Thank you Jakob, i loved to mess around with feedbackloops when i was working with analog consoles… did not know until now, that AUM gives me the option on my ipad👍🏾👍🏿👍🏽👍🏻i love your channel
“Go to that place where people eat bread with spoons” 🤣🤣🤣 This is pure gold man, nice one! I adore the Shimmerverb sound but it’s very easy to overuse… Thanks to Brian Eno for discovering it in the first place. I like the sound of Discord, a lot so I’ll be purchasing that methinks… Cheers for another great video dude, peace ✌️
Great , thanks Man I used to set up a similar effect in my Guitar Harmonzer ..with the 2nd and 3rd Harmonies ….delayed each Harmony a little more than the other and they would travel up the scale as the feedback faded away. …or u could do octaves,…shows your a genius to figure out that from scratch. 🤓
That was a brilliant explanation of how you create this sound. Well done sausage. I love that you talked about filtering out the lows. This is something I’m always telling people about reverbs - being a bass player who always wanted to experiment with fx, this is something I had to learn and was always problematic with pedals.
Yeah I mean a lot of the time reverbs can be next to unusable in some effect pedals or synths when there’s no filtering option for low’s. For me it’s a fundamental feature that should always be there.
Coooool!! Sounds dope! Reminds me of a top guitar 🎸 song. That delay plug-in is coooool and the reverb, and sounds top with the feedback technique. 👍 Almost as if the video outro you was about to say, you can always go check out … Agonizer !! 😎 I got it!
Ah, of course I do that sometimes. But honesty I keep forgetting to load one in. I’ll try to keep it in mind for future videos about similar topics. 👍👍👍
Potentially dumb question... Would using a very hefty limiter at the end of the chain (thinking Amazing Noises Limiter) help protect our ears and speakers against any accidents? Or does that not work?
Not at the moment no. There has been one developer (n-track) who started developing something called “Audioroute”. It’s not like AUM though and is more reminiscent of “Audiobus” for iOS. Unfortunately it hasn’t caught on yet and so far there are only a few apps that uses the system. It’s basically for connecting audio apps to on another.
Actually my AUM series began some time ago. Now I’m just topping it off with stuff that the community has asked me to do. There’ll be more coming! 👊👊 AUM playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLvNQD1EpaiNObDUoHfT4RRT2_OP-HMRWe.html
Can you help out on Using my microphone? Im confused with using FXs on this app. I’m getting alot of static noice and loud feedbacks which is ruining the live vocals
Maybe it’s cheating? But I slap a compressor/limiter on the out channel (usually I have a separate one at the end) before setting up feedback loops. With a 0ms attack, if possible. So far at least, I haven’t broken any speaker cones or eardrums, but I do watch the levels. And this? This is sweet. Now I know what I am doing till bedtime. Thanks Monsieur Haq!
Excellent, I can see using this process. Have recorded some audio feedback in AUM with fx for future use already. I have an ask/video suggestion, I use AUM live, crashes aren’t good for me. I isolated an inter app audio plugin that had brought down AUM at a gig, had to remove it to ensure no further damage. Can you do a vid on your experience with the stability of plug-ins, of all types, synths, drum machines, fx, more. I’ld love to see what you’ve found are very reliable.
I must ask how does eatin' bread with a spoon, any tips??? Yeeeeessss more videos like this is must like how to use a granulizer and there r sooooooo many granulizersss out there?!?!?!?! I have wanted to use a bass and filter out the low. And Change the sound and have a low volume cut off of the bass. Sooooo I thought aum is the best for this. I would have used caustic. Altho if I had used caustic I am not sure if a need for a granulizer.
👍 Add a LIMITER to the output! That will help you protect against unexpected loudness! - Thanks to all the commenters who pointed this out.
Compressors / limiters in the feedback loop can be a good idea, too.

Great sound design lessons Jakob, you was born to push this magic out.
Thank you for the high praise! 💋💋💋

Amazing vid - thank you for sharing these techniques with us sir!

Great sound! Using a limiter when working with feedback is good practice.

Beautiful.

Never too early to learn something new 😀
is there an alternative for windows/ android? or is the version coming for that platforms?

What is better this or audiobus
I’m working on a video comparison between Audiobus and AUM. Stay tuned!
