Take Me Home is the most appropriate title for this song. I’m at elementary school librarian so that means every week I see every single student in my building during library classes. When practicing lockdown drills with all 26 of my classes, I stress to my kids that they can trust me to keep them safe because at the end of every day, I’m going home. If I go home, they go home. Unless you’re a teacher, you cannot comprehend what it is like to practice lockdown drills with students ages 5 - 12 and looking at their faces when you are convincing them to listen to you and trust you to keep them safe so that they can go home.
I teach 3 year olds and we practice lockdowns with them. I hate that we have to but I will do anything to make sure everyone in my classroom goes home.

I've learned that homeschooling can teach them more by being outside, active, learning everyday life and even learning to do taxes and things like that. I pray every child goes home to their parents. It's both the school system and the government system, they do not care. Still should have something done about that too, it's equally as important.

What an important song. I know that this happens more than here in my country hear in the news about. Where I live, thankfully, we don't have this problem but, we hear the news and as a high school teacher myself, breakes me. As a mom I'm in constant fear for my children. And as a teacher i feel the need to protect my students as they are my own. No matter how long ago I have taught them.

I’m not even a parent yet and I’m literally ugly crying. This is horrible that this is our reality in America. Someone needs to do something. I’m not old enough to do anything but when I am I’m going to try my hardest to somehow make a difference and change this. I was in a lockdown in 8th grade and omg it was the most terrifying experience. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. This country needs to do better!

This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. I live in New Zealand, and this hasn't really happened here, but we have had lockdowns, etc. at Schools because of things happening around the area. Our gun laws are a lot tighter here, but that doesn't mean this couldn't ever happen here.
