In this video I am unboxing and testing a Makita DLM330Z LXT 18V lawn mower on battery.
This lawn mower uses power from one 18V battery. In this case the battery and charger are not included, which is fine for me because I already have two batteries and a charger. My old batteries are from 5Ah and 4Ah capacity. Why did I mention the capacity of my batteries ? I have to mow around 270 square meter lawn. So the major question is, can this mower do the job ?
With one fully charged battery from 5Ah I finished 190 square meters. The rest of the job I finished with half of the 4Ah battery. Basically, I need two batteries to finish the 270 square meters area and Yes my batteries are old and I don't know the exact condition of them , but in my opinion these are in really good shape. During testing I tried to mow different sizes of grass. When I mowed regular sized grass I didn't feel any tension from a mower, but on a little taller it wasn't case. I finished my job also in a tall grass but I felt that my mower was struggling and my impression is if I continue mowing taller grass my mower will soon be in the garbage. My lawn is tidy . I left it in this condition just for testing.
Is it worth buying ?
If you have small sizes of lawn and you mow it on a regular basis, don't let the grass be taller than it should be, you have nice soft grass ( not a wild grass) Makita DLM300 can finish the job.

Ova kosilica koristi napon od jedne 18V baterije. U ovom slučaju baterija i punjač nisu uključeni u pakovanje, što je dobro za mene jer ja već imam dve baterije i punjač. Moje stare baterije su od 5Ah i 4Ah kapaciteta. Zašto sam pomenuo kapacitet mojih baterija ? Ja imam da kosim oko 270 metara kvadratnih travnjaka. Tako da je glavno pitanje, da li ova kosilica može da završi posao ?
Sa jednom potpuno napunjenom baterijom od 5Ah ja sam završio 190 metara kvadratih . Ostatak posla sam završio sa polovinom od 4Ah baterije. U suštini, meni je potrebno dve baterije da završim 270 metara kvadratnih površine i Da moje baterije su stare i ja ne znam njihovo tačno stanje, ali po mom mišljenju one su u veoma dobrom stanju. Tokom testiranja pokušao sam da kosim različite veličine trave. Kada sam kosio standardnu visinu trave nisam osetio nikakav otpor od kosačice, ali na malo višoj nije bio slučaj. Završio sam posao i na visokoj travi ali sam osetio da se kosilica guši i moj je utisak da ako nastavim da kosim visoku travu moja kosilica će uskoro biti u đubretu. Moj travnjak je uredan . Ostavio sam ga u ovom stanju samo zbog testiranja.
Da li je vredno kupovine ?
Ukoliko imate male površine travnjaka i kosite redovno, ne dozvoljavate travi da bude viša nego što bi trebalo, imate lepu meku travu ( ne divlju travu) Makita DLM300 završava posao.

I bought one and did my first cut today using a fully charged 6Ah. The grass collection is hopeless. It doesn’t even make it into the collector. Just clogs up and has to be cleared manually every 5m or so. And no, the grass wasn’t wet in the slightest. It’s going back.

Assume you have to go over all the ground twice because it doesn't cut properly on the 1st pass. Normally I walk over once and grass is done in one pass looks like it takes three times as long going forward and back

Thanks for the review. It looks strong but I can't hear it working because of the music however it was good that you wrote that you shouldn't let the grass be tall. I assume the Makita is a bit weak for the lawn shown in the video.

Hi, thanks for your great video! 👏🏼 I also have a small lawn like you, do you think the DLM330 is powerfull enough for most situations, or do you think it’s worth the extra € 40 to spend on the dual battery DLM382 ? 🙏🏼

Depends on lawn, but in any case , if I can to change I would definitely choose dual battery DLM382. € 40 is small amount , but you get lot better performance. My opinion is that is worth to invest extra € 40.

With the 5 A battery fully charged, how long can you use it? And what is the recommended area? Thanks

It depends from a lot factors (condition of a lawn, battery condition...). With my fully charge battery of 5A I can use mower around 45 min. It is best to use for 200-250 m2 lawns with tidy grass.
