Hi Suzi! I use Max's products as well. Next time try, after you do your color gel polish... top coat it with the Shine E and then apply the Holo Powder with a eyeshadow applicator and then top coat again. It's a completely different Holographic effect.

I love Max's products! They're really top quality and not unreasonably priced. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend the cotton candy monomer. It smells so great!
Holo! I found your youtube page a couple of months ago, and you are just a treasure! I am licensed in cosmetology but have been peering over the fence at nail techs for many years, lol. I am just about ready to make the switch over. I am teaching myself through various resources that are available to me. This week I interviewed with a local "walk-in" type nail salon here where I live in the US and I am not sure I want to choose this salon to begin shadowing, learning, and the ultimate shaping of my career. And this is why... in my state here in the midwest, nail trends aren't popular, and the nail salons don't keep up with trends or the industry or competitions and shows etc... nails shops around here are more interested in what is quick and easy to get clients in and out. This salon I interviewed with is no different; we will be limited to the types of mediums we can use... only "no chip" (which is basic gel polish) and the new pour colors. Because our demographic customers aren't flashy or risk takers or hip to trend (mid-westerners) the owner will not invest in offering acrylics, hard gels, nail art, or 3D art.... the things I absolute have loved about nails all along, and why I would ever become a nail tech in the first place. Why am I sharing this with you... well- a nail tech with your experience and longevity; I am curious to know what your opinion of all this is. How do you advise; go with the demographic of your customers habits, or can I be the type of nail tech who can challenge my area to take risks, and step out of their comfort zones and put them on track with what is new, exciting, and on trend with the nail industry. I mean... why do nails, hair, make up anything! If the clients you serve are comfortable with the same ole from decades ago? That doesn't seem like a service, as the professional they are counting on us to bring to them what is fresh and new, right? Or will my pushing them to catch up with what's new be ultimately bad and failing for business? Please give me your professional advice... I don't think I would change professions if I have to sign up for limitations. Unless I move away to an area that is more progressive (but then more competitive for me to stand out) I would be stuck doing boring services for years to come. Thanks Suzie!!!!!

I have all coffin shaped in deep purple with both pinkies in a stiletto glitter gel and it looks like I have diamond encrusted nails. This holo powder looks more glittery than the powder I've seen elsewhere that shows more of the colour underneath, you should try that stuff!!
