Good luck with your new -(-ish) NYC loco. I got an Atlas Santa Fe GP30 (Kato Manufactured) For £16.50 on Ebay just last week. It came in it's original box and arrived four days after purchase! Runs beautifully and it's great. Good hauling capacity too. So pleased with it. It's DC, and has no room for a decoder, but as I don't do DCC that's okay. As a Running loco, it's perfect and looks terrific in use.
I hope the NYC F unit works for you. They had a pretty cool paint scheme as well. It doesn't surprise me that there would be so many SP locos on the market as one of the premier fallen flags. As for the troop kitchen car, I did a live stream of the Arkansas RR Museum and took everyone inside one to see what it was about. Take care! - Jason
All those listings for High Speed locos on eBay made buying SP locomotives really frustrating for me when I was shopping there. I did find an Atlas GP-9 in SP Black Widow colors, which I was quite happy with and still have (don't run it now that I've switched to DCC).
Not an N-scale main, but I do have that Western Maryland Troop Kitchen car. I would recommend avoiding it unless one plans on switching out the trucks. The trucks provided are flimsy and the plastic wheels do not like to rotate in them or just prefer to just fall out completely.
I have a lot of the WW2 troop sleepers and troop kitchen cars as well as troop hospital cars in N Scale in a bunch of side numbers and there are some with Western Maryland RR markings too! They were/are produced by Micro Trains and have pretty good detail.
You are so crazy. It is a pleasure listening to you. That was an interesting show. I have used ebay in the uk in the past. I wish I could have seen prices as low as those. I may have to investigate shipping costs from the USA.
I recently bought an entire lot of g scale trains for on $400 and considering it had 3 locomotives that is an amazing deal however one of the locomotives had a damaged motor block but I can probably find somebody who can make new gears
Hi Jimmy. What rail types in N scale are best to use, and what can be used together by Fleischmann, Pico, Roco, Trix. Or is it best to use the same type? What are you suggesting? Have bought some used rolling stock, both locomotives and wagons, also rails. Going to switch from analogue operation to digital control, There are many different ones on the market, read a bit about digitrax, what do you think?
Beware white box Bachmann. Newer Bmann in the two piece boxes are a much better bet, but white box was in the infamous gear splitting era. A lot of the newer stuff, especially steam, is quite good.
Yes Jimmy yrs ago I had to set I. The circle tell everyone my name then admit I had an Addiction problem..That's kool oh that's kool too oh oh yah Gotta have THAT 1 ..BTW IM not totally cured...:-)
They were special gifts that Readers Digest gave to their subscribers several years ago and they are total display units. There were several cars in the set, but none of them will function on an N Scale track. DISPLAY ONLY! Not worth their weight in any valuable minerals. I have some of them and if they get on my layout, they will be in the background area.
Yea those "high speed" dummies are part of the daily feed from my "n scale dummy" eBay feed. They really should not have given their magazine subscribers those 😒

I have to admit I have done exactly the same thing. Especially when I was working from home.
Now I have so much that it can not all fit on my layout.

Anyone in the Kansas City and Johnsom County Kansas area, there is a train show the weekend on Dec 3rd at the Covention Center in Overland Park!!
35 SP's!you can do a prototypical funeral power move or a dead end storage. It's a thing
🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋
Looking forward to the update. Good Luck.

The NYC Hudson you came across that was missing the shell was mine. It sold over the weekend. Haha
I can see why! If you can find the shell for it. That is one sweet locomotive!
I had a complete one that I listed at the beginning of the year. It sold in less than 30 minutes. Beautiful locomotive and very smooth runner.

I've got the Southern Mikado 2-8-2 in Z Scale by Marklin!
Look forward to seeing you do a video on the DCC conversion for the loco.

I like C-8 grading. My OCD dislikes anything lower on the scale.
Thanks for the good info, so what does it mean when trains say "graded per TCA standards C-7"?

What about places to sell your equipment?
eBay, model train forums, facebook train forums, train shows
Your thinking is going well 🫶👍🤘🏻
Interesting what trains are used in other countries
I do not know what an SP High Speed Diesel is, I have never seen them before.
