Cavehill Trail Belfast 👣 Irish Day Hikes

The Cavehill Trail is a gorgeous looped hike that you can get to from the heart of Belfast city.
The route I followed was the waymarked route around Cavehill, was about 7.5km long, and almost exclusively on trails or paths. There was maybe 200 metres on a lane through a housing estate, and everything else was paths through forests or trails on the hill.

Ah this looks magical! Sometimes the misty rain can absolutely make a hike, where your sightline is just short enough to keep the trail a surprise as you wind your way through. The shot at 2:02 is a beautiful example.

As I got further through the trail and it went from early to “normal” morning time, I met more people on the trail. Which played out that I’d walk away from the camera and disappear into the mist, and then come back, and the camera would reappear with some very confused people standing beside it, looking around for the owner 😂

Yeah on a good day the views are great all round. You can see the Mournes, the Sperrins, Slemish and Ballyboley forest
