What do you think about the Analogue Duo? If you're into Turbo/Pc Engine games, are you looking to order one? I'd love to know!
Pat, I'm not certain that the everdrive will fit in the front slot. This is something I think many people would like to see confirmed. Thanks.
Ordered the black Duo about a week ago. I've always wanted to play PC-Engine CD games from the east and all I've had is the TG-16 and ten games on HU Cards. There's some pretty good looking, professionally made presses of some of those games, for a lot less.
I ordered 2! One grey, one white!
I would really like to have it just to jailbreak it. I do have a TG-16 with a Super SD system 3 attached, I have the Analogue Pocket with the cores added, and I have a Mister FPGA. I still enjoy having the system dedicated to those games even if I don’t have many of the physical games. It’s just hard to drop essentially $300 after taxes and shipping. I don’t know if it’s the FPGAs being too small, or the RAM, or what keeps one of their systems from essentially being a mister, but I would love to have the ease of their UI and everything else, but be able to play all my digital games. They could have an FPGA use all their cores, develop one for the PlayStation and maybe Sega Saturn, then have a console that could play NES, SNES, Genesis, TG-16 PC Engine, PSX, Saturn, Game Boy, Game Gear, GBA, Atari Lynx, Neo-Geo pocket color, maybe even develop one for Neo-Geo, and the older consoles as well. It would cannibalize them making any other future consoles, but at this point they are running out of ones to make anyway.
I would love to get a Duo and a Pocket, but I can't afford them right now.
I’m in for one. Went with white. Hopefully it releases on time now.
For the Saturn, in particular, an ODE changed every view I had on the system, and I have had mine since launch. There are so, so many amazing fan translations for a library that was infinitely better in Japan then it ever was here in the states.
As someone who get easily confused by all the different PCE/TG16 revisions and variants, the Analogue Duo is PERFECT for me. I can just load any game I want and not have to worry about whether it's compatible or not.
So does it even run PC games cd-roms too? Any CD based system like PS1?
It will only run games made for NEC-brand "PC Engine" and "TurboGrafx" consoles (they are the same basic console, with different regional branding and a few other things). Don't be confused by the term "PC Engine" because it refers to the specific NEC console, not the general concept of "PC games." @@AimForTheBushes908
@@AimForTheBushes908There's hopes among the people who preordered this that down the line a jailbreak will be released that allows you to run your real Sega CD/3DO/CD-i/32xCD/JagCD discs. the fpga is more than capable of handling most of not all of those systems
Saturn and N64 fpga cores are in development for MiSTer, it's not 100% confirmed they will be perfect but the devs are hoping its possible. We should know in a year or so (PS1 core already is public). It may be possible to plug a USB cd rom drive into the MiSTer and there you have your MiSTer CD Rom system....
As far as next gen FPGA goes, MiSTer has a great PS1 core, a Saturn beta core that is soon to be done and works great so far, and N64 core has just started and homebrew roms work on it but people are skeptical as to if it will fully function or not. I can see analogue doing ps1 first.
I don't think they'll do the PS1 system first, since Playstation actually offers people the ability to play it with PS Plus (well, PS2-3 games). I would think they'd be a bit worried about overly litigious happy Sony coming after them.
80$ international shipping!!! Then I have to pay 24,5%VAT at home. I'm looking at 400$ at least which is insane... The analogue looks great and I love you can change the CD audio volume. Sometimes these sound effects are way too loud!!!
Still I'll just have to hope my Duo-R will hold up or get the new CD everdrive for my CoreGrafx....
Saturn and N64 are currently been worked on for the MiSTer. They already have a very stable PS1 core that was developed by the guy working on the N64 core atm.
I have ordered the adapters for the pocket, can’t wait to get hold of the PC Engine one and for the Neo Geo Pocket.
I couldn’t care less for the Lynx one, that’s defo gonna gather dust.
I'm waiting for the adapters too.ElCheapoSD for the Lynx is a good option for the price.
frontloaders are cheaper in a small form factor. you buy off the shelf drive and jam it in there instead of gutting drives you buy or buying the mechanisms.
I ordered one day one. I've never bought anything from them before, despite wishing I owned everything they ever made, but this is the only one I wanted no questions asked. I love the TG16/PC Engine! Played it when it came out in 89 via relatives who had it, but I never owned one myself. I've always wanted one. I've been collecting games for it for years without even having the system, but having the intention of buying one eventually. Problem was when I started looking into buying a system it was all the hoops you guys mentioned: bad capacitors, modding for the best signal and to make it region free (or buying an adaptor which is pricey), system cards, the price of shipping + possible import fees.
Navigating all that was a headache. When this thing was announced it was like my every prayer had been answered. Even with the price bump, which was admittedly annoying, I felt it was still worth it. And while I know there's emulation and so on or playing on the Pocket with an everdrive the issue is the controls. How do you properly enable the turbo switches? Even back on the Wii U eShop with Turbografx games the "turbo" function was the first setting. There's two! They never get it right! You need to use a real controller with authentic turbo switches and that more than anything else is my main reason for buying this. It'll give me, being able to play it on modern tvs, the best authentic experience possible.
I play duo, turbogfx etc on the MisterFPGA. You won't be disappointed. The gameplay, audio, music. All perfect.
I preordered mine around the time this video released. Not gonna lie, I was questioning myself until I watched this. I feel better now, thanks. As for the Everdrive, I use mine in a Core Grafx 2, and don’t plan on using on the Duo when I get it. If I’m not mistaken the Everdrive is thicker than a standard Hu Card.
What I really don't get about the Duo is how they went out of their way to make what is essentially the end all be all definitive way to play PCE/TG16 games
Yet they ignored what IMO is on of the most glaring issues with the original console so I have to ask
Why does this thing only have a single controller socket?
I really don't get it, especially when you look at how much room was left on the back.
Even if they didn't feel like going for a full 5 socket, they could at least have put in just 2.
If this thing had come with a full 5 sockets so you didn't have to bother with going out of your way to get a multitap to play multiplayer with authentic controllers, then it would indeed be the definitive way to play PCE/TG16 games. I can literally not see no other ways to improve on this.
It baffles me why Analogue didn't opt to fix this shortcoming of the console.
With the cost of shipping, the analog Duo ends up being closer to $300. Someone can already buy an original Duo that's been recapped, RGB modded, and region modified, for around the same price. Of course that system wouldn't have the super grafx support or HDMI out though. However, if you already have an upscaler for other retro consoles, then it doesn't cost you anything to turn that RGB into good quality hdmi. So people aren't really saving much over a stock Duo setup at its current price point. I'm kind of bummed that they put the controller port on the back side of the system which basically forces people to have to buy extra wireless controllers.
Not sure what modder you would commission that charges that little for an RGB mod, region mod, and recap. A working Duo console itself is about $200-250 (as Pat mentions), then with all of those mods from a modder who doesn't suck (like Voultar or ifixretro), you're looking at least another $200. I would only use a modder who knows what they're doing too, especially with anything PC Engine, not some random bro charging $50 for everything that does shoddy wiring work.
With that said, I would still get original hardware over the analogue Duo, as these kinds of clone consoles baffle me as the entire point is to play on original hardware. It doesn't make any sense to use original discs with FPGA, might as well just use an SD card at that point.
@@warchild9381 it would definitely cost more if you're buying your own Duo and then paying somebody else to do the work for mods as opposed to finding one that has already had all that work done to it to buy out right. They definitely run in the $300 range to purchase a system that already has a capacitor change, RGB mod, and region mod done to them. I actually sell systems myself for about this price with everything done to it as I refurbish and repair these consoles. I always tell any of my customers who ask me about getting a broken Duo, and then sending it to me to get work done on it, that they would be better off price wise just buying one from me with all the work already done.
@@Chris-Courage no offense to you, but I don't know your work, and if I am going to do the whole thing with all the bells and whistles, I am going to pay that extra money to someone who I can trust who I know for a fact will do the job correctly so I don't have to worry about future issues like corrosion, trace damages, or any other rookie mistakes. I have come across time and time again crappy mod work that ends up costing me more in the end, so upfront I would rather buy a $250 Duo, spend another $300 or so on mods from experienced modders with actual engineering degrees, and have the peace of mind that it will last.
@@warchild9381 No offense taken. Not everyone knows that I have 15 years of experience working on Turbo/PCE consoles or that I've been very active in many Turbo/PCE repair forums over the years.
Preordered one to retire my original TurboDuo so it can get some much deserved (almost 30 years!) rest on my display shelf. Analogue Duo + DAC + CRT + TurboChip/HuCards/Super CDs and all will be very very well for another 30 years!!
What’s a DAC? I have a crt tv and I ordered the analogue duo. Will it play on the older TV’s that don’t have hdmi input?
I ordered one
Excited to see it in person
Got one myself, got several chip games and a TG16 without extras. I have wanted to get duo for a while but have been turned off by the capacitor problem. It will be nice to try out some Japanese games as I can get them.
The FPGA chips that Analogue has used, would not support the PS1 or Saturn.
However, the MiSTer project, using the DE10 Nano, does have PS1 and Saturn cores (requiring extra RAM to work); so it's "possible", but my understanding is that the DE10 Nano "barely" is capable of doing this.
So... it requires using upgraded FPGA chips, but it's "Possible" ;)
Thanks for making your adverts so easy to fast forward through.
one thing to note is that because analogue devices are built from the ground up and try to emulate the hardware of the originals, they aren't always 100% accurate. I think they are usually pretty good at playing the official games on original hardware, but I know from first hand experience that they do not play well with flash carts. For example, the original krikkz everdrives for famicom were incompatible with the nt mini noir and no version of the firmware ever got it working completely. (it does work fine with the everdrive pro btw). I'm honestly a bit worried that the duo won't work with my hucard flashcard.
I thought they announced that flashcards would work in the first announcement, or that you can load roms into the system itself. If it has all the CD card bios stored, roms should be exactly the same.
I wonder how standard the optical drive is. Can you replace it with a slot load laptop SATA drive? Like, eventually it'll go bad. Everything with moving parts does go bad. It's inevitable. Kinda wish they went with a Hucard only model with a USB 3.1 or USB 4 port for an external optical drive the user can supply.
I agree with Ian: it's weird the controller port is on the side, and to have the USB on the back. I suppose they want you to pick up the 8bitdo wireless controllers.
They announce this 2 years ago as much as i would like one i dont want to deal with there bullshit.
I'd preorder if it came with that Rondo of Blood disc. Serious answer, I own a good amount of hu-cards but no CD games and my modded core II is pretty rock solid.
Thankfully I started collecting hard like 7 years ago for pcengine hucards/cd rom games. They are pretty expensive now if you're just starting.
there was A LOT OF STUFF Coming out during the Neo Geo Pocket, it had an American release, and got shuffled into bottom corner of a lot of retailers. And we are talking about 3DFX Voodoo cards released at retail stores, so it was never a nich market when The Sims was common on store shelves, and that was BEFORE PS2 release. So yeah, Neo Geo Pocket wasn't on imports.
I wanted a TG16 since I was a kid, but the Pocket had cores released before they allowed us to buy adapters and... well, I sort of played what seemed enjoyable. ^_^ I've waited for years for this and now find it really hard to justify as I just don't imagine there is much out there for this system (plus prices are skyrocketing), that could justify me buying it.
I still want one, but I'm torn if it's FOMO or if I'd actually enjoy the games.
i mean i have no doubt its gonna come out, but its only really worth it if youre already a long time tb16 collector because otherwise starting to get games for that is really expensive
Very true.
Hopefully it will support those everdrive things.
I have one and it's very convenient, but it doesn't have the disc based games on it.
@@onetwo6039 The Everdrives for it are pretty expensive though. :( I was looking into it to try to justify buying one.
Yeah...I collect the pc engine side for hucards and the cd rom games. Been going at it hard for the past 7 years and it's Hella expensive..thankfully I only need about 12 more games :) I can see why collecting the physical games isn't worth it much unless you got lots of cash or already deep into the collecting
Besides having a region free up-to-date pc engine duo, the idea of an open FPGA device with a CD drive sold the device to me.
But there's no confirmation whether Analogue (unlikely) or hackers will be able to make the FPGA on this open. So you shouldn't get one of these on the strength of that, at the moment at least
@@TheRestartPoint It is not even not confirmed, it is explicitly denied under point 7 on the Duo page when they mention the Analogue OS: „Duo features Analogue OS, but does not support openFPGA“
I first and foremost want it to play everything PC Engine, however… wo ein Wille ist, ist auch ein Weg 🤓
Terra Onion and Core Gfx for me. Plays everything and uses roms so affordable. Closer to original hardware and robust. It will do HDMI but I play on a CRT anyway.
There has been a lot of speculation about the potential fit issues for the everdrive in the card slot.
I bought a PC Engine Duo just before I saw this. It was recapped, new laser, RGB mod. I wish it were more cross compatible with my TG-16 which I also have. I'm interested in this system.
Yet another system announced after the Amico, that will be delivered before the Amico.
I guess that goes for all future systems tho.
The Intellivision Amico won't ever come out, shame too cause that Evel Knievel game in the background will never see play time.
@@VOAN It was on Iphones before the Amico was even a silly thought in Tommy's shallow head.
Other things that ended before the Amico got to launch: Bed Bath & Beyond, The Ellen Show. Remember, Tommy wanted to be at these places to show off the console.
@@OM19_MO79 I think the only games you can consider being "complete" are the Bavarian grant funded games. They are still low quality because the budget was thinned out among several games.
I wanted to order, but my wallet said no. If I sold my boxed TG16 it would be a no brainier buy.
This would be more impressive if the Pocket was in stocks with thier other items.
IMHO pre ordering game related things is risky
Nice to see another episode. Thanks, Pat and Ian.
Got burned on the Amico?
You can pretty much only pre-order from Analogue and I've been very happy with everything I've gotten from them
Analogue has always delivered. I don’t get blanketing all manufacturers as untrustworthy until proven otherwise as long as you stay aware and keep your expectations at bay.
With Analogue, you'll definitely receive it... eventually.
@@seanm1738 Yup, may take 1-2 years, but you'll get it. Plus with Analogue you run the risk of not being able to ever buy it after the pre-orders.
Not having a pop up lid is obviously cheaper, but also is another thing that could break, that now cannot. I don't feel for a second it's fancy design as Ian claims.
I bet the disc drive is just a standard (front loading) slimline laptop DVD drive. That must be infinitely easier and cheaper to source than a custom drive with a lid that aren't being made anymore.
In case anyone from the UK wonders how much it costs. £320 or 400 dollars. 329 dollars for analogue Inc shipping and another £59 for import taxes. Takes you up to 400 dollars
Analogue as a company, they do some things really awesome and some things really shitty. Their shipping and handling department... eh... not the best. Though I PERSONALLY never had any issues with the products I ordered from them, I've read a ton of horror stories on the subreddit. But their products are amazing.
I own a SuperNT, MegaSG, two pockets (and pretty much every accessory aside from the "3 pack" lynx, NGP, TG16" adapters) and have pre ordered two Duos from them.
I adore the SuperNT and MegaSG. Both are not without their issues. The SuperNT especially, the cartridge fit is super fiddly. Enough play that you can EASILY cause a game to glitch / crash by disturbing the system even a tiny amount. A 3D printed part is available to easily shim that up. No worries. The MegaSG plays the games in a strange mode. I found this out trying to debug (diagnosing a non working system) a SegaCD system using some custom developer tools via an everdrive in the genesis. The custom tests didn't work on the SG. Work fine on real hardware. I come to find out from the author of the tools, that it is because of the "mode" the SG reads the games in. Is this something 99.999% of the people who own one will ever even run into let alone care about? No.
The pocket IMO is just sheer perfection. I LOVE that thing. As someone who owns tons of original gameboy hardware across all the gameboy generations, both stock and modded (screens, batteries, wireless charging... you name it)... the pocket is the system that gets all my limited game time any more. I haven't even tested out the dock or the accessories. The openFPGA is amazing. Playing the donkey kong arcade FPGA core on my handheld is just sweet. So many amazing FPGA cores running on my little handheld.
I suspect the DUO will be a very solid offering. I am that "unicorn" that Pat describes. I am NOT a fan of any sort of TG16. I don't own TG16. I've never even emulated TG16. But I love the Analogue products so much, I had to order them. I am the one rare guy who owns a lot of various original hardware, about 5-6 different everdrives, retail games, systems modded with ODE's and a mister. I pretty much embrace it all. Real hardware w flash carts is *usually* what gets most of my time. The mister rarely sees use any more. I do pick up retail games here and there depending on desire and how much of my free cash I want to spend. I 100% DO plan on owning some retail copies of TG16 games. Some. Most will either be played via a jailbreak or flash cart.
Heck I even recently bought up some sealed lynx games. I have several lynx systems.
FPGA hardware emulation is an amazing thing. There is an amazing PS1 core. The same developer is working on an N64 core. We are getting a Jaguar soon. I think a Saturn core is pretty far into development as well.
As far as a "mister" style CD based system. I can't see why they wouldn't do it other than they could make a lot more money selling 4 systems vs selling 1 system. They can pump out 4 systems at $250 but will never get $1000 a whack for one system to do 4 consoles. Which, I realize isn't fully gained income. All those individual projects will have their own overhead, and duplicate overhead in some cases as compared to a single project.
All in all, while we can argue the potential audience for this is far smaller than anything they've done so far, it's been selling well and I think it will be overall successful.
I've heard of a Rondo of Blood remake / reissue supposedly coming sometime "soon". If it does happen, I will be trying to get a copy!
Both ps1 and Saturn FPGA cores are available. Saturn is close to being done
thanks for more content
Had to lower the volume in the beginning part of the video...the ad. Lolol
That ad just got your channel banned on my content filter. 😂😂🤣🤣
I got my NGPC and most of my games from Ames, a New England (ish) regional department store.
OMG, Saturn emulation is great! Come on, Pat! Granted, an FGPA Saturn would be different than emulated Saturn, but still.
I'm pretty surprised they are actually doing a cd-based console at all. I don't see why SGX couldn't be supported, though.
Honestly the best system for them to do next is the PS2. Probably not enough gen1 PS3s floating around to satisfy the demand. Saturn or Dreamcast would be nice but they weren't really all that popular. A high quality hd PS2 option would sell like crazy.
As this is Analogue’s first disc console, do we think Saturn or PSX is possible to do on the Duo or new hardware? I think a PS2 that can do Dreamcast/Saturn/PSX/GameCube/Xbox would be the king. However it will be dangerous and encroaching on the big corps. I think a smart thing is to partner with Sega and officially release a Saturn/Dreamcast FPGA/classic. Or partner with SNK for a Neo-Geo CD/AES FPGA. A legit manufacturing agreement I think can raise their status and introduce new fans to those systems.
I want this pretty hard for it is ability to take CDS and cards from both regions, but the fact that it's probably HDMI only is a major turn off. you can't even use a generic converter to play on CRT you have to use their expensive DAC which only has 1 HDMI slot and doesn't even work on Pocket yet after being out for a year. It's really annoying you'd have to have like an HDMI switchbox, then the DAC, Then plug that into a component switchbox to play it on CRT. That's TWO AC adapters that could be skipped if it just had component out the console.
TG/PCE doesn't even have light gun games but I want to use it with what I want to without being inhibited.
Analogue sells a digital to anlogue converter if you want to play them on a CRT TV
I pre ordered lol. I'll get it when I get it lol. My game backlog is huge so I'll be hacking through that in the meantime lol
I can’t believe there’s so few UA-camrs talking about this thing.
The duo-r is also missing the headphone jack the original duo had.
While an FPGA PS1 would be interesting, I feel like the PS3 will affect that market, but then again... the PS3 can't play every PS1 game, like Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, or region locked PS1 games, so maybe it has a chance. PS3 has it's own ways around these problems, with digital copies of the games working properly, and being able to buy Japanese imports on the PSN, but the digital store won't be open forever, and technically you can get around the soft locks from Legend of Dragoon and Chrono Cross, but they are just some inconveniences you probably wouldn't want to always deal with. Either way, the PS1 and Saturn are my favorite systems to collect for, so I would still like to see something for them, especially Saturn, I would love to see if they can get a model that works with all the games, as emulation struggles to play half the library. I also wonder how they'll do N64, another hard to "perfectly" emulate system. Oh, and if they can do Dreamcast, and build in a network adapter that works with modern internet, I would be in love.
I am looking forward to the Dup but I don't like the type of disc drive they went with, it works fine for BLURAY but not CD!
Could lead to scratches.
@@bioboost12 Definitely, I might have to look into getting it modded with either a top loader or moterised tray!
I really really want one, but the cost is prohibitive for me personally. Being in the U.K there's a further 150 on top for shipping and import tax. But...then I think can I afford not to do it. I could always cancel my holiday 😂😂
So did you know who show up to claim that 5 thousand dollars?
Hello you.
It doesn't even do open FPGA. The pocket currently runs triple graphics 16 and CD. They removed all sorts of options here. Also, unlike other products it doesn't have any analog output, it's just not clear who this is for.
Was stoked for it when announced, but the fever has worn off for me.
Just be willing to wait 2 years. To date some people still haven't gotten the Analogue Pocket that they ordered over a year ago. They can't get another Pre-Order out of me.
If Analog does make a PS1 version, will it include the SCPH-1001 BIOS, or will you have to source your own?
It will include SCPH-1001
@@OM19_MO79 I meant “source your own” as in finding it online. I recall needing the ps1 bios for some emulator (maybe bleak?) many many years ago, and I definitely didn’t have the capability to dump a ROM
Now they need to make a Sega CD. The CDX model would be great.
I would be thrilled if analogue did a sega cd, ive already gone through a few of them breaking down on me
The MiSTer plays Sega CD now, you could dump your discs on to it
Buy a DE-10 nano and load up the mister project on it. Covers everything here + dozens of other systems/computers and hundreds of arcade boards via FPGA with more being added every week. Unless you absolutely MUST use your original media, this thing is just crazy expensive for the functionality it offers. The analogue pocket made sense because it offered something a mister can't (portability) but the only thing any of their consoles offer that the mister doesn't is the ability to insert your original cartridge/disc/card.
BTW Mister also already has a PS1 core and the Saturn core is in development and is pretty far along. Heck, someone's working on an N64 core as well although whether that will come to fruition is up in the air because physical limitations of the DE-10 nano might make it impossible.
Look, I hate how much some folks evangelize the mister project and some of the people behind it are a little weird at times but it really has made everything analogue offers obsolete besides the pocket.
Yeah, i wanted the "Super Nintendo" and the Pocket, but it was sold out too quickly for me.
Than i just looked up what a Mister would cost me and got that instead, more Systems in one.
Yes, i can't use my Library directly, but ripping CDs and having a Retrode2 is easy... also, i just don't feel guilty downloading games i don't own and cost several houndred Moneys used or i own in other Forms.
@@OM19_MO79 I mean all FPGA stuff is emulation, it's just going about it differently than traditional software emulation. As long as it's offering a more accurate and low lag experience that FPGA solutions are known for, I don't personally care how I get there. So, I opted for the most cost effective solution and that's mister. Analogue makes fine products (the pocket is great) but their consoles are just sexified misters with 5% of the function that you can stick your original media in.
@@OM19_MO79 For sure. That's why I pointed out in the initial comment that the evangelization of mister amongst some people is incredibly off putting, even to me. I'm going to be honest, I found it incredibly hard to notice the lag in most games on good ol' free emulators on PC. Outside of extremely precise platforming, or something similar, it wasn't really a concern. I bought a mister mostly because I had an old CRT laying around I was looking for an excuse to use and pre-pandemic DE-nano's and the analog top hat to hook it up to a CRT were fairly affordable. Also, accuracy is kind of a non-issue on almost everything 8/16-bit if I'm being honest, when is the last time anyone played an emulator for an NES/SNES and went "THAT'S WRONG!". Even when something isn't cycle accurate if the end result is indistinguishable to end user, who cares. It's one of those things people obsess over that ultimately means nothing after a certain point. It's just an excuse to make them feel special for owning original hardware.
I think it’s Bluetooth or 2.4g 8bitdo compatible out of the box?

While not 100% pertinent, I Gotta say, the D-pad on the Pocket is an absolute travesty. I get false inputs constantly. For example, when playing Kirby’s Dreamland, while walking left to right it’s common that an up input will register. Makes a lot of games very difficult to play. Yes, there are ways to modify the system to overcome this, but it feels like a very basic thing that shouldn’t have been an issue.
No campaign? I used to see NGPC commercials on TV all the time :D
Hmm...I'm not seeing an RGB connection :(

@@8bitbros Probably the best option, but I have not looked up any reviews.
@@OM19_MO79 I do have a few RGB displays, but I'm probably in the minority. Makes sense to keep it digital output with being emulation/FPGA.

If they do a FPGA ps2 the wait time would be infinite
Is there FPGA/emulation hybrid? Let me explain. FPGA is the way to go for 16 bit systems and below IMO. However, later generations run much better on emulation. See PS1 games upscaled on emulators such as duckstation or Ninja Gaiden 2, xbox 360 game, running on xbox one x or series console. I would love to play sega saturn games with fpga compatibility along with emulation upscaled visuals.
Soo this will play old PC games ?

Saturn core is in active development in mister by srg320. Many games fully playable. N64 core is being developed by Robert, maker of the ps1 core. Great time to have a,mister
More than likely its more cost effective with front loader cd drive or availability, controller ports on the side and back not cool😊
I traded for a Duo, but when your trade amounted $2 for one, it's too good to pass up
i dont have time or the money to get into the turbo grafix. Especially when New Wave Toys keeps releasing new mini cabinets.
Drink every time someone says “sure”
Incredibly sad it doesn't have openFPGA.
I like the idea of play my originals on a New Hardware, all my Consoles are very used...
I have an RGB modded and recapped PC Duo so I'm gonna skip this one. I have an NT Mini and a Pocket though.
If they came out with a Sega CD attachment or all in one I'd pick that up though my CD can't read discs and for the life of me I can't figure it out. It's not the laser, not the caps, no matter how much I fiddle with the potentiometers I can't seem to get it to load smoothly. Cutscenes are a stuttery mess and loading screens take forever.
I do wish they offered the Pocket adapter for $30 though. I have the Game Gear one and I'd be interested in the Turbo one since I have games. But I have zero interest in the Lynx and I don't really want to play NGP games without that kooky microswitch stick.
I have the duo-r, pc engine, core grafx, cd rom and a brand new interface unit. I know the ifu using the cd rom attachment isn't the most reliable but it's definitely cooler )
Hell to the no no no
The power button could go on top.
I agree wit Ian but the negatives outweigh the positives for me personally so I passed.
I know absolutely nothing in these console but when you say it can play cd-rom and cd-rom 2 does that mean i could technically play games like Diablo 2 and Guild Wars on my TV? 😳
They are having trouble getting the Pocket out. Why would I give them more money.
the USB ports on the back....just why
Pat is looking puffy these days
I love how Rex MD assume you're talking to an audience of people who have sex regularly...
My main problem with analog is that they create artificial scarcity to drive up prices of their products, which in of itself is shitty. But this doesn't seem all that interesting
Why would gamers need Rex MD they're not having sex
Analogue: They have good products but the shipping and customer support is a disaster. For example, they charge you to send it by FedEx and finally they send your package via USPS, they charge wrong taxes on their products, the list goes on and on. Ahh the worst of all is that they don't do anything to improve. (Fan of the channel)
You cant find turbo grafx 16 or cd games anywhere if you dont have a collection already this isnt worth getting
Ebay is about it but yeah...collecting now is for rich people. I'm almost done collecting for it thankfully.
I love the Game Gear and NGPC but don't care about the Lynx 😅
While I did preorder this because of love the system I truly believe its bullshit to say its not emulation because it is 1000% hardware emulation.
Should have also been a pop top not front loader.
Price is way to high and they cut features. The os change horrible idea. Design sucks and the cutting of the super grafx games leaves me puzzled as i didnt realize they cut those games. When i preordered.
For the same money after controllers, shipping fee, taxes, wait time and console you would have saved money getting a soap box pcengine recapped and an everdrive. Or just get the mister multisystem.
They will also never release a cd mister console because they realize they can just milk the retro gaming community like apple does. Play with the preorder money and release a product eventually because we are so used to getting screwed its just a normal day to us.
Who told you it cant play supergrafx games?
@@vidjenko8349 did you not listen to the podcast? Its no longer listed as supported on their website.
@@koalakoa Pat corrected Ian on the very same podcast!
@@Robert_Shmigelsky are we sure? Its not longer listed as compatible on the site: "HuCARDS & TURBOCHIP, CD-ROM², SUPER CD-ROM², ARCADE CD-ROM²" doesnt show Supergrafx cards anymore? I hope you're right because having an all in one was the point of me ordering it.
@@koalakoa Says it right on the FAQ.
What games does Duo play from NECs history?
Duo supports TurboGrafx-16, PC Engine, SuperGrafx, TurboGrafx CD, and PC Engine CD games. No additional special supporting HuCards or hardware is necessary to play these games. All support is built directly into Duo.
Is he being sarcastic when he says "no emulation"? FPGA is emulation just not software emulation. These guys have to know that so i am guessing sarcasm with not enough snark for me to pick up on it?
