Congratulations on getting married. 🎉
What a surprise against France. Go Canada!
Thanks for your continuous contributions! Much appreciated
Firstly, congratulations on your marriage!
The addition and development of the youthful key players, Kone, Bombito, Cornelius along with the core group has made our side deeper and more solid across the board. This is what i believe our team could be when i watched our match against the usa in 2019.
I hope that we have more up and coming talent to add even more depth in the next year or so.
Liam Millar is a surprising hero to this system. Supports Davies really well on defence and also plays inside the channel making him more like an 8 in possession. Needs to start all 3 copa matches.
Really great to see Millar step up, but I still think Adekugbe is the better pairing if he's fit. Millar passed away the ball a little too often for my liking. Simply cannot do that at Copa. Obviously it was amazing to see him hit the cross bar on attack - not going to get that cutting in and shooting from Adekugbe, but Sam would be better at finding David imo with crosses. But yeah, almost surely we'll see Millar start, and it's well deserved.
Arguable
Millar is perfect ahead of Davies on the left. Millar has great technical skills. Davies needs to play left back , their have been thoughts of him moving into the midfield but that’s ridiculous
I agree, your not a former Liverpool academy grad for no reason
@@nickheron5923 For me, it's about the balance between defense and attack. Millar offers more on attack but Adekugbe offers a lot defensively, but then still brings a lot offensively (usually utilizing his speed and getting crosses in). I agree that it's debatable who's the better fit. Davies really stepped up defensively in these friendlies but there is some question about whether he'll provide enough when the competition is for real, and if he gets caught deep then I don't expect Millar to provide reliable defensive coverage. In other words, I think Davies/Millar leaves us very exposed on that left side whereas the coverage Adekugbe offers might allow us to have Davies taking a bit more risk offensively.
I love Davies playing left back. He can help with the build up more rather than playing a LM or LW role. Kone has so much potential
Imagine Davies marking Messi??? Could be a good idea but also could be bad because Messi will draw the attention and out smart Davies
Congrats on your nuptials! My primary observation was that in a midfield of Kante, Griezmann and Kammavinga, Kone was the best midfielder on the pitch!
Josh - big congrats on getting married. Such things are far more important than games and work. Work hard to keep that relationship the priority. Love truly is the most important thing in our lives. Blessings to you and yours!
hey Congrats! Go Canada!
I think Osorio kind of looked a bit off the pace when he came on. I was also kind of hoping to see Luc De Fougerolles at some point but I understand why he didnt play.
Really exciting to see if Marsch is able to grow things from here, but they're lack of goalscoring is really going to bite them if they don't start capitalizing on some of those chances they're creating.
It would have easily been 2-0 with the 2018 world champions with
H. Lloris
P. Pogba
A. Griezman
K. benzema
N. Golo Kante
K. Mbappe
R. Varane
b. Pavard
C. Tolisso
L. Hernandez
S. Umtiti🔥🔥🔥😎
Yoooo congrats on the marriage!!!
Congrats on getting Married! 🎉🎉 Also W video!
Kone is the new Atiba.
Congratulations! 🎉🎉
Congratulations you two!!!!!
EHHHHH Congrats Josh!!!
Congrats on the marriage, wish you the best of luck.
Congrats Josh! So happy for you. As for Larin, huge props to him but his pace isn’t up to March’s system. I think Ugbo would be the natural replacement but is Marsh likely to go that route or switch up to a 4-2-3-1 instead?
Sure doesn't seem likely he'll change the formation, which does boggle my mind. My guess is he doesn't have a 10 that he likes and the 4-2-3-1 requires that. But I don't understand why he wouldn't field a 4-1-4-1.
Or try Theo Bair
@@JoelER78 I guess I don't see that solving any problems. One of the big holes that became obvious against France was that when France held the ball on the right side of the pitch, Johnston would have to come way in central, leaving the left wide open. A quick, quality switch over to that side allowed Canada to be opened up. Seems to me that to defend the way Marsch is trying to we need an additional body in the middle. A 4-1-4-1 would do the trick of effectively getting 5 across the back when being pushed deep. I can only assume that Marsch feels its essential to the counter effectiveness to have 2 strikers up top.
Crépeau stood tall vs that shot my Mbappé (I think it was). He looked solid.
Congrats bro
Congratulations 🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations
They need to use just David and add a midfielder. Larin was great for us when we were at that point before, but larin as much I love him shouldn’t be starting together. David can drop back slightly like a false nine
grats josh
Honeymoon in Atlanta?
Congrats.
KONE IS READY FOR LIMELIGHT
Bravo's les canadiens first nations. ......
Everything was perfect against France except the finishing. Why must there be 2 strikers that can’t finish? Just have one
Congrats but wait, you married Producer T. ?
Am I the only one thinking Buchanan’s performances have dropped off. And, coincidentally, Junior Hoilett deserves a start.
I love Hoilett, but no way is he starting ahead of Buchanan. Buchanan made really good runs forward off the ball against Netherlands, which almost paid off very nicely. We're used to seeing him work magic on the ball, so it's easy to feel like he looked poor without that. I also think he was being careful. Starting against those giants after not playing for as long as he has been is a recipe for injury. I think we'll see him step when it's really necessary. Incidentally, I do think Hoilett deserves a start, but as a 10, and alongside Buchanan. But it's clear now that ain't going to happen.
@@greglawrence9230 Correct. I think Hoilett could come on as a sub, in the 10 position (maybe). Although, Osorio might be ahead of him in the depth chart.
@@JoelER78 When Osorio came on we didn't see the formation shift, though, so I don't see a 10 being played at Copa at any time. Very unfortunate, cause I think the likelihood of getting more out of David goes up quite a bit if he has a 10 behind him. The 4-2-3-1 is what's played at Lille where he's obviously thriving. I have to imagine Marsch simply doesn't like either Osorio or Hoilett for his pressing model (makes sense) and doesn't want to put Kone up there.
Congratulations on your Marriage!. Still no excuse to keep us waiting. 😂.
Canada gave you the honeymoon
Netherlands is #1
The only reason why canada had even a slight chance in the first half with the netherlands is because the netherlands had players, they never play playing
This is true...they started a B team (or mostly a B team)
congrats on getting married man!
France play to the level of their opposition. This doesn't mean anything.
¡Viva los novios!
So it's a good result, but let's be honest: France kind of coasted through most of the match as it was a friendly. There wasn't much intensity in their play, whereas Canada was playing full out. Can't disagree however that its a good confidence booster going into the match against Argentina.
As if they didn't care if they won in Bordeaux, where they haven't played in several years. 🤣Those guys are super competitive professionals. They don't take their foot off the gas for anybody. That's what's makes the team #2.
@@fumblerooskie They may have wanted to win, but they wanted to win easily. They weren't interested in a fight to win. Canada played well and that was just enough, plus some good fortune in Crepeau's goal-keeping, to squeeze out a tie. Canada worked very hard for it, but yes France did not have their foot on the accelerator. You can believe otherwise if you like...
In the dying minutes, when mbappe had his chance, you could see in the benches reaction how much they cared and wanted the win.. don't think for a second that frame didn't give their best effort. Foolish to think that.
Ill give you the argument that not playing MBappe from the start means as a team they went in to this game a bit lackadaisical for sure. But the guys who played from kick off absolutely did not coast from what I watched.
That said I'm also not naive to expect a result against Argentina based on 1 solid effort in a friendly 😂
