Thanks for presenting this very good video. I esp. liked the far off shot of the train at the end. The railroad is the technology on which all others pivoted.
Look me up if you tackle the Jim Bridger Trail. There's some remaining history on the surface that can be traced to a wagon wreck at the Devil's Backbone near Bridger Butte in the Bighorn Basin.
Good video. I love tales of Wyoming. My mom's side of my family stopped somewhere in Wyoming on there way west and homesteaded for around 15 years. I listened to many stories from my Uncle's but cannot remember where in Wyoming. They were horsemen that would buy quarter horse stallions at auction. They would then heard mustang's into canyons, shoot the wild stallions and release the domestic stallions. I don't know how much truth was in the stories but for a 12 year old kid they were larger than life.
Good story, Ive spent many an hour catching trout at Pathfinder Reservoir. Lazy man fishing, sitting on shore with a beverage in my hand waiting for a baited line to start hopping. The natives of North America were in the right place at the wrong time, civilization overtook them and as the US got settled they were the odd man out. Its happened the world over in every nook and cranny on this rock so it wasnt like the white man did anything wrong. People have often had to adapt to survive but unfortunately for the natives they were not willing to adapt. We would all like to roam around on a horse, moving with the seasons, hunting and fishing and living the life of Riley but that just isnt reality. As settlement continued and technology increased it sped up the process and the natives fought a losing battle. When a nation is claimed, and settled, it often involves pain and hardship, and great sacrifice. The only thing different with America was it being the most recent in recorded history so naturally emotions still run high on the subject. And at its core this land has been changing hands for thousands of years no matter if those hands were white or not. Natives killed other natives. Took land, and hunting spots. And slaves. Endless cycle. Now its just some guy at the bank taking it all.
another very interesting segment of an incredible story. thanks
Great story and great storytelling.

Good yarn.
Fremont was nothing without Kit Carson.
