      I was just thinking that myself last night. I've been following Usyk since he was fighting at cruiserweight, so I was not suprised when he beat both AJ and Fury. He should retire and spend time with his family, because fury would never of give him a rematch if the tables were turned. Even if he does have the rematch I think it would be the same result, and Usyk will probably stop him if they do fight again.

    It doesn't matter for Tyson to be loosing this historical fight but what matters to me and majority of the viewers is the defeat of a hateful boxer due to his arrogant attitude. This is an excellent lesson to boxers who speak highly of themselves in public interviews.

    • @publichealth9470

      Exactly. Fury isn't just a talkative. He's also a bully. He often swears and shouts profanity without provocation. He lies and seldom defends his titles. As a champion, he was never a role model and held the division hostage. Good riddance! I'm glad he lost.

    • @freedom4mealways
      @freedom4mealways 23 дні тому

      Was it not Peter Fury who said in interviews that if Tyson Fury wanted to win, he would have to take the fight to Usyk but he would have to employ a variety of jabs? Yet in that fight with Usyk, Tyson Fury only used the long jab followed by the uppercut and occasional hook. Because of Tyson Fury's physical attributes, that plan worked for him the first 6 rounds. After that Usyk caught on to that simplistic plan. He was then able to react better by countering immediately with a quick left hook or with a quick right jab followed by a left punch to Tyson F.'s body.
      As I said before, Sugar Hill was too simplistic. Andy Lee also did not have much of an impact in developing a comprehensive game plan, and John Fury's rage negated anything he may have contributed. I am not bashing John Fury because I believe if it was not for him, T. Fury would have lost that trilogy fight with Wilder.John Fury is the one who said that Tyson could not rely on aggression alone to beat the American.
      Again Peter F. said Tyson's game plan would have to be varied in interviews namely because Usyk is varied. Apparently no one watched his interviews.

    • @freedom4mealways
      @freedom4mealways 22 дні тому

      It is just as well that Peter Fury formulates the game plans of his own fighters. No one is really heeding the common sense and logical advice that he gives. I am just a boxing fan. I am just a novice, mush less an expert. Yet I was appreciative of the fact that he had the foresight to state that certain things had to happen for a T. Fury victory or a "train wreck would occur". What he said was not "rocket science" but it did require thought.
      I do not understand how anyone can think Usyk could be knocked out in 7 rounds unless his opponent lands a lucky punch in his mid-section? The man lives in crude barracks in remote "ice villages" months before fights. He is so mentally tough because of this. He could be knocked down repeatedly, take a bashing, and yet he would still only get more tenacious and determined as the fight goes on.
      I wonder what Tyson's accommodations were. There is no doubt he too is mentally tough. After all look how recovered after the 9th round. However there is a difference between trained mental toughness and natural instinctive mental toughness. One can be coached and one cannot.
      Again If I remember correctly, Peter F. said something very similar to that as he stated that a fighter needs both to win a difficult fight. It was Usyk's preparation that got him to go all out and all in. He was trained to get going when he was getting hammered. I wonder what mental toughness training Tyson received in camp. Did he live in such austere conditions as Usyk? It is hard to say but I think I have my answer.

    • @freedom4mealways
      @freedom4mealways 16 днів тому

      Last note on the Usyk-Fury fight. Tyson Fury had three people drowning each other out by giving him advice in his corner. Sugar Hill told him to hold his ground and plant his feet when Usyk came forward. John Fury told him to constantly backfoot. Andy Lee told him he was ahead on points and to play it conservative. In my view, neither of the three gave good advice. However, as Peter Fury have said in previous interviews, what's the point in giving advice if the boxer has not been trained to follow such advice and then implement it? I thought T. Fury, after nearly getting knocked out in the 9th, fought effectively for the remaining 3 rounds. He used the 10th round to recover from the previous round and he was very competitive in the remaining 2 rounds. He may have very well won one of the last two rounds. Fury and his team did not think the fight would last more than 7 rounds. If he was tired in the championship rounds it was probably only because he did not train to fight effectively for all 12 rounds.
      T. Fury merely relied on determination and instinct in the latter rounds. More importantly, his team did not prepare for the "Rabbit" to fully charge him the way he did. Even a novice like me knew that Usyk would not want to fight the entire bout from long distance. Even I knew that for Usyk to win, he knew he would have to penetrate and try to push T. Fury on his backfoot in order to win. How else can a shorter man with a shorter reach win that bout? Apparently T. Fury and his team had that blind spot. It seems to be they were so focused on being aggressive that they did not train T. Fury on how to be effective defensively when Usyk would predictably try to close the distance.

      If T. Fury does not get a different training team, he will again lose the rematch. Usyk, after defeating Fury albeit by a close margin, and his team will be oozing in confidence and experience. They will know what adjustments need to be made in order to score a more resounding victory. T. Fury cannot afford to be simplistic and caught off-guard. He has to better use his tools and advantages but at the same time train for all likely scenarios that Usyk will put him in.
      Tyson Fury has definitely developed some unhealthy and undisciplined habits in the last 8.5 years. At age 27 he was one of the best defensive heavyweights in the history of the sport. His offense was precise as well. Moreover he was able to seamlessly co-ordinate between the two modes. In the Usyk fight, he got hit 87 times in the last 5 rounds.

      It was what it was. It will be what it will be unless Tyson forgets the past, returns to his roots, and gets back to what got him to where he is in the first place. A 6'9" boxer is like a 6'5" sprinter in athletics. They are naturally at a disadvantage. It takes a lot of disciplined training and coaching to turn them into a world-level elite professional. Yet Glen Mills did that with Usain Bolt as Peter Fury did that with T. Fury. If T. Fury continues to turn his back on that, an Usyk victory is assured in December. There is no doubt about that. It is all up to him.

      I agree. But he still dominated though. A lot of people thought it was a close fight because of Fury's showboating but it really wasn't. Rounds 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 were all Usyk. Fury only won two rounds clearly, 5 and 6. Even in round 4, Usyk outlanded him, and round 12 was a draw. You have to feel very generous to give those to Fury. So he won two rounds clearly, and was knocked out in the 9th frankly. That's domination in my book, especially with the punch stats by Jabbr which shows Usyk outlanded Fury badly (51 power punches to a measly 23).

    The case for Usyk being considered one of the greatest fighters of all time can be boiled down to this: today's world class athletes, including boxers, are the best conditioned in history. The science which guides their training, rest and nutrition is miles ahead of the old fashioned gym boxing of the past. When you consider the fact that Usyk has beaten every opponent of note, and that he is one of the most skilled and best conditioned athletes in the world, it's hard to see how he wouldn't have beaten the best boxers of the past.

      I meant he handled it enough to get to the end and still be fighting... absolutely right that he could not handle the pace of Usyk. Usyk MAKES people move and fight at a pace they are not used to and can't handle for the full 3 mins of the round and the full 12 rounds of the fight. They HAVE to take "time off" and that is when Usyk can shine. I was being overly generous to Fury on purpose and still had to give everything to Usyk by a wide margin. We have been saying for years that Usyk will beat them all.

      The fight wasn't close at all. Fury only won rounds 4, 5, and 6. How is that close? Also, Usyk was never hurt badly. The only person who seemed hurt in that fight was Fury.
      Usyk, being a grandmaster, will also adjust in the rematch as he did later in the later rounds in the first fight and will be more brutal knowing Fury can be genuinely hurt.
      Fury, being younger, larger, and in peak condition for this fight, had the advantage of observing Usyk's previous bouts against AJ, Dubois, and Chisora. Despite this, he couldn't decipher Usyk's strategy, highlighting Usyk's brilliance.

    People here seem to not have watched the fight! Usyk dominated and beet up Fury from first round to last round! Knock out in the 9th, stopped by the referee. After that 10,11- Usyk was just keeping Fury alive intentionally in order to smash injure him the most possible without actually knocking him out. In the 12th Fury was just barely able to survive, making a but of a show. There are clauses and deals we dont know of: these bixers get paid more if it lasts all 12 rounds these days, they dont want a beging round knock out like Mike Tyson used to do! People get upset, they feel they dont get a show for the money they payed! We had a kinda old Larry Holmes, fat, out of shape man, fighting a Mike Tyson type boxer: but Usyk(Mike Tyson like) did a similar thing to what Mike Tyson did to Larry Holmes: knocked him out, but he (Usyk) made it worse for Fury. Even the commentators said it, he clearly could have knocked Fyry out again in the 10th and 11th rounds, but suddenly stopped, intemtionally letting the fat dude rest, so he could beet him up more, Usyk was having fun at the same time, taunting Fury. Usyk knew what he was doing, object was, get people to talk, get the remach, earn more money: I repeat: there are clauses, where you earn less if you knock the other guy out in earlier rounds, thet learnt that from the Mike Tyson era, the public feel cheated when the fight is quick, immagine all the hype etc, and Usyk knocks Fury out in the 1st round in Riyadh; Usyk could have done that! Last problem: guys like Fury take drugs to be able to handle the punches, thats why he looks so out of shape, its the effect of what he is taking, thats why he acted crazy the last day before the fight, he even mentioned it himself: the effecct on his body etc.... Usyk doesnt need drugs, he is a pro, well conditioned and prepared, if there is a rematch, Fury will certainly be smashed up even worse, if he survives til then(December)

      @@RussellStutely Tyson's body shots would have devastated Usyk. Mike would have beat him up on the inside. Usyk wears you down. But mike has the raw power to finish usyk in about 5 rounds. That is mike in his prime before Buster Douglas. Any hard puncher from the past would have beat Usyk. Joe Louis, Ken Norton and Sonny Liston to name a few. Rocky Marciano had power in both hands. Joe Frazier was a better inside fighter than Usyk. All the heavyweights Usyk fought never put many one-two combination punches together. Most of the fighters through one punch then retreated. I do think he was one of the best light heavyweights of all time. I think Holyfield would have knocked him out in the later rounds. He could not hurt Holyfield and Holyfield could fight for 20 rounds if he had to.
      Fury is overrated. He has a lot of body fat and does not really have a knockout punch. When he first started out his career he was a fighter with a good jab and could run around the ring. His footwork was sloppy against Usyk. He was tripping over his own feet when moving side to side.
      The only way to beat Usyk is to try to knock him out early. And use more stiff body shots. Not the looping body shots that he threw in this fight.
      Fury should retire.
