Since nobody else has done it yet, I'm gonna explain how you use tools. Swords- For fighting and breaking cobwebs only Pickaxes- For mining Using a tool in the wrong way (i.e. swords on wood like you were in this video) it breaks the tool faster and in some cases makes you destroy the block *slower*. Please use the proper tools for the proper jobs... its driving me crazy...
