At first I told myself "Megumin is not the kind of person to do something as messed up as throwing a cat and then blasting it to oblivion" but then I realized "oh wait...she is that kind of person"
To be fair, that ‘cat’ is half of a Dark God and Megumin mentioned it in a previous episode. Most people wouldn’t worry about someone/thing, if they knew they were a God.
That's Megumin in a nutshell, no wonder in the main series Chomusuke was getting scared when she was using her as a target to practice explosion even when it was just a mock practice.

Megumin is deceptively strong, especially considering her petite and malnourished body, but Yunyun is technically stronger due to never skipping PE and being well fed. That's why when both were doing a physical challenge in the main series, Megumin literally played dirty.

The cat has the same dub voice actor as Ram, Ram from Re: Zero = the older pink haired sister of dear sweet Rem, Rem = how ironic, first being thrown by Subaru to distract berserker Rem in saving her while out in the forest... now thrown by Megumin as a cat to get her main target at range to use her spell... some things just never change it seems.
Now I can just see it all, Ram being thrown like that as the cat with her maid face freaking out about it all without being able to talk except cat cries. 🙀

Well, Megumin is voiced by Erica Mendez. While she, and Karbowski have done male characters such as Gon for Erica, and Blackstar for Karbowski, they do have some differences.
Like Mendez playing someone like Ayaka from Genshin sounds different than Karbowski playing someone like Hisako from Food Wars.
It's something of a sound difference between the two. But both of them are good at what they do.

Also, even if it’s personal, but compared to how cats get more treated poorly by people even in fiction, cats have had a terrible reputation for years, that is why. Megumin is also pretty terrible, I lost interest in her dumb loli harem personality with Kazuma but even her own spin-off makes her less likely to root for and more like to ignore her easily and root for her failure

Lol. The family of Megumin is very poor so the parents have no choice but sell defective products like the bracelet just to make ends met. They will try everything just to earn their living like what Megumin is doing at Season 1 of Konosuba even scamming her bestfriend Yunyun just to eat and fed her sister. It was also one of the joke troop of Konosuba specially with the Lich Mage buying and selling defective products in her store that cause more harm than good.
Megumin’s dad made the bracelet for the user to find their target, but imbued it with a curse so that the wielder always has worthless men attracted to them. The dad does this to every Magic item he makes, because he thinks it’s cool. Arnes bought it, so she can find Lady Wolbach, so it does work.
@@zakkarawylde151You got it wrong, they're precisely poor because they sell defective stuff, but the merchandise is not exactly defective, they're in fact very powerful magical artifacts, but they're side effects are too strong that counterbalance any benefit they could provide. And that's all because of the dad's shortsightedness and grandeur delusions that Megumin clearly inherited and almost all crimson demons possess.

Yes, although what happened to Arnes is far from great, is not something for what she should kill someone.
In fact I believe she lucked out because is very likely there's magical artifacts with worse side effects. Just look at Kazuma who got a choker that was choking him until he got his deepest wish fulfilled. And is safe to assume it was from Meg's dad due to Wiz being her main and regular customer. At least she's is helping to keep Komekko well fed.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. KonoSuba has a bad reputation of using its characters’ miseries for entertainment.
Especially for Kazuma that is, although in this spinoff Megumin is the harbinger of misery, fitting for her rascally character, but the more she got closer to Axel, more and more comeuppances she received. That explains why the writers cut her school arc, they wanted to focus more on the comeuppances.

omg megumin dub voice so bad XD, yunyun voice pretty close to the original good job yunyun voice. altho i don't understand why dub cant never capture the true essence of anime spirit. they always failed to express the true feeling behind the animation. for that reason SUB for life!
