I live in Nanoose Bay and prefer to shop in Parksville whenever I can. It’s a beautiful little town with stunning views and awesome people. I am from Texas and I’ve been here 20+ years- I absolutely love it here. Well, except for Castreau, but otherwise it’s truly nice and laid back on Vancouver Island.

I was speaking to a couple from Parksville two weeks ago.... They moved away from the Island, and said they would never live there again, as the coastal, constant rain for extended periods of time was depressing, and unliveable.

Best coffee shop: Brazen Poppy is family owned and everything baked on premises. Great quality.
However, difficult to find a family doctor.

The ultimate best Nanaimo restaurant in my opinion is The Bold Knight. They do delicious steaks and seafood.

I just took the Hullo from Van to Nanaimo. With that transportation option, it really opens up possibilities.

Hi, excellent video. What do you think of Evergreen St Parksville? Does Parksville have a community center with a swimming pool? What's the restaurant situation there?

There is no hospital in Parksville, the closest hospital is in Nanaimo. There is an urgent care clinic in Parksville

As a Parksville resident who has used the emergency room multiple times in both nrgh and Parksville, Parksville’s urgent care clinic is much faster and can handle all but the most serious

For some reason, I need to wait a little while for UA-cam to fully upload the video before I can put the links in. Super annoying!!!

On those 6-storey wood framed condos you mentioned, are the installation of fire suppression sprinklers mandatory?

Lol, this place is so busy in the summer that you don't want to be anywhere near it. Not to mention, the homeless population problem is out of control there.

Interesting you speak of Victoria being 1.5 hours away, sorry it's more like 2 hours and that's on a good day.
More importantly YOU DO NEED WINTER TIRES HERE as the communities are all mostly highway driving and by law required.

So true, it usually took over 2 hours for us to get there from Victoria. Love the drive up there though.

    • @61chihugs

Properties overpriced. Homeless problems & increased crime. Personally, I would invest elsewhere. I lived in Parksville and now nearby community.
