Vick Auto told me that it doesn't matter which side of the gasket faces the block.
WE DIDNT GET TO HEAR IT
I did not get this exhaust because of the O2 location. A very nice exhaust with no thought in the bung location in my opinion. Who wants to see a bolted up bung when you put it back where it should be. I do like the header down pipe connection better than AR's which is a PIA. This should turn a nice gold color and be very pretty, get your grimmy finger prints wiped off.
Sure would have been nice to listen to what it sounds like.
Always following this step by step... I'll need it when I'll get my engine back from the workshop..
Only Fiat would use springs and rubber to hold up exhaust, lol. Looks great!
your spider makes me anxious I can't wait to start my 1969 124 sport Coupe"
how far should the header insert into the twin pipe? Had a devil of a time just getting it in. Cheers.
Dude those jack stands are MAXED OUT! 😱 Ask Vick’s to hook you up!
Excellent video my friend. My stainless exh sys just arrived, however I'm not exactly sold on that allen key clamp welded to the downpipe, I've been told that some people experience a small exhaust leak from that connection and ended up removing the allen key clamps and replaced them with the band clamps and voila! no more leaks, have you heard about doing something of this nature? Thanks in advance.
Looks amazing dude.
So shiny!
how did you fit the down pipe to the header mine doesn't fit
Is there a video to hear it?
Did your downpipe slide easily on to your headers? I have the same system but I’m having a lot of trouble getting the downpipe on the headers. It just won’t slide on.
Did you have any heat issues with the headers in the engine compartment.
dose it need the springs to hold it up?
Mmmm….I think you gotta tell the Vick’s Auto guys not to go cheap on you. They should have supplied you with a couple of SS clamps to join the pipes…look at Eldest Builds episode: those are the ones they should have sent you. Other than that, car is coming along great!
stainless steel band clamps are easier on your nice new pipes than U clamps.l
It appears that this ss exhaust system is no longer available. Too bad.....
