What a brilliant film. Saw it last night and it really makes you frustrated with how bad the current state of the movies industry is especially with Scorsese’s comment about marvel. It’s easily one of the top 5 of the decade. De Niro, Pacino and Pesci in particular are all at their best here. It’s a melancholic, mature and thoughtful movie which is wonderfully acted.
Marty is correct about Marvel. THEY SUCK. No one will see them in 10 years. But everyone will return to Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Goodfellas and Raging Bull.
People are going to remember both because like it or not, Marvel movies strike a cord with people and are loved. Stop trying to make a silly competition out of everything.

It is so easy to watch a film these days, hey I wouldn't be so interested in them if it wasn't for streaming (or perhaps it would of took me longer to realize they are something more than time passers). Making a film too, easier than ever before! Think of all those potential Directors who just couldn't afford the equipment, so they just kept on puting it off or they just listened to the people that didn't believe in them. There are a lot of creative minds put to waste and I think there's more of an opportunity now if you have a realistic plan in place and you are not just going off luck. From this interview, when he did speak especially in the part about the emotional angle of the movie, he made a lot of sense

How fortuitous that the Netflix/theatrical distribution “strategy” was adopted for The Irishman. Those who wanted to were able to go to see it in a communal setting, and then that option was taken away by this pandemic and the closing of theaters.. And everybody was able to watch on their phones.

Is it me or do the filmmakers get asked really terrible questions in almost every Press Conferences. I just don't get it. Are these not professional reporters? They get one chance to ask a Q and its always something the filmmakers already mentioned/answered or something difficult to talk about.
