You have to love Keith don’t you, it was his blind Canadian groupie who testified in his trial for heroin possession, enough to give him a long sentence but he didn’t say she was blind he says faraway eyes, isn’t that the most poetic thing ever?
At the risk of aging myself ,saw them do this one - a great performance of it - in Lexington, KY in the summer of '78. Mick played piano. Ian Stewart played piano on some other songs, and....he played drums before the set to help out the soundboard guys. Kind of a surreal moment.
Thanks dude, most appreciated.Fascinating how some 70's rockers were able to do country tunes like Eagles, Neil Young, Elton John, the Stones etc and make it appealing to a different audience.
I was listening to this on Amazon Music, and I picked up my guitar, started trying to figure it without ther capo, and I thought it has to be in F, well I don't know anything about music theory but I pulled up a picture of the circle of 5ths, and figured OK well, then it's gotta be B flat and C along with....but then I thought Hey! wonder if James James has it on one of his videos...sure enough! You DO. Can't thank you enough James!
This song just won't leave me alone lol, it is however hard to get my head around playing n singing ( narrating ) the verses, chorus simple enough, that slide really holds verses in my opinion, ha well, on with learning it : ) thank you so much for the tuition, appreciated ...
I found that ten dollars on Brundage in Bakersfield on the ground in the morning 🌄 😳 🙌 😎 😀 😬 🌄 and I was real happy and so l bought a half a gallon lemon 🍋 😀 😄 😉 😆 😅 ai

Shiny! Watching Mick and Keith trying to act county is a great comedy act.
And strangely the only "country" I listen to haha
better than "real" country today though
Thank you brother. For the 'Far Away Eyes'.😊
And here they are, the Greatest Rock-n-roll band in the world the "Rolling Stones"....huh? Love your vids. Love the Stones.
Very nice thanks for the videos. Love the acoustic Stones songs.
The Stones proved they could do Bakersfield with this one.
I think they proved it with Sweet Virginia. :)

Here it's more about Jagger vocals and Ron slides.
Hey wow I can actually play this one! Lol
I could be wrong, but I think I hear an electric doing some add-ons for B flat and C at around "... if you're down on your luck...". Wdu think?
Georgia Florida line , Luke Bryan wut?
This is stone country boys...
Hey Stones fans
George Davies p
Here we are.
👋👋
Didn't Keiff use a Tele on this one? Marvelous.
Hmm. I don't hear a Tele on this one.
You're right. I think I let myself be carried away by the oficial video and the live versión in "Shine a light", I guess.
:D
did Ronnie do pedal steel?
I believe he did, yeah.
Can it be played in open G Keith loves using it, and it can be a pain retuning every other Stones tune
YES
For the non-capo people like me, I never use capo. It's F, Bb and C. That's all folks, that's all.
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!
