Turned evil?
For killing citizens of his territory, severely injurying one of his wards, AFTER he saved her life and was literally going to let her have premium weapons, lodging, and food?
This is the least evil I've ever seen.
She got off lucky as far as I'm concerned.

This wasn't evil. This was righteous fury.

This is why you should always fear the anger of a patient man.
Morality is a fickle thing. The eye for an eye mentality doesn't truly bring peace. As he said himself, getting vengeance did not make him feel any better. At the end of the day all this 'righteous fury' means is that more people are dead and the cycle of violence will continue.

Wrong. When the truly violent people are dead, the violence stops, because most people aren't violent for no reason. Violently remove the ones who are the reason for the violence, and boom, no more violence.
Example: murderous asshole breaks into my house intent on doing harm. I shoot the mofo. He's dead. Now there is no more violence, because I'm not going to now go and shoot my neighbors, BECAUSE I'M NOT A VIOLENT PERSON. But murderous asshole, had he not been met with violence and successfully killed me, might very well have gone on to the neighbor's house and murdered them too, because HE'S A VIOLENT PERSON.
@@spamhere1123 Violence begets violence. We see here that someone who had never deliberately killed someone before did so now without hesitation because they hurt someone close to them. How do you know that the person you killed didn't have loved ones who might be provoked because of your actions? If they ended up killing you in revenge then do you have someone that would avenge you? Hence the cycle.
honestly anime need more of a character like this. like not inherently evil, but can be and will if needed. most anime protagonist are so extreme. either extremly good (borderline naive) or so evil (looking at you redo of healer)

I wouldn't say the protag of redo is evil. Considering what he went through anyone would break. That he turned out the way he did is purely a product of what he has been through.
Tbh he never did really act like that in novel just being push around even after get his finger cut off

Well he did cut her harm first so he had sadistic thought. But i'm bias cause i dislike characters who are goof ball most of the time and 5 sec late they go in a killing spree against people's obviously 1.000.000 time weaker.
Technically, not evil but more like "I'm sick of this nice shit. Time to fear me!" Kind of thing. Good clip still

@@robertadams5188 more like the type of person you should mostly fear is a nice and kind person, take anything they love from them and they will body you without even thinking twice. a little quote i love to tell from times to times from Clarence Darrow: "It’s not bad people I fear so much as good people. When a person is sure that he is good, he is nearly hopeless; he gets cruel- he believes in punishment."
To clear something up he is not crying for the fact that he killed he is crying because of the orc that was killed although he was uncomfortable killing someone at that time (source tsuki ga michibiku web nov.)
The manga also detailed that he was crying for the fragment that was killed because of his poor planning due to his lack of understanding this world'd human nature.
@@chemislife i think it was also because he realized his warped sense of life. when his dog dies he literally felt nothing. and that never changed. his seemed to be born without the emotion to care for life. in the real sense. he can understand life is precious but if its not a human then he feels nothing.

Just suddenly remembered that he wasn't speaking in hyuman language, that just upped how terrifying it was for the girl from this world. A (for them) ugly hyuman, speaking in a demi human language and just walking towards you with a knife and dead eyes.
Oh it's even worse then that. They where transitioning from the living plane to the dead and he killed her a SECOND TIME. The man literally killed a dead person he was so angry.

he cant speak it(only understand it) only does his little word typing thing, he didnt care at that moment if he spoke her language or if she could understand him, he was treating her less than a hyuman like she treated the demihumans
Fun fact if you read the manga, there are two outlines around the language of demihumans speech bubble because they are speaking in their language, there is only one outline around human language. When the MC tells that lady goodbye he was speaking in the human language. The rest was in demihuman
This scene is so unsettling, I love it
Seeeeee, that is good animation, in the novel so much feeling is transmited through Makoto's mind and in the manga is made justice but this, this is what you do to animate those feelings, that walk and the dead eyes... learn from this western animators!! Japan needs competition to turn even better, is not fun to be alone in the top.
its not just the walk and eyes tho, the change in his smile really drove the anger through for me
Don't forget the seiyuu! This anime really bring the most top-notch seiyuus in industry right now! The way Natsuki Hanae (also the seiyuu of Tanjirou from Kimetsu no Yaiba) voicing him just spotted on and makes things twice more awesome! But it's just a bit sad that the anime kinda rushing in the end and skipping a lot of details.

@ire9470 No but justice was done. Know that this is a world where the goddess in charge of this world would have laughed seeing Makoto's friends suffer and die. She would have hugged that woman for her misdeeds, not punished her. Nothing good happened, but justice was done. It may have been merciless, but it was done.
Given what that woman and her friends did I don't think his response was evil at all.

Dude read the manga from the beginning, you'll love it so much, I binge read the hell out of it.
That dead-eyed walk up to the adventurer, hoooo boy, chilly.
it says that extreme rage are not expres in screams or crazynes, but it's express in a total and unnatural calm.
And the next clip: two legendary adventurers who betrayed their race think they are strongest in the world constatnly mocking our protagonist and get a reality check.

See this is how you sell to the audience that the MC has lost all fucks and has decided you shouldn't exist anymore. The team that did Spirit Chronicles episode 7 would have benefited from some of the visual effects used here.

@@somegalulbad642 The fact he was forced to remember his mother's death when he looked at the scene he walked into was enough to trigger it in the LN. Though when he meets the man that actually killed her I would imagine even the reaper of death would run in fear.

@@Thranotheoneandonly It's more the visual effects communicating his anger that I really liked. Yes he killed her quick (I agree too quick) but they did a perfect job selling his anger.

Hm id recommend reading the novel he really isnt an edgy mc at all. He just wants to be a merchant and only kills people that want to kill him.
I really like this MC hes super human like. Not too much on the edgy side not too much on the push over side. He for example got depressed after a more experienced merchant beat his business. He doesn't really enjoy killing or fighting. He just becomes a medicine merchant.and he doesn't ever want to stay in this world. He constantly wants to return to his own world and considers the values of this world to be trash

I feel like this was some kind of foreshadowing of his future. I understand he was furious at her and himself but he seemed to almost go demonic for a bit. The end when her voice started changing and he hated the sound more and more almost made it feel like he saw humanity as a whole was his enemy. We know his power is now at the level of gods and he's basically making his own reality filled with demi humans so who knows by the end he could become the god of demi humans and if that dark moment was any indication. Also the enemy of man kind.
oh boy in the webnovel he become so powerful to the point where he dream of his other self that goes to the other path like for example
he literally become a demon king since tomoe died while fighting with the goddess in this part he never meet mio so he lack tha power when he was fighting the goddess which end up with tomoe died.
then there is a part where he literally destroyed the world by burrying it in sand and in this case he never meet both mio and tomoe while he join an empire then feel in love with the princess there then that princess want to destroy the world because of her family is dead

Watched ep 12 nuke and this clip more then 10 times I wanna see the main character become a villain and fight the heros
You left out the part where he feels incredible remorse and completely loses it cause he realizes he just killed someone.
Not that he just killed someone but that he lost those important to him. In the manga you see how his child self was emotionally detached from everyone but family. Remember in earlier episodes he killed the blue trolls and didn't think anything of it and had Mio eat the assassins and was completely fine with it, MC is that kind of person.
@Panel Deepak I think it is more lamenting over letting people near to him die, and by an explosion of his own mana at that. He may have feared how easily he took a life, but I don't think he regretted taking said life

He regrets losing values from the original earth. Unlike most isekai main characters makoto considers this new world to be complete garbage and doesnt ever change in his wish to return to his original world.

realize that with how many times they have a chance to snap the Joker's

@@TheMaxCloud Well I understand the meta-reason that you don't want characters being killed off because then you can't profit off of them. Also pretty much everything heroes do to even catch villains is against the law, it's called vigilantism, but that doesn't stop them. Also I'm not sure if you have read comics recently but there is a ton of stuff in even normal marvel and DC comics since maybe the 90s that you most certainly wouldn't want kids to see like rape and total evisceration. They certainly aren't for kids anymore.

A necessary evil that a leader/ruler of such a young age like our MC here is forced to hand out upon those that wronged him and his people for a heinous crime, the crime of murder in this case. But does that make our boy here evil? Only if he enjoyed it, which he didn't in the slightest despite the look on his face, and someone has got to be held accountable for their actions and the lady here did with her life.
I it was the appearance and walk in of justified consequence. Chick performed evil actions that led to the death of innocence and she had a fucked up evil mindset in regards to main characters friends and allies… So she was due the consequence of her actions. Justified revenge but a bare minimum that was the justified consequence for her evil.

If you see the whole scene, you can hear how he slowly considers her less then human, just a rabid thing to put down as her voice goes from human to 'disgusting evil creature'.
That is not what happen. During that whole interaction she has no idea what he is saying because he is speaking demi-human, she is speaking common. She is going off his facial expression. The anime has been really bad showcasing the language barrier from when he speaks with other people. In the end when her voice gets all broken, that is because she is trying to speak in demi-human to beg for mercy however she doesn't know how to speak demi-human so its all broken.

In the novel later on he is considered a racist against hyumans by hibiki
@@mattpet7913 Negative. I will agree that he starts to view hyumans as less than later in the novel because of how the story progresses and hibiki with her complete vengence bias, but at this point in the story her voice is cracking because she is trying to talk demi human to beg for her life.
Its her attempt to speak in demi-human language is why her voice sounds like that.
