- Sometimes as a watch enthusiast we must make the tough decision of “which watch do I keep of these two?” That was the case with the Christopher Ward C65 Trident GMT and the Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer GMT. Both of them are GMT’s, both about the same size and price point. I decided to keep one, but which one? Which one would you have kept?
This is a mini review of both of the watches, the pros and cons. I own them both, so this is an unbiased opinion. I hope you enjoy! Please put your comments below on which one you would have kept!

I guess I’m very lucky. I own both all be it my Hamilton has the red pointer. I use the Hamilton more as a pilots watch - I fly general aviation from the UK whereas I travel abroad, commercial with the CW. Both are fantastic watches at great value!
Wow that’s pretty awesome you own both! As a pilot I bet it’s a great travel companion (Hamilton) that’s awesome 👏
great and interesting video as always! i really like that Hamilton. haven't seen it before!
It’s a really unique watch. The “latter” version has a little red on the “T2” (I think the arrow or type, I can’t recall) just in case you are ever in the market! Thanks for watching 👍
Exactly the comparison I came here for. Thumbs up!
Thank you!!
I will go for Hamilton.. in fact i was looking for this Navy GMT. Thanks for the video.
You are welcome, getting harder to find
I love the Hamilton, such a cool looking watch. Its next on my list
It’s super slick. I wish my over 50 eyesight wasn’t so horrible
I have had a hamilton khaki king for avout a year and just about to get a CW trident pro 300 bronze cant wait
CW 300 bronze? That is one damn nice watch 👍👍
Excellent video & great descriptions of each watch! Heck….I would keep both of them!! 😊
Haha, I KNOW you would! Thanks for the comments! 😃
Well, both are nice. I have the same CW and I love how it wears and hugs the wrist. The Hammy dial is a bit busy for me but it is a unique piece. Never seen one before. I have a hammy pilot air race though.
CW is very underrated Imo…I love mine too! Which air race reference do you own?
Little late from post date, but which one did you keep? Owner of several Hamiltons including a couple khaki dual crowns, no question which one I would have kept.
I kept the CW, the build quality is really second to none for the price point!
I feel that the Christopher Ward C65 delivers a bit more "bang for the buck" I no longer own a mechanical GMT watch. The last one I had was a Sinn 857 Lufthansa. I do currently have a C65 Dartmouth and a C63 Sealander Elite. The C65 Dartmouth has a similar (maybe identical,) case and crown but with a screw-down crown. The bezel is extremely smooth and positive to operate. All in all, it is a delightful watch to wear and look at. I do have the newer, quick adjust bracelet but most often wear it on a lighter strap. I find the fit and finish to be more to my taste than the Hamiltons I have owned. I'm quite a bit older than you and bumped up against presbyopia much longer ago. So readers are part of my daily uniform. It's all so subjective!!! You and I also share an affinity for the Citizen Ray Mears Promaster!
Melvin, thank you for your comments! I have to agree, the build quality for the CW is pretty outstanding. I have always wanted to try the Dartmouth as well as I am a big sucker for military inspired watches! I am not looking forward to readers being part of my daily uniform, but my wife is already there! My nephew has my Rey Mears and he wears it every day!
Thanks for this amazing video
I would like to ask you a question, why there is some models of khaki H77615333 with title (Swiss made ) near the no 6 ,and other has no ?
Is it related to be real vs fake one ?
Because on the official website of Hamilton , this watch has no title ( Swiss made )on its face 🤔
Wow, that is a great question. And I wasn’t aware of any fakes. I guess the good news is the caseback is see through and you can clearly see the ETA movement. That’s a plus!
wearing one right now! a diff model though- H77505535. also got a cw dartmouth which wears better for me because of the hammys ridiculously long lugs..
good reviews as always!
Min, I’ve always wanted the Dartmouth. That’s a great find!
For me, would keep the Hamilton...its definitely an original design and so many items to tinker with. And i am near to my 50s and my eyesight is completely opposite of you. 😆
I am Jealous!! Eyesight lol
Sorry to say I've never Heard of Christopher Ward before
😱
Aside from not liking the name because of some cocky driver I find the Hamilton too busy. On the other hand I dislike the Pepsi bezel😅
Haha well….ditch them both!
@@threehandhunter I’m thinking about a Aquitaine but wish they’d make a green bronze version.
just bought a hamilton jazzmaster automatic chronograph in gold and l went wtih the hamilton navy khaki (yours) but with metal strap.
These are my first mechanical swiss watches, what do you think? (used, in good condition, full box for 900eur both)
I think that’s a great deal!!
Hamilton looks better. I’m a newb to watches though is the CW a better watch? It just looks generic.
I think the CW is made better. The fit is better (for me) but the Hamilton has a lot more provenance as a watch maker. And this design is indeed unique 👍
👍
do the khakis still fog up?
not this one, but I hear the field ones do.
Is hamilton a better brand?
Better known? Yes. Better in quality? Hard to say imo. I think comparable in my experience
Hamilton
Great choice!
