Index funds are way more powerful than most people realize. Putting 6K per year into a 10% return rate for 40 years means you'll have close to 3 million dollars by the age of 60.
If you start with a million dollars, put it into a 10% return for 40 years, and don't touch it, you'll have over 45 million dollars.

It's a pity that these guys don't seem to surround themselves with the kinds of people who understand how to set themselves up with a solid pathway to financial independence. 401K - Roth IRA - optimal tax structures - a small property portfolio (not including the house we live in - 'not an asset') and some stocks and BTC for liquidity - plus income streams (school/seminars/instructionals) ... all basic stuff which they could all chip in a little and construct a 'pot' to hire someone to take care of them with this education. More people in the 'professional athlete/martial artist' space should do this. They do decades of hard work - it takes a toll on the body - and any compensation we get, is often well-earned. The B-team could all agree to dump a couple of K each, into a financial education fund - that they can all benefit from as time goes by. A simple strategy that could pay huge dividends for them as time goes by. if anyone reads this ... please consider ... for your long-term benefit.

CONTENT IDEA: I love that you guys put out instructional and respect this is your main income, but SO many new athletes (White - Purple) do not know how to effectively use an instructional. A new video on how you would utilise your own instructional if you were a new white or blue belt would be awesome and would likely give people the confidence to spend $$ on your instructional knowing that they know how to utilise them. Big questions I have as a Blue belt is
    - how to balance instructionals with in class syllabus
    - what do good notes look like for a dvd
    - how do I build a month long training program out of your DVD
    - What does a top level athletes study program look like
I can honestly say that with a clear understanding of how to use a DVD to its full and then reaping the benefits in a months time - I would be much more likely to buy further instructionals

collective bargaining, so you all need to get behind this if you want change. i think this is a great idea! should push this to all grappling not just focus on ajj. get some samoist, judoka, wrestlers branch out the interest.

If you win the million and the CJI becomes an annual thing like Craig was hoping, would you go back to ADCC for the gold medal or do you think the CJI will overtake in terms of solidifying who the best is?

Wasn’t Ricksons Budo challenge was $1 million for the winner? That was way back in late 90’s early 2000’s. That tournament was in the Gi.

Ideally both, but if I had to pick, I'd say Wrestling. There's already a ton of Leg Lock instructionals on the market. Not many people are doing ADCC specific stand up instructionals.

Good on Craig. There is a reason why Europeans love judo. You can make a living at it. Never get why BJJ is popular, no way to make a living. Shoot, judo coach got called the other day for an 80,000 job in Brazil to coach Olympic team. Just a lot more avenues. Hopefully this will flip the tables a bit.
