That's Radical! It's amazing to see how a decent bootleg (oddly started with Mario (named Somari) as protagonist) gets improved so many times to the point of becoming a homebrew game and no longer a bootleg. I would love to see an evolution of Mega Man II (Game Boy) from the original Game Boy from its updated Game Boy Color version. Here's the list of the versions: Game Boy (1991) Game Boy (Music Improvement) (2019) This hack fixes the broken off-key and high pitched music of the original. This hack managed to give to the players a positive note. Game Boy (Music Improvement V2) (2022) This hack completely changes the music with a new one. Despite it says that the hack was made for the JP version, it's 100% compatible with the US version, so you can use it for the US version as fine. Game Boy Color (Mega Man World 2 GBC) (2023) This hack, not only completely changes the music again, but it also converts the game from Game Boy to Game Boy Color and fix some oddities that the original has. Mega Man II for the Game Boy was always a strange, but interesting, case because it was developed by a total different developer with, sadly, poor results. The game is notorious for the soundtrack that due to poor acknowledge of the developer is broken.
First off, never thought I'd see a new video this soon so suddenly. Let alone this early in the morning. Second, it's crazy that even with all these revisions and making this bootleg feel more official than ever before... they still couldn't get it to where you could get through that one loop in Green Hill with ALL the rings in one go like you normally could in the official games.
Pretty neat - but it’s ultimately just lipstick on a pig, since most of the game’s fundamental bullshit factor is intact (poor controls, offscreen enemies firing, etc)
Lo mas interesante es como evolucionó tanto graficamente como en gameplay, corrigiendo el audio (tan pesimo) por uno de mejor calidad casi al nivel de la versión de master system Y creo que saldrá una 2.1 con mejoras superiores
I think a more appropriate console for this is the Atari 7800, more color than the NES, and better sprite capabilities. The final version does look, and sound great on the NES. I really hope someone does this for the 7800 as well.
That is if someone can utilize the 7800 hardware well, because while it sounds way better than the nes on paper, it has its own disadvantages like worse performance for using high resolution and high colors, hard to get good scrolling, and of course it’s base sound chip is rubbish compared to to the nes, but can be enhanced with chip expansions. And of course the game will look quite differently on the 7800 either way, due to how its graphics are drawn.
@@Turbulation1 I don't think the high resolution is necessary, as I have seen games that look just fine at the lower res mode with more color. Scrolling might be a challenge, but I'm sure bi-directional scrolling could be done smoothly, as many devs have said scrolling on the 7800 is very easy to do. I just wanna see what a high effort version of sonic on the 7800 would look like!
If The Physics Issues Can Be Ironed Out And The Levels Replaced With Recreations Of The Sonic 1 Levels, It Has Been Entirely Converted From Somari To Sonic The Hedgehog.
It's awesome seeing Sonic Vol. 2 on the NES getting better every update!
It's crazy how fans transformed the rather poorly made bootleg of a classic into something that feels official.
What I want to know is WHY
Except the physics are still not good
The SEGA logo and the Master System-esque SFX are amazing.
just wow , i m astonished bravo ! last version and the 2016 music improvment is a big jump
Funny enough, they just released a newer version: “Vol.2 (V1.6)”
Wow
What a beautiful Somari when I was a kid
Someone PLEASE give Sonic a variable jump. The worst part of this game is his fixed (one) jump height.
Still that one damn ring on the loop lol! Jokes aside, this is one hell of a glow up

Surprise, they will soon release version 1.6 and that bug has already been fixed
@doxdalmata8484 Well here's hoping we see that for ourselves here at some point.
The Final One is a bit Similar to the SMS Version but the layout is Sonic 1 Sega genesis Version
Is this ultimate version able to run on a NES without a special cart? The music is awasome.
Probably.
Not sure what kind of special cart you're talking about though.

Actually, Somari came out in 1996-7 (technecly 95 with the prototype leak) and came out as "Sonic the hedgehog" in 1999

But still, Genesis (Mega Drive) still does what Nintendon't.
Until someone makes a version for SNES.
ejemmmm ua-cam.com/video/DlrxKECsogE/v-deo.html this video is 4 years old
@@engroga pretty sure someone did that in like 2016 - 2018 I don't remember
@@engrogayes someone made sonic for the SNES, yes it only has GHZ act 3 but it's a proof of concept
the SNES has been proven to be able to run Sonic the Hedgehog lol

holy moly😯
Genesis does what Nintendon't.
Nintendo: wanna bet?

To be honest, the bootleg is TRASHY & JANKY anyways!
