Colourblind Man Finally Sees His Bright Green Car For The First Time

Martyn Lewis owns a bright lime green sports car but has never truly appreciated the colour due to being colour blind, until he tried Enchroma glasses.
The glasses allowed Martyn to see vibrant colours much more clearly rather than his dulled vision which he has had for his entire life.
But the Sheffield, UK, resident was surprised when his wife Kelly, brought the glasses for him for his birthday on June 8th.
Initially, Martyn had an emotional experience trying on the glasses for the first time in his house, as he admired the green grass and the blue sky causing some tears to shed.

She was laughing from happiness. My mom cries when she gets surprised (a gift, an unexpected family member visits from out of town, etc), and its hard to surprise her. We laugh because then we know she is surprised and happy.
If you were a northerner then you'd understand. They laugh all day at anything 😂
Everybody is reacting differently. Don't judge her: she knew he was crying out of happiness, infinitely better than remaining unmoved.

@@Mike-ox8sq Crying is the body's way of getting rid of stress and emotional pain and has nothing to do with manliness. Men are maybe taught to keep it in and is likely a contributing factor to our early demise.
Had a similar emotional reaction when I got my first pair of glasses and saw the world in focus for the first time! 😉

This is the first honest person I’ve heard. People say “is that what you see?” And everyone just says “yes” when they have no idea what the person is seeing. He asked the question and she said “I don’t know.” Its much more scientifically honest. And I love that they’re both taking turns laughing hysterically. I love their sense of humor.
Well, there are videos where the person just asks someone with regular vision to put the glasses on (cause they can't believe it), and someone does, and there's no difference whatsoever. So, I guess, technically, that is what we see :)

What a gift for people that cannot see color these glasses have done… So many people including my ex-husband have no idea what color is how blessed we are to know for those of us who can see it and how blessed those are who get these glasses the gift of color is amazing the creators of Enchroma must be so proud

Awesome I had the same effect when I put my glasses on, one of my Mustangs is red my son's car and I actually told my wife in the video that if I saw this car with the glasses on I would told him not to buy it. Obviously I don't see Reds very well the car was bright red, with my glasses I'm allowed to see bright colors otherwise without the glasses everything's dull glad you had a good experience.

For most colorblind people, the little car hanging on the wall and the big car both have the exact same color: the one of the small car. I'd bet that he bought the small one thinking it was the very same color.
(I'm not colorblind myself but I'm sometimes using a Android app to simulate it for professional purposes, as an IT specialist, to check the UI's I'm developing for colorblind people)
This is the equivalent of us stepping onto another planet. Or similar when you watch the movie Avatar.
