The heat doesn't seem as relentless as I had imagined--the cool mornings and winds later in the day seem to really help. Yay! I'm totally enjoying your adventures, the cactus flowers and the horned toads.
We’ve been surprised. Don’t get me wrong, 75 with no shade IS hot. The Mojave will be brutal for about 200 miles, but it’ll be awhile before we get there.
Thank you for not molesting the Horned Lizard! So many PCT UA-camrs do that, and I wonder how if might affect them with thousands doing it. Great video!
And thanks Sunset, for the temperature reading at the beginning. I am always curious about such details, and others never seem to mention them, (bless them. ) 😊. I think knowing the temp and how the weather feels, sets the mood for what you all are feeling out there in Mother Nature. 👍
Not sure if you have gotten to Idyllwild yet, but you can get the PCT Tag at the ranger station at the park just outside of town. Or if you miss that, the ranger station in Aqua Dulce have them also. It's a cool tag to have.
Hey guys! Not sure where you are on the trail. Don “Atlas” Galyon is on the PCT somewhere. He’s a great guy if you meet him. Awesome to see y’all out there!
10:26 I don't think your late start had anything to do with you not being able to get your tag at the Southern Terminus. Another UA-camr who started plenty early couldn't find any one there to give him a tag either. He ended up getting his tag from the Vasquez Rocks Visitors Center. Maybe that location would work for you too. It's right on the trail. 👍
The pct looks beautiful! I love seeing the snakes and flowers
Cool caterpillars and fantastic views! And you keep seeing those toads. And rattlesnakes! Something for everyone.
Thanks for the close up of the flowers. Beautiful!

So great meeting you guys! Looking forward to following your adventure! - Mini
Great meeting you Mini! Thanks for shuttling us dirty hikers.
Awesome tree!! You are having the most epic adventure and enjoying all the details of your days hiking. Seems like you hardly have to care food at all
Thx! Yep for sure this first week lots of food options. Not so this week!
Congratulations y'all! I'm super excited to watch y'all on this epic journey.
Beautiful videos! ❤ Thank you!

Excellent video! It’s beautiful out there and you two are doing great!
❤
Glad to see the hike is going well. I enjoyed the videos of the snakes, with the rattling, and the scenery.
Hi Dale! Lots of snakes. And climbs. And blow downs. Etc.
Great job, guys! When you smile, I smile🙂
Aww. You weren’t smiling much today (day 11). Tough one. Town tomorrow though.
Beautiful camera shots guys! I am in awe of the two of you! Happy hiking!

We’ll try to mention more often :)
Scenery is incredible. Hum louder, Sunsets!
Lol
The sound of that rattle is so scary 😱
True
NICE TO SEE YOU WERE ABLE TO GET AN EARLY START
I was hoping you would get the free pie slice in Julian! My favorite town in Southern California
Simply wonderful place.
that snake! freaky... I'd be afraid they would come into your tent or youd step on them getting out

Thx - just got to Idyllwild and got our tags! Woot!
I did not like staying at a water source as you said it is very crowed. Love the videos and those views are amazing just like y’all. Happy Hiking
Moving right along! Any Poodle-Dog Bush yet?
Just saw some today climbing Apache.

We’ll keep an eye out.
I remember on your CT hike you went stoveless and seemed pretty happy with it. Are you doing that again on the PCT?
We brought a stove this time. We’ll see how it goes.
For me on the A.T., a nero was 5-6 miles. On the PCT it's 11? That'd be a lot of neros for me.
lol we were maybe a bit off in calling that a Nero. But, we were off trail by 9:30 so it seemed a short day.

Got ours at Ranger station in Idylwild.
Not a big fan of rattlesnakes. Looks like you are both settling in for the long haul. John from MI
Ready to walk :)
