  • Some designs never go out of fashion and this Monterey 298 is absolutely one of these. Here we have a big, beautiful bow rider with so much curb appeal you'll find yourself day dreaming at the dock just looking at her.
If you want classic good looks and a boat the speaks to you in the way she drives, feels and sounds then this could be the boat for you!

As a current Monterey owner I can say this is a perfect boat for us on the Gulf side of Florida. Lots of room to lounge while anchored off the beach or sandbar and plenty of get up and go to get there quickly. I decided against a center console boat as was mentioned in the comment below. The biggest difference between a dual console, such as this Monterey, and a center console is creature comfort. Having that full windshield to keep your admiral warm and comfy during the ride back home after a day of boating is HUGE!
One thing I would suggest Monterey do is put a washdown at the bow to rinse down the anchor, a must for saltwater boating.

Hi Dan. Biker and Sportscar owner here. I drive an Alfa Romeo and have had about 30 sportbikes, mostly Italian. Let's put it this way, I bought a Suzuki Gixxer 1289 Turbo as an 19 year old, first tips from superyacht crewing. I do love sport boats, race boats too, but would never have a big open bow-rider. Take a greenie over the bow and that's half your flotation gone in a split second. The way the helm and side console are set-up doesn't leave room for rapid drainage like a center-console would. Okay, not everyone blasts around in lumpy waters but it does happen, mostly just when you really don't need it. We built 2 tenders for one of the big yachts, 30ft in ally with twin Cummins 450hp and outdrives. They had the option of being bow-riders or, put the metal cap over the front, sealed, and they became offshore usable.
