Since it will be a daily driver, add these 2 competitions: 1) times race: have to load a bunch of stuff into the back, complete three laps of the track, then unload. 2) who can get the best gas mileage doing 10 laps of the track while being chased and not passed by someone driving a stockish Miata.
The last video had a bunch of negatively biased comments, good to see this vids better. I'm stoked you guys decided to carry on with making videos, I enjoy how you are regular guys doing things that any of us could do. I feel you'll find you build a more loyal subscriber base even if it isn't one thats a license to print money. Cheers for doing you guys
love the dedication. Those wheels are supreme! Treadwear, or UTQG, numbers, is not comparable from one tire brand to another. They are specific within each tire brand and compared to that tire brand's 100 wear control tire. So Hankook's 200 wear tire will be different than Michelin's or Continental's 200 wear tire
Wow didn’t think those enkeis would do that much justice! Glad I was wrong that looks so good! Greddy lip is so clean I love the flush fitment of it, doesn’t even look aftermarket. This build is coming along so nicely.
Really digging the series! If I had one wish on this or previous episode, simply based on the age and overall condition of all sub frame and suspension and brakes, it would have been nice to see some brand new CV axles (x4) installed. They generally should be changed anyway at about 80 K kms
I have this same looking (body style, color) Subaru but it’s just an Impreza, Not the STI version. AND what you guys have done to this car... IS amazing, Jaw dropping work! Bravo- this series got me to sub your channel. *secretly want to do this to my Impreza*
Solid choice with the NT03’s! One of my favorite wheels as well and they don’t hurt on the wallet as bad as some others. Car is coming along nicely! Just needs that EJ207 and a PPG 6 speed!
I love this series. Is it possible to give a parts and services cost breakdown as to the build? I realize that some of the stuff is donated to you or sold at a discount, so if you could write up the MSRP on those items as well as the fees for services like the blast/powder coat and shock rebuild it would help put this in perspective for some of us looking to do something similar.
i used a tiny screwdriver to get my seal out, push sideways until it folds up and then get under it and pull - and, when reinstalling pistons, if they're sticking, give em a twist and wiggle ;)
Rebuilding calipers is way underrated as a brake upgrade. Dragging pads murder pads on track, even if its super little. And people go buy big calipers instead of even fixing the brakes first. The seals on the piston are essential for the piston going back and getting air between the pad and disc. They need to be done regularly since they loose their flexibility at high temp track driving..

Nice wheels! I can't wait to see that Subaru on the streets.
yeh, had to do a caliper rebuild while i was doing work experience. thankfully most except for 2 of the pistons didnt want to get yeeted across the shop ahaha.
When you're showing something new and referring to what it used to look like, it'd help if you showed an image of what it looked like. Like a before pic overlayed or something?
Any chance you will be posting that 200TW tire review video soon? The one you teased us with a month ago? Most of us can't hold out much longer before ordering our 2019 season tires, so if it is to be of value......
Cant wait to see the finished product cant wait to finish my gf wagon i had to do a full restoration on it as it was a proper frankenstien and 9th owner and previous own was a hippy so it smelt questionable haha how the rest of your builds go smoothly for you
One video I'd love to see from you guys is the effectiveness of brake ducts. As in compare the temperature of the rotors with brake ducts hooked up versus no brake ducts. Other fans of the channel, up vote this comment if you agree!
The guy you made fun of who said the DBA rotors could be saved is correct. DBA sells the outer brake ring and you re-use the aluminum center. They are two-piece rotors for a reason.
put a block of wood in the caliper so that the piston can move out without coming completely out of the caliper. doing this you can get all the pistons out using air
I kinda wondered that too. The NT03+M doesn't come in too many sizes, but there is an 18x9.5 +27 which would have been close if maybe a little pokey. Or maybe it wouldn't clear the caliper.
Really loving this build/restore

There is no better chanel on youtube than this one! Awesome content!
I prefer the pizza wheels.
^^ yes , i was honestly dissapointed , golden pizza wheels ftw!
Fuck you, asshole! 💢😡
Great job guys. Wish more car guys would have great attitudes like you two. Keep it going.
Thank you!!

Thanks!
I love that you are doing justice to a much hated car, I owned one and really loved it in my 3 years of ownership.
Running that spacer brings your offset to +30, why not go with the 18x9.5 +27? Basically the same fitment without having to run a spacer
Dammmmm that sti looks way better now on those wheels!! Great choice!! Keep the videos coming!
@Speed Academy Red out the tail lights on the STi
Altezzas belong in the early 2000’s!
100% behind you on that one m8. I've been nagging them to change them ever since they got the car ;-)
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video with us~
Thank you for putting reasonably sized wheels and tires, I'm sick of the Subaru forums where all the GRs have 285s crammed on them for no reason.
I’m loving these wheels. The Sti is coming back together nicely
Really digging the series!

Amazing wheel choice. Really looking forward to seeing the motor go in. Thanks for the videos
The car looks amazing! You did a great job resurrecting that poor thing.
@SpeedAcademy sick wheel setup, you guys need the tail light overlays 🙏
love centric everything. 1 billion hot laps and counting.
Connie, we miss you. You and Beamsie need to come back to our subscription feeds
Really enjoy watching this build. Reminds me of my STI hatch. Keep the content coming guys 🤙
Great wheel Choice! So refreshing to see a build without the overplayed black wheel/murdered out look.
Yeeesssss!!!!
Oh, the want is strong with this! Nice work so far guys!
awesome job! your keeping me moving on my build! Hope i catch you guys at the track this season!
I love those wheels. I have the 18x8.5 version on my NC miata.
I have this same looking (body style, color) Subaru but it’s just an Impreza, Not the STI version. AND what you guys have done to this car... IS amazing, Jaw dropping work! Bravo- this series got me to sub your channel.
*secretly want to do this to my Impreza*
Wow, the car looks so cool! Congrats on the wheels and aero, spot on guys.
Solid choice with the NT03’s! One of my favorite wheels as well and they don’t hurt on the wallet as bad as some others. Car is coming along nicely! Just needs that EJ207 and a PPG 6 speed!
Wooo amazing job. Thanks guys for this kind of content in UA-cam .
I always learn something from your guy's videos! Been watching since the ASS2000 build, keep it up :)
this series has been great
lovin it
The tread pattern on those tires is beautiful
Car is looking great, favourite part is that rear wing and front lip

I had no idea Greddy made a front lip for the GR chassis. That looks fantastic
You can use brass picks to remove seals, it will not scratch steel smooth surfaces.
Love the wheel choice!
This is looking clean! 👍🔥 I just want to thank the both of you for building my next summer daily driver 😆
This series makes me want a STI.
I like the new moving time lapse.
STI looks sick great job
i used a tiny screwdriver to get my seal out, push sideways until it folds up and then get under it and pull - and, when reinstalling pistons, if they're sticking, give em a twist and wiggle ;)
Nt03 are my favorite wheels, im saving up for a set now
Amazing job guys. Sending u much love over the internets
Thank YOU!
This was goals when I had my sti
I actually thought those were the real wheels in the thumbnail. Looked pretty damn good.
made me fall in love with my NT03+M again
Looks amazing. Cant wait for the powertrain videos!
You all saved an M3 which was great but what is even better is saving the STI.
Between this channel and Mighty Car Mods, I am picking up a really weird accent and vocabulary. Love all the great content you guys guys make!
Great wheel choice!!
I’d really love to see you guys run a set of pads and rotors from R1 Concepts. They’re phenomenal, although they were pretty dusty for me.
Wow, turned out great. Really diggin that spoiler. 👍👍
Damn those wheels are nice
Those really fit the STI

The car looks amazing and the Enkei's look sick with those lug nuts!
Love the new "RIMS"!!! For a moment I thought you guys got the ORANGE wheel?!?! Phew?!?!... lol
Nice piece of kit !! WoW !
Wow the car looks gorgeous.
that sti looks amazing , the wheels are stunning , howdy from western australia 😄
Yes yes yes! One of my favorite Enkei wheels.
They are some damn nice wheels on that build though. One of my faves. @17:34 for the affected.
Peter did most of the work !
Cannot wait to see it rip some laps!
Love the rear wing.
Nailed it with the wheels!!!
Was t sure about the wheels but when they were on the car they look great 👍
That thing looks beastly.
Looks incredible guys. Great work as always! You guys should share the STI. Like joint custody. Just work out a schedule. :)
Looks like the same wheels Evan Shanks had on his red sti hatch 🔥🔥🔥 sickkk
Can you guys hold a meet and greet in Ontario, I’d love to meet you guys!
Interesting build! Really enjoy the explanations. Just can't stand the read wing!
When you're showing something new and referring to what it used to look like, it'd help if you showed an image of what it looked like. Like a before pic overlayed or something?
dang that ATE Super Blue tho. used my last can a few years ago, sucks it was banned.
I’m loving this build. I wonder if the previous owner is watching these videos like “F***!” Lol.
i noticed the panic wiring sticker, i see you....i see you. representing the pnw
I'm not a Subaru guy, but damn that looks good 🍕
Absolutely my favourite build series to watch atm
Keep it up 💪🏽
Edit: i just became a fan of those wheels. Looks perfect!
Man. your testimonials about the vendors are so funny 😂
Lovely Build everything perfecto..
This series gonna increase the Subaru wrx/STi hatchback tax people already have out there. The car looking amazing!
I’m surprised you guys like the stoptech pads, I hate mine but that might be because I’ve got stock forester xt calibers
Any chance you will be posting that 200TW tire review video soon? The one you teased us with a month ago?
Most of us can't hold out much longer before ordering our 2019 season tires, so if it is to be of value......
Like the aero but the wheels are not my cup of tea but loveing the vids keep it up 👍
Cant wait to see the finished product cant wait to finish my gf wagon i had to do a full restoration on it as it was a proper frankenstien and 9th owner and previous own was a hippy so it smelt questionable haha how the rest of your builds go smoothly for you

Yeah I hear you and imma let you finish.... but michelin PS4S tires are the best.
Im serious. Awesome in the rain also.
Nice work guys;. Btw where is NB fun Miata gone? Miss it already
Thats the next build series!
Love the build, are you guys going to have any meets this year ? One hop across the border and I am there!
Love the videos guys! Question, what lift setup is that? Looking for something like that in the new garage, thanks and keep up the good work!
called quickjack about $2000
The guy you made fun of who said the DBA rotors could be saved is correct. DBA sells the outer brake ring and you re-use the aluminum center. They are two-piece rotors for a reason.
Yes ofcourse, the comment was about machining those rotors and reusing them. We actually kept the top hats in case we need new rotors.
put a block of wood in the caliper so that the piston can move out without coming completely out of the caliper. doing this you can get all the pistons out using air
I use the same rotors on my trackday subaru. Can't fault them.
Instead of spacers why didn't you just got the correct offset ones?
I kinda wondered that too. The NT03+M doesn't come in too many sizes, but there is an 18x9.5 +27 which would have been close if maybe a little pokey. Or maybe it wouldn't clear the caliper.
Wheels you mean. Can you get rotors in different offsets?
@@BobPegram yes, wheels. :)
Rotors have a factory width.
It might be that the spoke design is what hits and not the offset. So they’d have to run a spacer anyway to clear the spokes regardless of offset
Offset has nothing to do with brake caliper clearance. It's the pad height of the wheel that has to change.
Get a sport grille for it! I can't stand the ones with the bar in them, mesh does this bodystyle so much more justice.
Had those exact same wheels on my RX8 and I traded them. Kinda regret it
Which tyre do you prefer/think is better: gredge07r or AD08R?
Ba hahaha, bringing back the old DBA rotors keep the comments coming had me laughing
I would recommend supreme 🤔
