Literally just installed my flip top roof system!!! Love it. And got it done right in time before it starting to rain here too! Lol. I also got in the windshield system. Will install that as soon as it stops raining. Thanks SLINGMODS for the awesome products!!
@@titosalas3265 well it has these flaps in the rear for rain to drip behind the seats, and the front windshield will drip in your lap sadly. Two things I would for warn people on this setup. The seal above the windshield will break loose, and ya pretty much have to use adhesive tape to reinstall it. And second, just make sure you use rainX on the windshield if ya know you’re gonna be out driving in the rain.
We just purchased this, installed it yesterday and it looks great! It did come with some felt pieces and we are having difficulty finding where they go. Can someone tell us where these need to go?
Hello Betty, we're glad you like it. The felt pieces should go between the plastic frame and the roof top to prevent rubbing or squeeking on bumpy roads. Thank you!

Just installed mine today. Im really happy on the fit and how stable it is. I was worried about shaking. Only down fall it hides my wing a lil more then i like. But im very happy. Ecen had painted candy to match. Thank ypu.
I purchased this top and the windshield portion that goes all the way up. Paid about 3k with shipping and taxes. This top blocks the passenger mirror making this a safety hazard. I was told they have a set of mirror risers for about $40. They are not willing to send me this set as a courtesy to fix the safety issue with the top bar blocking mirror. I hope they consider this and come to a resolution for this issue. All i want is a free set of mirror riser as a way to say thanks for my 3k purchased that will now after installation put me at a safety risk as you cant see cars from the passenger mirror.
Thanks for your business Cuban121783, I'd be happy to send you out a side of our side view mirror risers free of charge. Please let me know what your order # is and I'll have the customer service team get those out to you. Thank you!
I was going to order this until I seen this video. I feel like it could’ve been done with waaaay less work...I mean come on now...who owns a rivet gun🙄 not to mention what if you want to remove it when it’s not summer? This has a million rivets 😂 let me know when a simpler top is made to install. Sheeesh!
Hello Awnan. The mfg chose to have assembly done at home so that the top can be shipped for a reasonable price via Fedex or UPS. Most tops on the market are shipped complete but ship via LTL freight (big rig) and require you to be home to sign for the package. Not everyone can take off work to do this or has adequate space for a big rig to enter their area. - Rivet guns are around $5 and available at Harbor Freight and are used because of their resistance to vibration.. also the reason you'll notice them being used on every commercial aircraft. There is 40 rivets and the top portion of the hole is "pre-drilled" from the factory. You would have to drill the 2nd layer of each hole after alignment is correct before installing each rivet. The reason the 2nd hole isn't pre-drilled is because there is small discrepancies in each slingshot and allowing you to align the 2nd hole before drilling allows proper fitment to each and every Slingshot. - The reason they made the front portion removable is for the summer months or nice weather, so that the top does not need to be removed at any time. If it does need to be removed you'd need to remove the hose clamps from the side bars and drill out the rivets clamping the roll bars. Extra rivets are included in case of this scenario. - We do have other tops from other mfg's that arrive via pallet and ready to install with "no assembly", but not for under $1k and not with this level of modularity. Thanks!
I purchase the top last year. Was able to assemble. Con: The top direct more wind in your face. It is a strong draft. So I opt to ride without the front. Probably will work better with a extended windshield.
@@nickferrari413 Ahh gotcha. We ship to owners in all 50 states. The seasonality is definitely different per state.. but the Slingshot would probably give you a longer riding season if you added one of our roof tops!
It's not completely enclosed, so you'd still get wet to some degree if you rode in the rain, but we do offer a full windshield option as well if you'd like more protection from the rain.
Hey Dennis, well my answer to this question is truly speculative, as I have not tried what your asking.. but I went out and put quite a bit of weight on the rear portion of the roof with little to no flex. There's definitely enough structure there to hold some lighter items.. but I wouldn't feel comfortable saying how much weight or what items exactly without further testing.
Hello Dennis, yes all the rivets are included as well as 10 or so extra rivets. The rivets clamp two pieces of plastic together. The first hole is pre-drilled by the MFG so that you know where the rivets go.. the 2nd hole is drilled by you the customer so that you can perfectly align the top roof panel to the tops sub frame below with perfect alignment. Thank you!
Hello, we're actually coming out with a "full" windshield for this top very soon.. that will give you complete coverage. We're also looking at offering a "wiper" option for those that wish to drive in all weather conditions. Stay tuned..
I am having problems with my installation. The horizontal pipe where the clamps go situates itself right on a weld so the measurements of 3/4 of an inch does not become possible. Whats up?
The front portion removes in 30 seconds and sits on the rear deck lid via the included plastic lugs, so that you can take the removable front lid with you in case you run into bad weather. The mfg designed the system to be modular so that removal was not needed, but If you wanted to completely remove it.. you'd have to drill out the rivets clamping the roll hoops. Extra rivets are included with the kit. If for some reason you do need to remove it, you can use those rivets to remount to the roll hoops. Thanks!

In our experience it actually gets quite stable at speed because the pitch of the roof creates down force.
