Love this video! I also live in Alaska, and my wife and I enjoy spending our summers out on the boat on PWS and Resurrection Bay. I’ve watched this video multiple times now, which helps manage the boating itch that strikes me so hard over the winter. I’d love to see more of your PWS adventures!
I like to clam the opposite shore of Cooke inlet from Ninilcik for Razor clams. In AK they can be up to 8” long. OR and WA a big one is maybe 5” or 6”. Plus AK Razor clams seem to be sweeter. You used to be able to clam the Ninilcik side. I don’t remember why they stopped it. After I get my share of razor clams, it is off for a few guided days of salmon fishing each month. I like to stock up on salmon and cold and hot smoke them. Some years I have gotten over a 100 lbs to fill my freezer. Yum! Fresh clam chowder…yum!
Spot shrimp like mud. A NOAA chart has the bottom type moted on the charts with the soundings. I think Garmin allows you to download NOAA charts to your plotter. Halibut prefer flat gravel shelfs. For bottom fish look for pinnacles coming up from the bottom. Nice boat. Did you anchor out and stay on the boat? We do a lot of fishing and cruising in SE Alaska. Also navigated Vancouver Island. The west side is absolutely stunning. Great salmon fishing the later part of July thru August. Sitka, Juneau, Kake and Craig in SE Alaska are good base points as they have docks. Places like Kake and Craig, its a good idea to call ahead of time to make sure they have fuel as their fuel shipment times can vary. Also there are so many small Islands you can always escape from the wind, anchor up, have dinner and spend the night. Baranof Island has a large population of Brown Bears. If you get a chance go to Hydaburg on Prince of Whales Island. They are famous for their totem poles and make Totem Poles for people all over the world. If you can get some dock space at Elfin Cove its a short trip to Glacier Bay. Access to Glacier bay is by permit only. It takes about 3 summers to see all there is to see in SE Alaska. Another fun trip is to circumnavigated Haida Gwaii. We circumnavigated Moresby Island in 2018. Their are many Native American out post located around the Island. You can cross Queen Charlotte Sound Via Port Rupert. Sandspit has a fairly decent dock and the lodge located near the marina will prep and freeze your catch. The marina also has fuel. Before making the trip thru Skidgate Narrows I recommend following the guides thru a couple of times so you feel comfortable going thru on your own. The West side if the Island is spectacular. Excellent salmon and lingcod fishing. Good luck in your future travels.

Great video. We did Blackstone Glacier on one of our trips. Our new puppy Charli was watching, too. Have clip of her watching, just need to figure out how to attach it. I think she's in love with Sophie.
We had a very hard time trying to find these due to the size of the tubing. We don’t remember the brand but we purchased at a marine store in Anchorage, LFS Marine Supply.
