticket item, and I feel these import countries will be the end of us if we do not change our ways. If I cannot find one American made, I will just do my best to build one myself.

After considering the options, I am just going to go with a miller 252 mig. I have used miller and know they are a good machine. Might get an everlast at a latter date.
HTP is really making the best built machines out right now it seems. I wonder if you tried something crazy with that machine and all the different settings it has like aluminium or cast iron? Wonder if it could do it?

pardon ... would you recommend this inverarc 200 tlp over the Fronius tranpocket 180 for mobile work? seems like the only down side to the inverarc 200 tlp is the 220 only where as the Fronius tranpocket 180 can run on 110,220,230 and comes with all the cables and can functions on 110v 300 feet from the outlet. i want the pulse stick feature. seems the tranpocket 180 is less expensive especially if I can cash in on the 300 discount. any thoughts?

Long as you never need 110 volt power yes. Dual voltage has made me $ though being I don't have a generator.

Come on Jimbo, put that up against a comparable Everlast, then talk about price difference, and then does the HTP have a 5 year warranty? Just want to see a spade compared to a spade, that’s all.
you come and weld with it and check out the arc dynamic ! and yes - granted - for the price segment that everlast is in their stick arc is on the upper end of the range !!! i give them that !!! but than you put this htp up against a miller max start 210 for over $2400 ...... (that does not even have pulse) and you get a 1/2 off deal ... i guess it is all a matter of how you look at things
ZILA dual voltage is a huge benefit for portability if that ever matters.
loadpin I don’t trust Everlast, because while they advertise a 5 year warrantee, it’s a real problem getting them to honor it. With all the guys being given Everlast machines, and having to sign clauses to not criticize it, you can’t tell anything from You Tube videos as to how good the machines really are. Read the forums to see the many problems the company has.
I can reiderate on that Zila on the Everlast stick arcs! Probably the best welding arc I have seen. Surprises everyone that has seen mine. The Everlast 200 ST is such an animal. The amount of jobs I have done with mine over the last 3 yrs. Wow! Paid itself off the first job. Nothing but profit. Never an issue.

To me the better solution is the HTP Invertig 221 Machine. It does everything this does plus high frequency start and AC for aluminum and you get all of that for only $1000 more than this machine which is limited to stick and scratch start tig which sort of sucks compared to a fully capable TIG/Stick machine

SATAMAN Schmidt yes and no. I get your point. 14 lbs vs 50 lbs .... that is also a portability question .... then the 221 hot start and arc force are fixed - here they are fully adjustable! Up to 40% hot start and up to 200% in ARC and up to 500% arc force in CEL .... hands down - it is MY personal favorite for everybody service calls .....
and although the stick arc on the 221 is at least good maybe great - this guy here the arc is EXCELLENT !!!
It really cant be captured in a spec sheet .... YOU have to experience it first hand !
Sataman - The Invertig is awesome I own one but the TLP has a lot more control for stick then the 221 does. It’s geared around stick and Dc only machine even tho it can run AC rods . You can change arc force and other settings independently that the 221 won’t. Both are fantastic machines. Do you own the 221?

This is a portable stick machine that will TIG. That's the purpose. The 221 is a shop TIG machine that will stick. You're not going to be throwing a 221 in the back of your truck every morning.

A bit too commercial for your big fans like me. And stick welding for me is worst process in welding.
For someone who says they have been welding for so long, you have a lot of undercut in some of your welds. Wouldn't pass QC in my shop.
