A problem with this kind of videos is that many youngsters might be overwhelmed by all that "storage facility". It's nice to have all that stuff but let's face it: most of that gear sits unused and gathers dust for 90% of the time. Also its important to mention that its insanely expensive. But I digress. It's important to keep in mind that you don't need all those machines to make good or interesting tunes. Learn a DAW, maybe buy some good samples, invest if you can in a single analog desktop synth or/and a drum machine, learn to use em and you should be fine. Other than that, nice video; Ame really know their craft.
It‘s a bit like, you don‘t need a big record collection to play a good DJ set. True, but it‘s more fun and give you more options at least in theory. Probably more knowledge too.
I think its nice that he isn't dismissive of that approach, acknowledging that he does use samples and doesn't have an issue with soft synths. Would be easy to sit amongst all that gear and talk down on it!
He states at the start it is the gear of four people, not only that but these guys have been doing it for a while. +1 your advice for starting out but also would add getting a portable recorder like a Zoom H4n, mixing your own samples into a track is one of the quickest ways to get your own sound.
Not true. That studio is cleverly laid out and most of the pieces are surely used very often if not in every mix. Particularly the effects and processing pieces. The sources are indeed more like a collector thing - but then mind that many of them are “specialist” instruments that are picked just for one or two specific sounds, that they do better than anything else. I do not necessarily love Ame’s studio layout (everyone is different) - but I do not see much slack in it either and I cannot imagine it "gathering dust" that much.
mannn that is paradise... what would I give to spend a few days locked up in there .. so the new album from Ame is coming from this musical palace .. Can't wait !!
This is close to what I am working towards. A main mixer and have access to all hardware at all times to noodle and work out riffs rhythms and sound combinations. As well as be able to multi track record them through the mixer into my DAW (Ableton live)
If you think you can’t afford it, maybe you don’t want it enough. People like this guys just sacrifice EVERYTHING for their dream. That pays off and then eventually they get where they are now. Sometimes it is easy to call luck to what is really sacrifice. Get rid of all the slack and distractions if you want to do something at the top level.

Thanks! That's a nice oldie... A pity the portamento strip only works for a small set of sounds. Still quite ahead of its time (as all Yamaha organs of that decade were). Happy owner of an Electone E70 here (in the midst of heavily modding it :).
Telekom Electronic Beats I’m being sarcastic, obviously I know Ame make a lot of money from music, you don’t need to be in the billboard top 10 to do that.
You ever head of Avicii ? He only used a laptop and FL Studio with cracked plugins in the beginning, and he made some of his most successful hits including Levels with those.
He's passionate about music gear and he affords it, so why not let him have it ? Yes you can probably achieve the same output using only a laptop, quality plugins/software and decent monitoring but if I had money, I would convert all my plugin emulators to their hardware counterpart.
Ironie ist fehl am Platz. Manche sind halt nicht so perfekt in Englisch, dann wird untertitelt. Aber jeder der sich mit Englisch wohlfühlt spricht auch Englisch.
That's a sh*tload of top-end gear, though it must be disappointing to only have a CZ-101 and a CS-70 ... ;) Do they have any good music, to go with all that good gear?
Âme, Dixon, Henrik Schwarz and Innervisions represent some of the absolute best in electronic music over the last two decades. Endless quality, in production, in performance, in output, consistently excellent (without loving everything you can appreciate most of it as crafted examples of sonically sound, harmonically happy, structured compositions) noted generally for their musicality, simplicity/complexity, cross-cultural pollination, instrumental authenticity, tonal arrangements and warmth. I would've seen Dixon at least half a dozen times in many places (Melbourne, Berlin, Paris, Sao Paolo at least!) and he is quite simply 'the DJ's DJ' a consummate 4-5+ hour master; a semi-recent gig here in Melbourne attended by sooo many of the best local DJs it was like school crossed with sonic sensations. Ever see Henrik Schwarz live? Wow master of sonic manipulation, energy transferral...can get a room cooking in no time! Always used to record instrumentation separately to re-arrange, highly professional, always searching and moving to new ground. Also a lovely, humble and openly conversant chap, as is Dixon to whom my better half spoke to for hours at D Edge...you can be a freak musical genius, performance gun, run an awesome label AND be without pretensions and inflated ego - respect. There aren't many labels in EDM world where a 25 hour Berghain marathon excites and delivers in spades, over and over and over again hahaha (no photos there but they do serve cold milk all night and day :) ua-cam.com/video/hyVq--qZVEI/v-deo.html I'll share some links for you to hopefully enjoy @Kieren :)

@@vaoneee they perform ballet dances with Chopin's music, the fact that you cannot relate and compare the two types, it is because of the cocktail you take made of cocaine, opioids, mdmas, lsd while you dance with Ame's music. Only wish these were longer! Love these videos, thanks!
Dieses Studio ist einfach wunderschön.
The studio I've been dreaming of, actually exists
This studio is absolutely amazing.
Telekom, I really enjoy your high quality content so much! Beautiful workflow and studio Âme.
👍
Proper playground he has there 😍🔥🔥🔥
That studio has a lot of basic wood and veneer and that is cool! Love Âme’s music!
ganz praktisch sagen die deutschen (german's are rather practical, these guys are way more art than artifice!)
Good! We are very happy and proud for AME creativity and out of the box thinking!! Looking forward to Dream House!
Âme - rej❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I saw him or them in Ibiza a couple of years ago playing before solomun and they immediately caught my attention with how unique their music was

while synths and esp rack gear can lay dormant in a studio, they are still usable via midi if hooked up

Wow what a studio!
"THE SOUND IS NOT SUPER HIGH END"
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME LOL
those toft consoles actually do sound a little dull. you'll get a more 'hifi' sound out of a mixdown in logic. nice eqs though
Oh right

Always wondering if they built their studio by themselves. Looks like an insane job connecting everything.
Neat and organized, the perfect template.
Lovely studio that
cool workplace, Ame ad H. Scwartz are my top electronic music producers
Nice vid & what a room 😍I’d be dying to get in there everyday if that was mine!
What a studio! Not familiar with Âme but love the track in the second half of the video, track ID please?
Wow... just wow...
mikelo303 I know right?? 🤦♂️🤓🥰🤯🤩

A wild setup ♥
Ich will da mal nen tag chillen und Knöpfe drücken 😂👌

Fantastic video! Really inspiring :)
Very inspiring room.
sehr nice :)
Now thats an embarassing amount of expensive equipment
I just came here to see who is jealous and 'how-can-they-afford etc" :)
Thx for stopping by!
somebody was good at woodwork in high school
So who's ready for the release tomorrow? :)
No War FTW. Love the metallic snare and the atmosphere.
what kind of speaker does he use? i dont see
Backes & Müller
thank you!!
Hi, would it be possible to have a tech spec of the studio by any chance?
Guess that's a bit too intimate. You got a nice idea and overview already through the video.
What is the manufacturer of the wall material?
Custom made
2:55 = ENVY.
Okay... 5:45 and I'm REALLY envious 🙀
Prophet-5... PPG Wave... Yamaha DX7... MemoryMoog... 😻
he’s right about the sh-101. wish i had 6 of them. now then, what’s that mixer’s model name?
Toft ATB32

Go the Casio Cz1000 !!!!!

I see a complete SDS V drum brain in there too, noice.

so in the end he made another club song...
dekadent.
Can you do an episode with aphex twin please!!!!!!!
Just tell him to call us and we will
wouldn't be a surprise if it turned out that aphex doesn't own a phone.
😉
He would never do it. All these years building that mystique to throwaway on a youtube video? Neverdays!
What's the name of the first track on this video? Or is this a teaser of Dream House?
It‘s a song from the album. Be patient 😀
nice

That probably a schematic of a electronic circuit

"Dream House" is not Âme debut album, they're first album is called "Âme" and it was released in 2004 via Sonar Kollektiv.
That wasn‘t a proper album, more a collection / compilation of tracks they did.
most of the albuns are just like that, ;)a collection / compilation of tracks the artists did and they are considered albuns ;)

Build it yourself.
Ikea, ha ha
Just customize something from Ikea
It's the same one Ed Harris used in Truman Show. They got it there.
Wacom screens
what screen is that???
karl marx Looks like a norma LG monitor in custom case.
Overkill. This money with a few techno songs :) ¿
Maybe they make billboard top 10 hits that we don't know about
Did you miss something? How do you think most of the Techno DJs and live acts make their income? Surely not with selling records and downloads.

what does he mean with "the whole overtone and undertone structure"?

"Expensive gear isn't important" they said, "you just need a laptop and FL studio" they said... LOL good joke
Not a joke. Gear doesn't matter. You can make a banger on a laptop with FL.

Yes
What are their best 2 or 3 tracks, in you opinion?
Kieren Moore I'd say two of their best tracks are Mein Papagei hat Flöhe and Geiler Ron. Two excellent examples of Nouveau progressive.
Interesting track names but from who are they? 🧐
