I had a debate with her on FB once and she offered to meet me, so I accepted. In all honesty, we actually got on well and she was not quite the radical nutter that I was expecting. That said, we still did not agree on the drag storytime for kids. There seemed to be a blankness in her regarding the problem with it. Later Sunita and I had an interview with Bryan Vickery and that also went well, but again...we never did get to the bottom of exactly why drag queens want to read stories to kids? I said, there are so many other superhero costumes or non costumed ways to teach kids about bullying. Other than this we had a fair bit of common ground. I didn't consider her the typical woke person. She told me she agree with Christian principles, morals etc and that she was herself a straight Woman. When I asked her how many genders there were, she said 2, rather than a spectrum of them. I'm sure I'd still get on fine with her, if I met her again. I also tried to explain that most people, including Conservatives/Libertarians etc are fine with consenting adults and their choices. It's the kids where the line is drawn and if she and those like her keep this up, then she will alienate herself. That's the opposite of what she seems to want. I myself am quite accepting of many things, but I harden when they start grooming the kids. Esp small kids. I won't accept it and I'm not homophobic or a far right winger because of it.

I listened to the interview yesterday, and I agree, Sunita came across nicely but I don't agree with Drag's reading to children, and I agree with your comment Justyburger. I lived and worked on KRoad, the heart of "alternative" people, and I consider myself accepting...However, I actually believe it is purely business - there's money to be made with her organisation if she can get funding from the Education Department and Councils in NZ - she's on to something that might be lucrative for business - a steady income from Government bodies, and it's not about what's best for children. So for this reason, I feel Sunita could be disingenuous?
