I disagree with the sheriff’s comment. Some things just don’t always need to be said. ❤
I disagree with the sheriff. I know a deputy's life was taken which is horrible and evil. But no one in turn should want a human to die.

This sheriff is over the top & he’s just showboating. I certainly wouldn’t want him representing or protecting me with his attitude…he’s full of himself & seems to me like an authoritative figure that has let the power granted him go to his head!
What hatred this sheriff has! They should never allow him to speak like that. Taking a life NEVER brings back a life. It just destroys another family. I am not minimizing the Moyers family’s pain or sorrow, not at all. I just think this Sherrif should never be allowed to stir up hate and vengeance like he has done. To make a statement that you would want to eat popcorn at the death of someone while that person is clearly taking full responsibility for this crime, is just wicked, unprofessional and I bet if it was his son, or nephew or brother, and someone said that, he would be up in arms!
Patrick McDowell made his decision to be put to death for taking the life of Deputy Moyers. Mr. Chipperfield and associates put on an excellent defense to try to save their clients life. I live in Nassau County and the comments of Sheriff Leeper were a surprise and totally out of character for him. The senseless murder of Deputy Moyers affected all of us deeply, but a persons execution, no matter how well deserved, should never be celebrated. Prayers for the Moyers family that they find some measure of peace.
Sheriff has the right to say and feel the way he wants to about the man who murdered his friend and co-worker. No one has the right to judge anyone for how they grieve.
