- It is not known when the castle and original estate was created but first notice of ownership is from year 1363. First notice about Frýdštejn castle is from 1383.
In the year 1432 the castle was besieged by hussites but currecnt owner made an agreement and later joined the husites.
Till the end of the 16th century castle estates were being sold one by one and castle lost his defence functionality and was abandoned.
Due to small space in castle the many small halls well cut in stone inside the castle some of them were still in use after castle was barren.
Castle was opened to public in the 90s and recently there are many preseration work to keep castle standing in its current state.
