yay thank you! I found one of these models underwater yesterday. Movement is dead, bezel is corroded but it looks ok. going to transfer the dial to a donor movement and get it going again :)
Hi Dan...always a pleasure seeing these watches serviced and restored. Quick question about the hour and minute hands on the 6105: are these "service hands"? I've looked all over the internet trying to research what they look like and why a watch would have them, but haven't really found a definitive answer.
Yes, I would say that these are service hands. Probably 6139 hands that were put on by someone in the past, but certainly authentic Seiko. It looks good to me. A lot of the time, service centers or indy's would get what was available, and since the 6105 went out of production in the mid-70's, there may not have been hands available when service happened. I really like the gabled hand look on these.
Maybe the owner changed the date at the so-called prohibited time between 9:00 pm and 4:00 am in which you should not mess with the complication of the date. Would it be this? These plastic parts break if the recommendation is not followed. One question: I have a Prospex 4r36 diver. So that I'm not always unscrewing the crown to wind it in the morning (I take the watch off to sleep), how long should I shake the watch slightly to wind it completely in the morning? Since my work (office) doesn't get too busy during the day? Nice videos allways man. Thx 👍👍
@@BlairWatchProject Yes, 41 hours for 4R36. I have several watches and I took the test. I accelerated at maximum (I turned the crown manually 70x) ...I didn't move the clock anymore until it stopped, and the clock stopped after 46 hours !!!!! Thank you for the advice. More videos are expected...✌️

Thank you for watching. You shouldn’t need to wind the 4R since it has a substantial power reserve.

Seiko stopped fully producing them in Japan in 1982.
