The great Hugh Masakela … one of the Prides of Africa… Thank you for the joy your music continues to bring in my life. You were a God sent. Continue to rest in peace . This tune and Grazing in the grass are my all time favorites. !! Great song of Africa.. I salute you ❤
RIP. 🙏 Have loved this great African legend's music four decades and still going strong! A beautiful legacy and heritage from a trailblazer of African jazz. ❤
Can we take a few moments to acknowledge how beautiful his horn is?!!! It's too bad those Black children up front at the stage (mere inches from Baba Hugh) didn't realize they were in the presence of Afrikan musical royalty. There were witnessing an Afrikan unicorn genius and were bored. My Twin daughters at their ages would have attempted climb up on stage to dance with him... Me too!!! I got to see him perform/meet him in person and have dinner with him when he performed in Texas some years ago. He was such a welcoming, open, gifted and "regular" Blacktastique man!!! I sooooo luv to see him dance as much as I luv his music! Baba Hugh was/is so inspirational and precious!!!
I am 65 and remember the gentleman Mr Masekela performing at Rufaro Stadium Harare with Paul Simon, Miriam Makeba, Ray Phiri, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and host of other artists. 🇿🇼 salutes you
It was a great pleasure meeting Mr. Hugh Masekela in person when he performed in Trinidad with his full band. Also attending the breakfast meeting that was held at the Trinidad Hilton and his autograph.Great Memories of your warm hug. Sadly Missed.
Hugh Masekela was a legend, a pace setter in the use of both instrument and voice in expressions of South African jazz. A super fantastic artist unequalled in unique horn display and a showman par excellence. Quite inimitable.❤❤🎉😊😊
The greatest I’m so proud to be a South African African the meaning of this song is to be united, let people not discriminate you , it denounced violence of stabbing, it emphasised that we are all humans : lets unite ; blood has been shared for nothing, let’s all get mature and act responsibly: these days politicians are guided by twitter gossips but lose the fact that they are acting on behalf of real people human lives; I hope they all develop consciousness
