Worked on many, many cars, but never a VW Bug. Getting ready to put a new VW engine into a car, so thought I would take a look at an installation video. It astonishes me that an entire engine is held in place in the engine compartment--and on the car--by three bolts going through the edge of the transmission case. No engine cradle, no mounts, nothing. An entire reciprocating package floating about in the compartment. Stunning.
This is the engine we built early on in our series so the links to all those parts are linked in those videos. The engine is a 1.8 liter 88x74 stroker with a 38EGAS carburetor.

Stunning.
She's getting close Sam!
She’s ALMOST done now, just ironing out some wrinkles, nothing major just little tweaks here and there.
Nice job as factory 🚘
👍
No clamps on fuel lines?
Good videos, these are helpful.
On a low pressure system clamps are not needed. We did use clamps at the pump and carburetor though.
Can you give us the specs on the engine? Size, carb setup………. Maybe throw some links to purchase these items. So cool!
