My taste in music was influenced by my father. Whenever we go out to groove with my siblings, we can't wait to go back home to play this kind of music... the only music we resonate with❤❤❤❤. Thank you dad for teaching us real music😍

Got ya beat by ah little. Listened to it for years. Like yourself, I'm an old man now. I've been blessed with the talent of playing the bass guitar, and hook this up many times, gab my bass, & play right along with them. I'll soon be 76 yrs old if I'm blessed to see that day. Love it.

Only 31 now, I was introduced to this song back in 2005, I was to play it in a solo competition playing the Flugal horn for the Cullinan Fieldband. My dad came to watch me rehearse, and that afternoon remains a key memory in my life.

When I first heard "Those Southern Knights" in the early to mid 70's, I went out a bought all their older albums too. It saddens me to know Joe Sample and Wilton are gone. Let's not forget Wayne and Stix who had their talent too. I was fortunate to see the Crusaders play live in the late 80's.

I can remember as a kid my father would love playing his Crusaders records. At the time I wasn't really into it, but as I got older both my brothers and I took a liking it. This cut "Way Back Home" has always stayed with me. So much that when I had a son I played it all the time and now it's a part of him, deep inside his soul. When ever he's sadden or down he plays this in order to help pick himself but up (as well as God himeself). R.I.P. Joe Sample you will be well missed my friend. Joe Sample was great,he also has a stint with Charles Lloyd after he heard him playing like a man possessed on his tenor sax.

It's such a great music, The Crusaders have been one of my favorites band for decades and I agree, the Japanese audience is so attentive and eager to listen to this type of music... Really a great combination.

My favorite Jazz band! Saw them in 2004; Wilton, Joe, Ray Parker Jr and some young guy on the Trombone. One of the best concerts I've ever witnessed. Oh, Randy Crawford stopped in and sang three songs. Her voice was amazing, sounded better than the recordings. That young guy on the Trombone, got three standing ovations. Love and miss them. RIP Joe, Wilton, Sticks, Wayne

I can't get enough of listening to such a very beautiful soulful song. Great job by Joe Sample, for I have missed his genius playing the piano. Wayne Henderson is great as always on trombone. Gerald Albright has been around and did a great job filling some really big shoes. I haven't shared this performance with one single person without having all of them saying nothing short of a beautiful song/cut. I kid you all not, I listen and watch this performance daily as it touches my soul and heart with joy. I mainly listen to it right before bedtime.
May you continue to rest in peace, brother Joe Sample...✌🏾✊🏾❤🙏🏾

My older brothers and sister put me on to jazz in the early 70's especially The Crusaders and I've been listening ever since. But once I found out some of them were members of my wonderful Fraternity Phi Beta Sigma I knew they were one of my favorites. Plus this cut is still 🔥 in 2023. May your memory live on forever as good music never dies 👏🏿🙏🏿💙🤍
