"We play so loud, that all the amps couldn't take it. Now we got......these amps...that they.....they can really....they....they.............work." Made me laugh so hard I about fell out of my chair.
I remember the very first time hearing the Ramones I was inclined to laugh a little sort of a giggle and then I couldn't shake the song out of my head and realized they touched on something I'm the one who was touched right in the cerebellum
goes to show how strong the early rock n roll roots were. the ramones brought back that sound to a new generation and put a new twist on it but thats classic 50s rock no matter how you slice it.
Me levanto me acuesto escuchando esta terrible banda aguante the ramones son los mejores sin dudas ,, Activan todo con su energia los admiro mucho y que sea punk yeahhh
Seriously? You bought their 'greatest hits' album (last week, well 5 weeks ago) and now you have the Punk Rock 'spirit'? Better late than never, I suppose..... Don't get me wrong, The Ramones were one of the greatest bands ever, but how about Black Flag? Sex Pistols? Bad Brains? Minor Threat? Dead Kennedys? The Clash? The Stooges (mentioned in the video)? Misfits? The Damned? Rancid? Stiff Little Fingers????.... The list goes on and on..... The Ramones kick started the Punk scene in the US and rightly deserve every accolade that can be bestowed on them..
@@craigmager5360 Right on dude. Those punk bands are all awesome. A few months ago, I went to the mall in Billings Montana and I brought The Ramones shirt along with The Misfits shirt and The Misfits necklace and now I'm waiting to pick up the shirt of Rancid and I'm a die hard Rancid fan. The next two punk rock cds I can't wait to pick also are The General Strike by Anti-Flag and Under Attack by The Casualties.
My reasons that the Ramones aren't "The Biggest Band in the world" After End of the Century (By Phil Spector), they had about a decade of albums that were produced by Producers that simply could not grasp their concept. Again, after "Century", they should have released "It's Alive". Most importantly, they were decades ahead of their time. They were the innovators. And yes, this looking back in retrospect.
Honestly the only thing Hilly really did was let bands play at CBGB's and the only reason he did was because Terry Ork (the manager of the band Television) convinced him by gauranteeing that Hilly would be able to double the his bars profits. Other than letting the bands play there Hilly didn't do much at all
He fostered a scene by requiring original music at a moment in time where there was no club-level place to play non cover music. Hilly's influence on punk continued into the 80s an CBs was home to nyXhc- Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Murphy's Law, Sick of It All, and more.
Actually,he did it because in those days if you had club with cover bands you had to pay a yearly fee to the music publish group, having new bands play new& original music was a way around this
One of the greatest bands of all time!
