A very real and sobering video encapsulating a lot of similar feelings I've had in the past year but also the state of anime covers as a whole. It's super punishing too because the moment you take a break and come back, UA-cam's already done the damage algorithm wise. Pair that with any mental resignation alongside your job, relationships, etc. and it's a no brainer why it's so difficult to get behind the kit sometimes. It's always been a pleasure to watch and chat with you so I'm wishing you the best - whether it's tomorrow or another few months until we see another video, I'm sure many of us will still be here waiting for it! I was hoping you'd see this video, too, because I had a feeling you, too, were feeling that lingering and impending sense of... "Do I really need to work on this next video?" This isn't to say you're the only one. Drumstick, Kaji, and even Tarn S. I can see everyone has slowed down with their uploads in terms of drumming. I think one of the biggest factors of this is the fact that anime songs just... aren't as good as they once were. The last time I felt any sort of genuine joy towards an opening was Hadaka No Yuusha (Ranking of King's 2nd OP). It was the last time I heard an anime opening that genuinely made me go "Damn, that's a good song," and I know I'm not the only one who feels this was which is, well, sad. One could argue and say that it is all subjective, yes, but the truth is that a big satisfaction, for us as content creator, is appealing to that large crowd that shares the same joy towards the music that we do so we can all enjoy it together in a form of a cover; if the song isn't good, it's not fun.
@@KinProductions You've unfortunately fallen into the "it was better before" trap... As composers, I can assure you that j-pop is musically "richer" than before, it's not for nothing that op and ost have exploded in the last 2-3 years, even surpassing the anime sphere (idol, kick back...). The anime song hype is still there, and even stronger than before! I rather think it's the hype of covers that's waning... The drummers you mentioned stopped because of a lack of views, not because of the songs. And this lack can be explained in 40 ways. It's not just anime covers, but ALL covers are dropping in views on youtube, and all the old channels are getting fewer views. In addition to this drop, the number of new channels is increasing, and people's expectations are changing. It's no longer enough to simply reproduce a cover I think (many channels do the same thing), you have to add something else (drum sheet) or have a "hard" level. The big rise of El Estepario channel is a case in point. I love your covers guys, and I want to see your channels live on! Just yes Kin I agree, the reward was greater before, it was easier to make views (covid, no competition...) but don't blame it on "the songs suck". Love you guys!
Listen man, I’m glad to hear you’re going alright and that’s the most important thing. Your health comes first for sure. What ever you choose to upload in the future I will watch it and I’m sure many more will too. You could also choose to pace yourself instead. You don’t need to upload frequently to the point you burn out but instead do maybe once every month or what ever is comfortable for you. All I care for is see Kin either back on the kit again or in great health. If you choose to step away for longer, I’m glad I was here to see your channel grow to where it got to and glad you were apart of this community.
As a fellow burnt out UA-cam musician I can say you had an amazing run! Your quality was top notch and anyone can see the amount of time you put into each video. If you do come back to making stuff, I hope you switch to whatever you enjoy doing, with less stress and, dare I say, hopefully make money from, because even though "we don't do it for the money", being able to put food on the table because of all that work suddenly makes it feel like it was worth it. I hope we both get back to making stuff. It's been 2 years for me now, and the thought of doing another video still fills me with dread. Take care brother!

I always loved watching your unmatched energy that you demonstrate with the kit. It inspired me to ask myself to do it again and give me another chance. And for that quote, it may be for your audience or for your career as a youtuber, I don't know, but maybe this will help you gain a lot more support by playing other songs or maybe(as mentioned by the others) if you go in your own pace, not only we would enjoy it but you will too ultimately. Look, my man, i'm glad that you're fine. I know that's been almost two years without new videos and stuff, but i gotta be honest with you, i'm just like you, a fellow drummer who wants to do what you love the most. By the way, i'm brazilian but i followed up your channel grow so much, i'm very proud of you as a drummer and a person who loves to do what you like. Now, i think it's time to take care of yourself, but i hope that you'll continue with anime covers 'cause someday i wanna be as skilled as you are, even though this is gonna take time
Man, I had been wondering how you had been doing for about half a year now, glad to see you are doing well, considering at least! A lot of the people commenting have said something similar, but it is totally understandable that you would hit a burnout stage after going so hard for so long. Your quality and production is definitely some of the best and you could really tell how much depth and thought you put into each cover every time you uploaded, so I could see how that could take a toll mentally on you. As someone that has been burned out for a long time, not as a musician but just in life, one thing that I learned is that when things in life that once brought you joy no longer bring you that same joy it is time for a break and a fresh look at your mental health and its good to see that is what you did. To give my input on what I would want to see for the channels future, I would 100% love to see you make videos again BUT not at the cost of your sanity nor enjoyment. If you can find a way to bring your energy into a project and keep that passion going I feel like quality will definitely follow, even if you dont spend every hour fixating on everything like before. One of my favorite parts of your vids was just seeing your positive energy you would bring to every cover, where a lot of guys I see bring a very fierce and intense energy or they dont show their face so its a bit hard to gauge it. Seeing you smile and just go at it was always great to watch, so it goes without saying if you can find a way to balance it all then I would love to see you give it another go. Otherwise Im just glad for what vids you gave us because they are all amazing! Good luck in whatever you decide!

It's good to hear from you man. I'm glad you're doing okay, and I'm glad you were able to recognize that state of burnout and take the time that you have to try and determine the path forward. Whatever the case may be, you've succeeded in your goal of growing a platfrom and a community. You've produced some of the highest qualtiy drum covers that some of us have ever seen. I've frequently re-listened to many of them over the last few years, whether that was while I was working out or just doing chores around the house. I'm sure I speak for more than myself when I say that I support whatever your decision is. Priorirties and obligations change as we get older, and it's important to know what your "why" is. Do whatever you need to do stay healthy, sane, and to find passion and happiness in your life. Thank you for all of your hard work. Man, I'm so happy that you are doing better. I remember discovering your channel in 2019 from your OPM cover. I didn't paid too much attention back then but I knew that these videos were quality ones. But later I watched more of your videos and fell in love with you and your channel(as a drummer and content creator). You became the best the drummer for me and my favourite one. Just to tell you I sometime prefer your covers to the original(like Black cover Grandeur or Fire fore Inferno). I won't say I understand you and your situation but personally I do get fed up and just want to give up. Normally I manage to hold on however most of the time I don't know how. Listen, I don't want you to risk your health or force yourself to make your videos. Take your time, don't press yourself. Do, at your own pace, the things that you want, love and that gives you peace of mind. Also, if you think that stopping to upload drum videos is best then I will understand because I want what's best for you. Maybe you could upload different content that you love(see if that works). Moreover, you are right to be proud of your channel and you should be proud of yourself since there's not many people that produces content this high in quality consistently. Take all the rest you need, my King.

Good to know you’re still alive and well, man. Totally understand the feeling of burn out, especially how difficult it is to restart after stopping. The insane effort you put into your work was noticible 100% of the time but that’s not worth the negative impact on your own mental state so just take your time. We’ll be here whenever you upload next whether that means next week, next year, or never again.

I'm happy to see that you're doing fine. I have been wondering where have you been for the past year. I rarely commented on your videos but I have to say that you are one of my favorite drummers and one of at the top too. I would come back like once a week to one of your videos and listen to your covers and air drumming to your videos hahahaha. You are the main reason why I love drums in the first place so thank you. I love the effort and quality that you to put in your covers. I'm not talking bad about other youtube drummers but your cover gave the most colors out of other covers. You fill everything perfectly and didn't miss a spot, I could rant this for the next hour how good the quality your covers are but this is one the reason and also maybe one of the fact that you're using a real drum and not electric drum. I don't know if that effects anything or not. I understand that doing contents and such needs alot of motivations and also effort to put into a video and I also don't know losing the sense on your tip of your fingers going to effect your drumming, which I hope not so. Just follow at your own pace, post a video when you feel in a good mood, a sincere good mood video is the best video rather than posting a video without any sparks and passion. Dude! I started playing drums only because of your cover to haruka kanata. I love drums I am playing in a band and a orchestra. Your passion behind that drumkit was amazing. It takes to much time and effort to create a good cover and also "enjoy" the music. Anime content is slowing down and no one really cares now which is pretty sad because of how much time and effort it really takes j-rock can be really difficult to play. When I am covering a song I also dont use a tab its more comfortable for me:D. Sorry for my english I am not from en speaking country so yes. Anyways good luck in life fellow musician.

Hey Kin, I love your covers man, and I really notice all the effort that you put in those videos. You shouldn't do something that is burning you out. The quality that you give is amazing, but you should be ok to be less demanding from yourself... if you love drumming try yo post something that you are most loving in the moment, not just anime songs... Glad to hear you're doing alright kin! my view on you doing songs again would honestly be to do whatever you feel like doing, even if it isn't anime ( side note, it would be awsome to hear you cover some stuff like tool on the drums ), i've realized playing music in a more relaxed way (not trying to learn new stuff tu push limits, just play what you know/simple songs you enjoy) helps come to term with burnout, maybe it could help in your situation? whatever you end up doing, do know that I, and probably quite a bit of people will have enjoyed your content while you've done it take care!

Wow man this video resonated with me so deeply. Everything you talked about here has been exactly my experience. Knowing how it feels, I'm really sorry to hear that this is what you've been going through. Even though I know you, drumpat, drumstick, and kerlos know me, I'm not even that big of a channel so I don't know if anyone else in the anime drum cover sphere is familiar with me. I've been doing anime drum covers for years and prior to maybe 2021 or 2022, I would pretty consistently see channel growth and amounts of views that kept me motivated to keep posting. However, over the last few years I've been slowly seeing what I can only describe as the death of my channel no matter how much effort I put in. I've tried literally everything and I just can't make the video performance I'm seeing make any rational sense. I've put intense amounts of pressure on myself to have the best video, audio quality, and tightest playing that I can possibly produce. For a while I obsessed over learning songs note for note but felt like it was honestly ruining my enjoyment of playing drums. Like Matt Halpern has said we're supposed to be PLAYING drums. Playing should invoke the idea of having fun so I tried to just relax and let myself improvise a bit or play my own fills while still being 99% faithful to the original drum part. I've tried to be as early as possible to post covers sometimes learning songs on my practice pad in the middle of the night so that I could try to post covers less than 24 hours after the song released. That didn't seem to make a difference so I finally told myself it was ok if I was a few days late all in an effort to try to make posting covers fun again. I can say that I want to post covers for fun to myself all I want but deep down I know a huge part of that fun was feeling like people were seeing my performance and interacting with people in the comments. I've come to the conclusion that it isn't necessarily that anime isn't as popular anymore, in fact I think it's more accepted and popular than it ever has been, but that 1. covers across all instruments are a dying video type and that 2. old channels seem to be more impacted by this. I've seen some newer channels still put up consistently good numbers and experience growth doing the same anime drum covers. I've gotten to the point where I'm seriously contemplating starting a new channel because it seems like my old channel is just invisible at this point. Interesting to see channels that I'm familiar with all chime in with similar sentiments. I realize I'm way late to this video but I thought I'd share my experience with you as a fellow drummer. I've always enjoyed interacting with you and hope you're doing well 7 months after this video was posted!

You know when i first subbed, i only did it because you did drum covers for things like adamas and gurenge. Years later, id find a new anime that i really enjoy, id then look on youtube for covers for said song and time after timw after time, i would see you pop up, you really were unmatched and i hope you find something you find the passion for. If you really wanted to keep this channel alive with covers but you cant find the passion, rhen maybe you could essentially form some kinda group where there are multiple people doinf the covers so theres not as much of a burden. Regardless, im glad you're not dead and having one piece as your last cover is a damn good send off
Man, this has familiar tones to it. That dread you spoke about rings so true. I walked away 3 years ago, completely burned out and agitated to the point where I never wanted to touch a stick again. 3 years later and I still haven't touched a stick. And I'm totally fine with it. Since I moved to my new format, I don't get 1/100th of the daily views I used to... But I'm happier as a YT creator than I've ever been. So it's not about the money or clout. It's about you doing you. All I can say is "Thank you" for all the years of awesome drum covers, the memories, and for being my friend in this wild YT community. It's time for a little self care, and everyone that respects you will support whatever you decide. Cheers.
Thanks for the update. My advice is to do covers/uploads as often as you feel like it....and don't worry about them being perfect and just have fun :) Sorry to hear about your finger....I recently broke my hand and just got the cast off. I can't grip at all right now (which is pretty normal at first) but I'm kinda freaked out that I won't be able to grip the drum sticks or play guitar like I could before. Anyway, have a good one man!

But hey, you have to put yourself first, every time. I know the feeling of a burnout and how it is to look at something you love and just thinking about the bad stuff related to it. About the videos and youtube at least, remember that not everithing needs to be perfect, the nature of mankind in self its imperfect, so if you wanna keep doing things to this platform, just do it with no pressions, to us, to everyone who enjoy your content its glad just to see how you play the drums. Wow Kin. First of all I’m really sorry about your finger. But wow, all you talked about in the whole video really sums up the state of UA-cam regarding anime covers. It’s really crazy seeing how it happened literally with everyone, either big or small UA-camr, it happened to everyone. I was now checking my subscriptions and there’s so many people that don’t upload a video for more than a year, and it’s really sad to see the feed so empty comparing how it used to be before. I hope whatever you do in the future fills your soul and you can do it without feeling this burnout again, you have been an amazing person since we first exchanged words and I wish you the best, whatever it may be. if you are burnt out just take it easy, sadly this plataform tend to punish ppl that tend to be perfectionist but doesnt have a big team behind them pushing them to post videos week after week or worst case daily to be up to date to whatever is trending nowadays. BUT if u ever post a new video when you feel like it, you fucking bet well be there king.

I miss your videos, not because of the quality, not because of the music but because it was you, it was you playing, it was you always excited, joking, making faces doing all these things, I can't speak for everyone, but I miss I miss that animation, because it was that animation that inspired me to start playing the drums again, seeing your covers of anime that I felt like playing again, and everything you do is simply incredible, and I miss those things, I'm not very good with words, but we miss you, and if one day you decide to post songs, random videos, covers, or anything else again, rest assured that we will support you.

do whatever makes you happy!! ik it sounds kinda harsh but don’t let random people you don’t actually even know over the internet influence your life sm. yes, we watch your videos and do our best to support you but don’t forget we’re simply an audience. most people for some reason don’t understand that you’re an actual living person behind the camera with a whole world going on behind it too. some of the most popular youtubers don’t even do yt for their job, they have entire full time jobs outside of yt and just do it as a fun hobby and it sounds like you’re largely the same way. i could never imagine working a full time job, having important relationships with loved ones, and making consistent content at the same time. sounds like a nightmare to me lol. if you upload, just upload what makes you happiest man. what makes you happiest is sure to make us happiest as well :). and if you don’t upload again, your legacy is solid as hell and we’ll always remember the epic covers and go back to them time and time again. take care and we wish you the best! thanks for updating us

A very real and sobering video encapsulating a lot of similar feelings I've had in the past year but also the state of anime covers as a whole. It's super punishing too because the moment you take a break and come back, UA-cam's already done the damage algorithm wise. Pair that with any mental resignation alongside your job, relationships, etc. and it's a no brainer why it's so difficult to get behind the kit sometimes. It's always been a pleasure to watch and chat with you so I'm wishing you the best - whether it's tomorrow or another few months until we see another video, I'm sure many of us will still be here waiting for it!

I was hoping you'd see this video, too, because I had a feeling you, too, were feeling that lingering and impending sense of... "Do I really need to work on this next video?"
This isn't to say you're the only one. Drumstick, Kaji, and even Tarn S. I can see everyone has slowed down with their uploads in terms of drumming.
I think one of the biggest factors of this is the fact that anime songs just... aren't as good as they once were. The last time I felt any sort of genuine joy towards an opening was Hadaka No Yuusha (Ranking of King's 2nd OP). It was the last time I heard an anime opening that genuinely made me go "Damn, that's a good song," and I know I'm not the only one who feels this was which is, well, sad. One could argue and say that it is all subjective, yes, but the truth is that a big satisfaction, for us as content creator, is appealing to that large crowd that shares the same joy towards the music that we do so we can all enjoy it together in a form of a cover; if the song isn't good, it's not fun.
@@KinProductions You've unfortunately fallen into the "it was better before" trap... As composers, I can assure you that j-pop is musically "richer" than before, it's not for nothing that op and ost have exploded in the last 2-3 years, even surpassing the anime sphere (idol, kick back...). The anime song hype is still there, and even stronger than before! I rather think it's the hype of covers that's waning...
The drummers you mentioned stopped because of a lack of views, not because of the songs. And this lack can be explained in 40 ways. It's not just anime covers, but ALL covers are dropping in views on youtube, and all the old channels are getting fewer views. In addition to this drop, the number of new channels is increasing, and people's expectations are changing. It's no longer enough to simply reproduce a cover I think (many channels do the same thing), you have to add something else (drum sheet) or have a "hard" level. The big rise of El Estepario channel is a case in point.
I love your covers guys, and I want to see your channels live on! Just yes Kin I agree, the reward was greater before, it was easier to make views (covid, no competition...) but don't blame it on "the songs suck".

Listen man, I’m glad to hear you’re going alright and that’s the most important thing. Your health comes first for sure. What ever you choose to upload in the future I will watch it and I’m sure many more will too. You could also choose to pace yourself instead. You don’t need to upload frequently to the point you burn out but instead do maybe once every month or what ever is comfortable for you. All I care for is see Kin either back on the kit again or in great health. If you choose to step away for longer, I’m glad I was here to see your channel grow to where it got to and glad you were apart of this community.
As a fellow burnt out UA-cam musician I can say you had an amazing run! Your quality was top notch and anyone can see the amount of time you put into each video. If you do come back to making stuff, I hope you switch to whatever you enjoy doing, with less stress and, dare I say, hopefully make money from, because even though "we don't do it for the money", being able to put food on the table because of all that work suddenly makes it feel like it was worth it. I hope we both get back to making stuff. It's been 2 years for me now, and the thought of doing another video still fills me with dread. Take care brother!

I always loved watching your unmatched energy that you demonstrate with the kit. It inspired me to ask myself to do it again and give me another chance. And for that quote, it may be for your audience or for your career as a youtuber, I don't know, but maybe this will help you gain a lot more support by playing other songs or maybe(as mentioned by the others) if you go in your own pace, not only we would enjoy it but you will too ultimately. Look, my man, i'm glad that you're fine. I know that's been almost two years without new videos and stuff, but i gotta be honest with you, i'm just like you, a fellow drummer who wants to do what you love the most. By the way, i'm brazilian but i followed up your channel grow so much, i'm very proud of you as a drummer and a person who loves to do what you like. Now, i think it's time to take care of yourself, but i hope that you'll continue with anime covers 'cause someday i wanna be as skilled as you are, even though this is gonna take time
Man, I had been wondering how you had been doing for about half a year now, glad to see you are doing well, considering at least! A lot of the people commenting have said something similar, but it is totally understandable that you would hit a burnout stage after going so hard for so long. Your quality and production is definitely some of the best and you could really tell how much depth and thought you put into each cover every time you uploaded, so I could see how that could take a toll mentally on you. As someone that has been burned out for a long time, not as a musician but just in life, one thing that I learned is that when things in life that once brought you joy no longer bring you that same joy it is time for a break and a fresh look at your mental health and its good to see that is what you did. To give my input on what I would want to see for the channels future, I would 100% love to see you make videos again BUT not at the cost of your sanity nor enjoyment. If you can find a way to bring your energy into a project and keep that passion going I feel like quality will definitely follow, even if you dont spend every hour fixating on everything like before. One of my favorite parts of your vids was just seeing your positive energy you would bring to every cover, where a lot of guys I see bring a very fierce and intense energy or they dont show their face so its a bit hard to gauge it. Seeing you smile and just go at it was always great to watch, so it goes without saying if you can find a way to balance it all then I would love to see you give it another go. Otherwise Im just glad for what vids you gave us because they are all amazing! Good luck in whatever you decide!

It's good to hear from you man. I'm glad you're doing okay, and I'm glad you were able to recognize that state of burnout and take the time that you have to try and determine the path forward. Whatever the case may be, you've succeeded in your goal of growing a platfrom and a community. You've produced some of the highest qualtiy drum covers that some of us have ever seen. I've frequently re-listened to many of them over the last few years, whether that was while I was working out or just doing chores around the house. I'm sure I speak for more than myself when I say that I support whatever your decision is. Priorirties and obligations change as we get older, and it's important to know what your "why" is. Do whatever you need to do stay healthy, sane, and to find passion and happiness in your life. Thank you for all of your hard work. Man, I'm so happy that you are doing better. I remember discovering your channel in 2019 from your OPM cover. I didn't paid too much attention back then but I knew that these videos were quality ones. But later I watched more of your videos and fell in love with you and your channel(as a drummer and content creator). You became the best the drummer for me and my favourite one. Just to tell you I sometime prefer your covers to the original(like Black cover Grandeur or Fire fore Inferno). I won't say I understand you and your situation but personally I do get fed up and just want to give up. Normally I manage to hold on however most of the time I don't know how. Listen, I don't want you to risk your health or force yourself to make your videos. Take your time, don't press yourself. Do, at your own pace, the things that you want, love and that gives you peace of mind. Also, if you think that stopping to upload drum videos is best then I will understand because I want what's best for you. Maybe you could upload different content that you love(see if that works). Moreover, you are right to be proud of your channel and you should be proud of yourself since there's not many people that produces content this high in quality consistently.

I'm happy to see that you're doing fine. I have been wondering where have you been for the past year. I rarely commented on your videos but I have to say that you are one of my favorite drummers and one of at the top too. I would come back like once a week to one of your videos and listen to your covers and air drumming to your videos hahahaha. You are the main reason why I love drums in the first place so thank you. I love the effort and quality that you to put in your covers. I'm not talking bad about other youtube drummers but your cover gave the most colors out of other covers. You fill everything perfectly and didn't miss a spot, I could rant this for the next hour how good the quality your covers are but this is one the reason and also maybe one of the fact that you're using a real drum and not electric drum. I don't know if that effects anything or not. I understand that doing contents and such needs alot of motivations and also effort to put into a video and I also don't know losing the sense on your tip of your fingers going to effect your drumming, which I hope not so. Just follow at your own pace, post a video when you feel in a good mood, a sincere good mood video is the best video rather than posting a video without any sparks and passion. Dude! I started playing drums only because of your cover to haruka kanata. I love drums I am playing in a band and a orchestra. Your passion behind that drumkit was amazing. It takes to much time and effort to create a good cover and also "enjoy" the music. Anime content is slowing down and no one really cares now which is pretty sad because of how much time and effort it really takes j-rock can be really difficult to play. When I am covering a song I also dont use a tab its more comfortable for me:D. Sorry for my english I am not from en speaking country so yes. Anyways good luck in life fellow musician.

Hey Kin, I love your covers man, and I really notice all the effort that you put in those videos. You shouldn't do something that is burning you out. The quality that you give is amazing, but you should be ok to be less demanding from yourself... if you love drumming try yo post something that you are most loving in the moment, not just anime songs... my view on you doing songs again would honestly be to do whatever you feel like doing, even if it isn't anime ( side note, it would be awsome to hear you cover some stuff like tool on the drums ), i've realized playing music in a more relaxed way (not trying to learn new stuff tu push limits, just play what you know/simple songs you enjoy) helps come to term with burnout, maybe it could help in your situation?
whatever you end up doing, do know that I, and probably quite a bit of people will have enjoyed your content while you've done it

Wow man this video resonated with me so deeply. Everything you talked about here has been exactly my experience. Knowing how it feels, I'm really sorry to hear that this is what you've been going through. Even though I know you, drumpat, drumstick, and kerlos know me, I'm not even that big of a channel so I don't know if anyone else in the anime drum cover sphere is familiar with me. I've been doing anime drum covers for years and prior to maybe 2021 or 2022, I would pretty consistently see channel growth and amounts of views that kept me motivated to keep posting. However, over the last few years I've been slowly seeing what I can only describe as the death of my channel no matter how much effort I put in.
I've tried literally everything and I just can't make the video performance I'm seeing make any rational sense. I've put intense amounts of pressure on myself to have the best video, audio quality, and tightest playing that I can possibly produce. For a while I obsessed over learning songs note for note but felt like it was honestly ruining my enjoyment of playing drums. Like Matt Halpern has said we're supposed to be PLAYING drums. Playing should invoke the idea of having fun so I tried to just relax and let myself improvise a bit or play my own fills while still being 99% faithful to the original drum part. I've tried to be as early as possible to post covers sometimes learning songs on my practice pad in the middle of the night so that I could try to post covers less than 24 hours after the song released. That didn't seem to make a difference so I finally told myself it was ok if I was a few days late all in an effort to try to make posting covers fun again. I can say that I want to post covers for fun to myself all I want but deep down I know a huge part of that fun was feeling like people were seeing my performance and interacting with people in the comments.
I've come to the conclusion that it isn't necessarily that anime isn't as popular anymore, in fact I think it's more accepted and popular than it ever has been, but that 1. covers across all instruments are a dying video type and that 2. old channels seem to be more impacted by this. I've seen some newer channels still put up consistently good numbers and experience growth doing the same anime drum covers. I've gotten to the point where I'm seriously contemplating starting a new channel because it seems like my old channel is just invisible at this point. Interesting to see channels that I'm familiar with all chime in with similar sentiments.
I realize I'm way late to this video but I thought I'd share my experience with you as a fellow drummer. I've always enjoyed interacting with you and hope you're doing well 7 months after this video was posted!

You know when i first subbed, i only did it because you did drum covers for things like adamas and gurenge. Years later, id find a new anime that i really enjoy, id then look on youtube for covers for said song and time after timw after time, i would see you pop up, you really were unmatched and i hope you find something you find the passion for. If you really wanted to keep this channel alive with covers but you cant find the passion, rhen maybe you could essentially form some kinda group where there are multiple people doinf the covers so theres not as much of a burden. Regardless, im glad you're not dead and having one piece as your last cover is a damn good send off
Comeback of the century
Man, this has familiar tones to it. That dread you spoke about rings so true. I walked away 3 years ago, completely burned out and agitated to the point where I never wanted to touch a stick again. 3 years later and I still haven't touched a stick. And I'm totally fine with it. Since I moved to my new format, I don't get 1/100th of the daily views I used to... But I'm happier as a YT creator than I've ever been. So it's not about the money or clout. It's about you doing you. All I can say is "Thank you" for all the years of awesome drum covers, the memories, and for being my friend in this wild YT community. It's time for a little self care, and everyone that respects you will support whatever you decide. Cheers.
Thanks for the update. My advice is to do covers/uploads as often as you feel like it....and don't worry about them being perfect and just have fun :) Sorry to hear about your finger....I recently broke my hand and just got the cast off. I can't grip at all right now (which is pretty normal at first) but I'm kinda freaked out that I won't be able to grip the drum sticks or play guitar like I could before. Anyway, have a good one man!

if you are burnt out just take it easy, sadly this plataform tend to punish ppl that tend to be perfectionist but doesnt have a big team behind them pushing them to post videos week after week or worst case daily to be up to date to whatever is trending nowadays. BUT if u ever post a new video when you feel like it, you fucking bet well be there king.

I miss your videos, not because of the quality, not because of the music but because it was you, it was you playing, it was you always excited, joking, making faces doing all these things, I can't speak for everyone, but I miss I miss that animation, because it was that animation that inspired me to start playing the drums again, seeing your covers of anime that I felt like playing again, and everything you do is simply incredible, and I miss those things, I'm not very good with words, but we miss you, and if one day you decide to post songs, random videos, covers, or anything else again, rest assured that we will support you.
Dude!! I got to that point a lot sooner than you. Looked at what I was doing and went...nah, not going to kill myself getting all of this perfect. All that being said, still hope we do something together someday :)

do whatever makes you happy!! ik it sounds kinda harsh but don’t let random people you don’t actually even know over the internet influence your life sm. yes, we watch your videos and do our best to support you but don’t forget we’re simply an audience. most people for some reason don’t understand that you’re an actual living person behind the camera with a whole world going on behind it too. some of the most popular youtubers don’t even do yt for their job, they have entire full time jobs outside of yt and just do it as a fun hobby and it sounds like you’re largely the same way. i could never imagine working a full time job, having important relationships with loved ones, and making consistent content at the same time. sounds like a nightmare to me lol. if you upload, just upload what makes you happiest man. what makes you happiest is sure to make us happiest as well :). and if you don’t upload again, your legacy is solid as hell and we’ll always remember the epic covers and go back to them time and time again.
