Erm... Bere do you know about the 1.9 update on the end? Some of the crystals will have iron bars around them but there is less and the dragon will be harder. Oh and End City

You do know that you can scoop up lava and put it into an empty block space and pour water next to it to make obsidian right? Just build a door using this method since you have iron for buckets.... no diamond needed...
