  • Ethan Klein interview where he says life is too short to exercise and that exercise is a conspiracy.
I present a study that shows the value fitness and exercise has on your longevity. It is quite literally a magic bullet.

I was actually doing hamstring curls while watching this video 🤣
And folks like The Bioneer say to do little bits of strength, cardio, or mobility exercises while doing other things. You can do calf raises while brushing your teeth or or work on your grip while watching tv. (You know, if you are not walking on a treadmill like you suggested!)
    It’s not that hard.
Maybe he’s never gone on a hike or done a walking tour while on vacation. He can’t do those things without exercise. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Low to moderate exercisers live the longest. Elite athletes live shorter lives.

That is a very broad statement. It totally depends on how you define elite. If we use the definition from this GIANT peer reviewed study, your comment is inaccurate. There are so many co factors to unpack in each case. Many elite athletes are taking a plethora of PEDs which impact longevity. And longevity in isolation is a poor metric of success. I have far many patients that are alive in their 80's but aren't actually living. Great comment that can lead to a ton of dialogue

@@MovementProjectPT "Blue zones populations don't specifically “exercise,” they simply naturally move every 20 minutes or so." They live well into their 100s.
Okinawans lived the longest. Okinawan centenarians sit and get up from the floor dozens or hundreds of times per day. This exercises their legs, back, and core in a natural way as they get up and down all day long. Sitting on the floor also improves posture and increases overall strength, flexibility, and mobility.
Not one study shows elite athletes lived the longest.
