This slideshow makes a good demonstration of how different Roddenberry and Scott's visions are. But it also makes a distinct point about how differently Scott views women....
I prefer these sexier TNG women.
I think Geordi would have been top heavy with that VISOR. I did like your version of Ro Lauren. I had to pause the video for a few seconds just to take it in!

This is magnificent. I've always had the idea - probably due to Yesterday's Enterprise - that this would be the perfect aesthetic for a series set during the early-to-mid 23rd century "lost era" between the opening scenes of Generations & Encounter at Farpoint...
I've used up all my free trials on these things, but I find generating ideas like this so addictive. I like how it recreates the characters vaguely enough you could say it's not actually those actors' likenesses, but you can still tell who its supposed to be. The ship designs are spot on.

This could very well have been what The Next Generation could've looked like if it had been made just 8 years earlier (the crew and interiors, at least). Certainly a good alternative to Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers IT25C. Might've even lasted longer than either of those, as well. 🖖😎👍

LLAP🖖🏻Considering the state of Trek now, I doubt we'll get anything remarkably close to "Alien 1979" or TNG. Just my opinion and I am entitled to it.
No. Science fiction never lasted long on the big 3 networks back then. They failed with BSG by making it a weekly series instead of a series of tv specials/movies. And Buck Rogers lost it's momentum with a Hollywood strike that postponed season 2 by 4 months or more. And the 80's tv was a mostly a sci-fi dead zone until TNG started in syndication. Some light weight stuff like Knight Rider was around and various short lived flops.
Would have lasted longer than BG or BRIT25C? The former lasted only two seasons and the latter for three, while TNG was on for seven full seasons

I agree. I think one of these days we'll say "I want to see Star Trek TNG, Encounter at Farpoint, with Anthony Hopkins as the Captain, Rita Hayworth as Troi, Nik Cage as Q etc. , photographed in the style of David Lynch and the computer will spit out something pretty clumsy at first, and eventually something so close to reality that future generations will wonder which version was the original .

Wow. The aesthetics is very Aliens meet TNG! Worf's design is actually rather brilliant! Everyone just looks a wee bit feral- even Data! The Enterprise design is very reminiscent of some fan design from the 70s!
I think that the feral effect comes from two sources: The first is that a lot of the characters have were-wolf hair. Their hair is teased up higher than is humanly possible. The second thing that results in a feral feel is the music. It would all be a bit less creepy if the music were light and airy.
Fabulous - a great interpretation of what a dark version of TNG would look like.

This feels more like Startrek if the Ferengi had been earths first contact.They sold humans a whole shit ton of warp and weapon tech without the slightest moral restraint and humanity leapfrogged to TNG level quickly, BUT neverdeveloped the egalitarian elements they got from the vulcans, and instead kept a more stark, cobbled together appearance in terms of tech and dress.
It's giving me Star Wars original trilogy vibes more than anything else. Some generic 60s/70s/80s SciFi aesthetic as well. That hat on Guinan is straight out of Gilliam's Brazil (the shoe hats). I think this highlights how much of the era is embodied in these works.

Ridley Scott was almost was hired to direct a Star Trek Nemesis but Rick Berman hired Stuart Baird who had never directed a movie before to bring in "fresh blood". This ended up being a bit of a disaster. Imagine how awesome this movie would have been if Scott would have directed it.

Star Trek TNG but it's a 1970's-1980's multi-camera era BBC science fiction series like Classic Doctor Who Season 7-26 and Red Dwarf Series 1-6. Worf's baldric reflecting off studio lights, the alien weapons made out of common off the shelf models and inverting Patrick Steward being a UK actor playing a French Captain in a cast of largely american actors; we get a US actor playing a Spanish Captain in a cast of largely english actors. Plus the guest stars are whoever were prominent in UK film and television with Julian Glover playing Q; able to avoid choosing poorly in Paris this time.

A lot of them are recognisable as being being based on a number of base images from TNG and a few are not. The Klingons look interesting and two Data pictures look like other actors playing the role. Gordie's visors look way too impractical.
Why do I now want AI to progress to the point we could actually get something like this made for reals. Imagine having various famous directors give their spins on various episodes without having to worry about whiny actors or bean counters saying we can't do that because it would cost too much to build the sets.
Perhaps you have heard of "graphic novels", or "comic books".
Someone could start a "Deviant Art" page where Star Trek fans send in their drawings of their favorite scenes from the Star Trek Novels.

It's a very nice alternative take on TNG but it completely misses point of what Roddenberry was going for- a bright future for humanity. It was intended to refute the decade prior of bleak, dystopian sci fi.
It’s a what if scenario. Star Trek does have the mirror universe which is no different than what i’m doing😁🖖🏼
@@SpocksFridayNights Oh, I'm NOT knocking it- I'm actually extremely impressed. As a mirror universe, it's amazing. The ship interiors being slightly claustrophobic is a very nice touch. Definitely the opposite of the "Marriott in space" look of the Galaxy class.
