Agreed! Reminds me a lot of my Grandpa who passed when my daughter was an infant. My Grandpa woke up every single morning asking for my daughter & couldn't wait for my Grandma to bring him over to see her! It was the sweetest most heartwarming memory I have of him🥹🩵 You are amazing with your Dad Dan!❤
I agree Dan is such a good son it makes me happy to see him so committed to helping/caring for his father. Ed is a sweet man always concerned about his kids or wife.
Even when he is confused or his memories are fading, he always remains pleasant. Your relationship is a testament to the good person he was and still is and you are testament to the good parenting you received!
He's so sweet. Poor guy, he's forgotten. My mom had her brains until the last year before she died. She was 90 when we lost her to dementia. I'm glad you treat your father well.
Dan, Ed is just adorable. Thank you for sharing this journey. My loved one is in early stage and this helps me understand this disease better. Your dad makes me smile too! He just just precious.
I read the comments, and they come from all over the world. This man, Dr. Ed is just getting more popular by the day. Thanks and blessings to the Salinger family. 😊😊😊❤❤❤.
@edinsyracause , well said! South Africa 🇿🇦 has been following Dr. Ed Salinger and his wonderful son Dan as well as Danielle, for a while now! S.A is represented as well. Grandpa of the Universe he is ❤🎉😊
She is blessed to have lived her 80 years in times worth living. I am 33 and I can't imagine what this earth will look like in 50 years, lord give me strength.
Bless you. My mom was 85 when she started getting bad with dementia. It's very hard to watch your loved one's decline. My sweet momma has gone on to heaven now. I miss her so bad, but not the mom that had dementia she was so pitiful. My prayers are with you. 🙏❤
Oh my goodness. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM. Please continue this. It’s so enjoyable to watch and the patience you show him is fantastic. I know it is not easy all of the time…..I have been there myself with my dear mother but at the end of the day it is so worth it……..Your dad is awesome and so are you and your dear wife, who we don’t have to meet to know it…KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Dan and the rest of Ed’s kids, just to let to all know that you are doing an awesome job with your father. I am learning a lot from you all as my mother and mother-in law has the same medical issue as your father. So, by watch you folks, it allows me to be a better care giver to both of these parents. Thank you, all. Have a good up coming week!
It’s interesting how he’s lucid enough to know he’d be in trouble if he wasn’t with his son and family because he can’t remember things and he knows something’s wrong and I like how you explain it as normal aging, so he doesn’t worry about it
When he says " as long as I make you laugh and not cry..." 🤣😭 Thats clear thinking there. And where he says " that's good, I'm glad, I'd be in big trouble if I wasn't" (living here with you) that made me smile such a big smile. What a sweet, sweet man. Can't get enough of Dr. Ed.
This makes me cry and feel good so good at the same time. God bless you and your family! I miss my parents so much. My Baba was the love of my life. Hope we will meet again..
I just love your dad and the coffee talks the two of you share with us. Thank you for sharing your precious dad with us, Dan, and the love and care you, Danielle, and the family shows him every day. You have so many memories here that I know you will cherish forever. ❤️
Dr Ed appreciates his son Lawyer Dan so much! He wants to know where his wife and companion is? He loves his family so much, so sweet and kind; ❣️ Good job Dan! 💕🎉😊
Thanks for sharing your sad with us. My dad just passed on, we dealt with memory issues, but these videos are gems when our dad's pass on. I think it's great that you and your family are taking your parents in. It's the best thing ever! ❤❤
My dad is 86 and has had dementia about five years. Last year my parents moved to a senior community and into independent living. Tomorrow he moves across the parking lot from the cottage where’s he’s has been living with my mom and will enter the memory care building. Thankfully my brother lives nearby and helps my mom and dad with all their business. My dad is so full of joy yet he is getting so confused.😞
@@lorraineleschinsky8616 💜 I'm sorry to read your note. Hope you have many long days to spend with your mom. Enjoy every moment one day at a time. ((Huggs))
Coffee talks, walks and sitting together are quantity time spend with your Dad Dan. May God's Blessings showers down on your family today, tomorow and always. Lots of love from South Africa ❤
You can tell he was a good person in life. He is such a pleasant and respectful person. Remind me of my mom. She stayed with me for nearly 5 years with this same disease. All she ever wanted to do and did was praise the Lord and show Love. The Bible tells us to guard your heart because out of the heart comes the issues. of life. She and your dad truly exemplified the Love of God. Enjoy your time with him. We truly did with my mom. Your Alabama facebook family.
Dear Dan I just love your dad so much, as I work with patients with Alzheimer's I so much appreciate the good job you are doing. Love Stavroula from Greece
Dan, your videos are excellent. Back in the 80s, my grandma (mom's mom) came to live with us, due to her dementia (which runs in the family) and inability to take care of herself. My dad has since passed away and I'm living with mom, taking care of her house and property. Your example of patience and gentle responses to repeated questions is wonderful. I am going to emulate your approach as mom gets older and try to make her every day a good one. It's also beneficial to be able to observe your dad's behavior in order to get an even clearer picture of what I might have to deal with someday. Ed's quite the character! What a pleasant human being.
I lost my mom a few years back we took care of her for 6 years with dementia and like your Dad she was always pleasant and grateful. We miss her . Your family is wonderful in watching over him ♥️
This is a wonderful conversation between father and son. You are amazing Dan .Dad is something else . He blows my mind off and I burst out with laughter.❤❤❤❤❤. He is a darling
Dads with you full time now, cool! Youre blessed to have family support Dan. I didnt & couldnt continue as a single Mom, I had a silent breakdown in 2021, still trying to recover. My heart aches that I cant have Dad here any longer. Your Dad always reminds me of mine. Now that hes in a home, my siblings stepped up. Were working on getting him to a wonderful assisted living home with memory care 🙏🏻 I know I will be at peace then.
You have really preserved the essence of your dad by your daily conversation. It is a beautiful part of your daily routine. So grounding and lovely to share.
92 years of memories…. I pray it is the happy memories he can retrieve… Dan you are an exceptional man. Thanks for your patience with your precious father.
I love watching Ed! My pop lived to be 91 and had a great memory. I wish Ed did too. But he is sweet and he does care about you all. Bye Ed and Dan and Danielle! You guys do a wonderful job with him!
I loved this. It’s so sweet hearing your conversations. Dan, it’s clear you adore your Dad, and he feels the same way about you, even in his dementia. He has memories of ‘young Daniel’. So that reminds him of his love for you. You help him so very much. ❤❤🇦🇺
Ed is just like my dad every time I see him, he asks if he has enough money! Then I show him his account! Until the next time, then we do it all again! 😊 my dad is 97
Ed is a gem. He's a sweety🫠💕. He's well taken care of, Dan's a very good son to his dad, and Ed is happy😃. This makes me happy in my heart ❤️

Not really. Ed and Joanne separated when Dan was only ten years old and Dan said that he barely ever even saw his dad after that for several years.
Grandma lived to 89 years old and this is her quote she said everday, "Tomorrow's another day, God willing and the creek don't rise."
