God Father's Pizza in Gresham Oregon had a Frogger back in the day. Very fond memories of that place and playing Frogger there in 1980 something! I just call it "UF". That's Cool! Thanks for the video Ron! Very cool fix!
An excellent find with that tantalum cap being shorted. I take it that the reorientation of those reversed IC's worked OK and were not fried? Great job on the repair Ron... WELL DONE!!! 10/10
They ended up working just fine when I put them back, I think because the Z80 doesn't get anything but 5v if you reverse it it's able to tolerate it. You're sending the clock signal somewhere weird but nothing gets overvoltage....
I had the Sierra port for the venerable Commodore 64. I used a WICO Command and Control ball bat stick. I had it down to a fine art of hopping thru traffic, but those dunking turtles I had to watch out for.

I have a frogger that has a bad circuit board, anyway I can send it to you for repair? Was having the same problem, no sound. Now the monitor is not coming on. Looks like it has transformer that has melted and corrupted the board. I would really appreciate the help!
Modern Re-releases of Frogger have all run into Copyright issues with the games original music and are forced to alter the games soundtrack because of this. Sega/Konami used the pieces of copyrighted music without licencing them . the first tune for example was taken from the Japanese children's song " Inu no Omawari san" or " The Dog Policeman" ua-cam.com/video/uFb3GqeCZ2E/v-deo.html its just not frogger without the original music .. Arcade 1up's release is one core example of this issue ..
JOES CLASSIC, why is the "wattage" of the volume pot rated for 10watts to 50watts? its unusual to find a volume pot that is rated power handling for 10watts to 50watts, not sure why arcade games want volume pots rated power handling like this
So why did the frogger cross the road? He seen what the chicken was doing and thought it looked like it was fun. But he did realize there was a river on the other side. So now he's salty against the chicken. By vowing revenge by calling his personal friend. COLONEL SANDERS. And getting that chicken deep fried.
That left opening was always my weak spot, I was never good at the game. I wasn’t good at many of the games come to think of it. The arcade I go to has Frogger and I play it just to see if I get any better. Nope.
The trick with the left cave is to go for it first, if you run into difficulty you can always change plans and use another cave. That way you're not stuck with the left cave being your only option.
The pedantic types might get wrapped around the axel with the uF thing, but you know damn well they use “u” when trying to type a mu. Half of them probably couldn’t describe Ohm’s Law.
