If you come back to the Netherlands I would definitely recommend going to the Efteling. It's an amusement park all about fantasy and fairy tales. It's a magical experience and I'm sure your daughter will fall in love with it. There are rides for all ages, places to eat, lot's of nature and the entire park is themed. There are live performances, characters walking around the park and music. There is even an area called the fairy tale forest, where you walk through different little areas with little houses and buildings belonging to snow white (the book version, not disney), little red riding hood, hansel and gretel and more. I do recommend going for at least two days, because there is just so much to see. You can stay at a nearby b&b for budget, spend a bit more for a wooden house in a little "village" attached to the park or if you splurge a little they have 2 themed hotels right next to the park. I'm glad you had a good time here in the Netherlands and wish your family all the luck, health and happiness on your journeys.
Thanks so much for your comment!! Efteling sounds like something we would love! 🫶 We wish we would have known about it when we first went honestly. But next time 😊
Holland promotion at its best. These were all great Holland things outside Amsterdam. And there is even more in the Netherlands outside Holland. Frisia, hilly Limburg with white asparagus, coastal Zeeland. Nederland is klein, maar fijn!
@@OurStorytoTell That doesn't surprise me at all. The Netherlands has a lot to offer. To tourists but also to its citizens. If only because the proficiency in English is amazing! Makes communication much easier than expected.
13:10- Those windmills have been a boon to the Netherlands because without them most of the land would have stayed marshy deltas and estuaries or been underwater entirely but the beaches look fun but likely would have had more swimmers besides Tanner in warmer weather! I wonder if any Dutch might have thought you were from Canada instead of Utah for your determination to swim in those chilly waters. Thanks for sharing this!
It’s actually not a shirt, but called a “car seat cover” in the states! It’s quite normal and people also use them for a nursing cover if they feel the need to. A big shirt would work too though. 😊 Thanks for watching!
The Netherlands have many beautiful citys.... Amsterdam and Den Haag are not my top favorites, but Delft, Leiden and Maastricht are among those and the stunning mixture of Rotterdam which was heavily destroyed in WW2. I love the beaches of Zandvoort and Oudenaarde and the sights of Zeeland. Those are my fovorites
When visiting Rotterdam, I guess taking a (long) site-seeing tour on the Spido is a must. You'll be shown the harbour of Rotterdam as well as the Maasland Kering, a swiveling dam to protect Rotterdam and it's Harbours. Nice too to visit is Hotel New York which is located near the quay from where thousands of people emigrated to the USA, Canada and Australia. And close to that is SS Rotterdam an old Passenger steamer that sailed between Rotterdam and New York in it's hay-days.
Delft and its region are my favorite in the Netherlands. Also the city of Maastricht as far as city go, and the Friesland islands for nature and sea. Awesome video btw, it' s good to see other things than Amsterdam and the beautiful sand beaches of this country!
Thats lovley you were here in the Netherlands 😊 trying all our lovey yummy Foods . Sprookjes wonderland Enkhuizen, Madurodam miniatuur park den haag, Attractions park slagharen Nemo science museum Amsterdam its fun. Beekse bergen safaripark .Erfteling attractions park,Linnaeushof these are some of the place i use to take our sons ( in their younger years ) they loved them . You both love the village of Giethoorn ( mini venice) look them up . Stroopwafels are my uk family’s favorite among other dutch treats i take back when i am home for a visit Great video Hope your all doing well 😊 Have a Good week 🥰
Utrecht is the city where Miffy (Nijntje) is born. So thats interesting for the kids. There is "De Zuiderzeemuseum" and "De Opeluchtmuseum". Two places to see how the Netherlands was in the past. Maastricht is a very nice city to go. And you must eat the famous Bossche Bol in Den Bosch. There is where the real ones are made. Groningen is a fun place to be, and also Rotterdam. Gouda is the cheese city you need to go, but same goes for Alkmaar.
When we were children we often spent our holidays at the coast of Oostkapelle, rented a bungalow for our stays. If you didn't try Vanilla Vla as offered in many supermarkets, then I'd encourage you to do so. We loved that, besides Chocolate Vla.
Frohe Pfingsten/Happy Pentecost There's an old hit from 1961, the song is called Tulips from Amsterdam/Tulpen aus Amsterdam, it's really beautifully song, you really have to give it a listen. If you like great landscapes, untouched nature and windmills of all shapes, types and sizes and don't want to drive quite that far, there are plenty to see in the German state of Brandenburg. The small town of Oranienburg north of Berlin is very connected to the Dutch royal house of Oranien-Nassau/Oranje-Nassau. there is Oranienburg Palace there, and there is of course also huge connection to The Hague/Den Haag. From time to time the royal family comes to visit. The whole historical story is very interesting.
Hello Risa, Willa, Noa and Tanner. Sorry Tanner, Ladies first. Well, you are doing well discovering the Netherlands and try to see most of it. I have to send a link of this video to a former singaporean workmate who is addicted to tulips. Wow, so many different colours where in my garden are just 3. Great to see you and Willa had happy days. Hope your plannings for your northern trip are still on track. CU
omg your children are so cute and adorable :) "that cheese was stinky" hahahahah! I love how straightforward children are :) Im glad to see you have a happy and memorable time in my little country! best wishes :)
May have already been pointed out... but haring is not raw. It is 'gekaakt' which is a process of salting and fermentation in the enzymes released by the pancreas (which is not removed when the freshly caught fish is initially gutted, but only when you buy them from a stall where they 'freshly' clean it. Most fish shops do that at an earlier stage, though)
1:38 "I am sitting here next to a pond next to the Mauritshuis." But little did he know he was sitting on opposite side of the water facing the window of the Tower "Het torrentje". The "Oval office" of our Prime Minister. :)
I you want to go to a beach and your not in Zeeland, noord or south Holland there also a lot of beaches at IJsselmeer and the randmeren. Also most big rivers have lakes and side arms with beaches. Please be careful at all beaches, it’s not the same as a swimmingpool or small lake and the reddingsbrigade is not everywhere on watch. Enjoy the Dutch beaches and stay save.
The 'sausage' you ate isn't a sausage at all. It's a pressed meat stick, made from 'separator meat'. Akin to a chicken nugget. Try a artisan 'rookworst' and you'll get that snap.
Whatever you been told by the Dutch or even the dutch fish vendor, the haring as presented is not raw; the haring is fermented with salt (raw might be more challenging for some, i'm sorry but its not true
im sorry but that thumbnail and the first 20 seconds i see u walking through the tulip fields and plz just DONT DO THAT CAUSE ITS ACTUALLY OTHER PEOPLE'S PAYCHECK UR RUINING THERE. but hey as long as u have fun who cares about other ppl.

A large shirt over the stroller is such a good idea! Awesome video!

Thanks! It’s actually a car seat cover, but it does look like an oversized shirt!

So beautiful!!!! My wife and i love ur videos. You have a very beautiful and positive family. We appreciate you guys. #California
Aww thanks for watching all the way from California!! We actually lived in Orange County for one summer when we first got married :)
Have you been to Efteling. A familie themapark (NOT like Disney) in the South of the Netherlands.
No but it sounds like we need to!! 😊
I can recommend that. My best friend is dutch and she visits Efteling very often 😀
Thanks for the trip. That was so enjoyable and beautifully photgraphed!

I like that Risas scrunchie looks the same as Noas blanket 😄
You are very observant! not planned, just coincidence! Thanks for watching :)
The palace is not where the king and queen live. It's more or less a working palace. Great to see some non-Amsterdam coverage.
Yes, they actually live in Huis ten Bosch, which (to me, at least), looks a bit more like the house of a King and Queen 😊.
Thanks for watching and for letting us know. 😊

Ahh you should’ve tried the frikandel with mayo/curry/onions, that’s the real Dutch way of eating them.
Yeah we didn’t know! Next time :)
Frikandel Spezial 👌🏻

Nice 👍

Hmm seems you missed the market. That's a shame as it is the biggest in Europe
Where was the market? In Rotterdam?
My birth country 🇳🇱
We really loved our time there!!

Normally we would have thought that too, but since we talked with the owners of the tulip fields and they gave us permission to, we think it’s ok 😉
@sacred live You're not wrong but if you'd watched the video they mention it, so the tone is uncalled for.
