I've used the Extra Coarse Pumice Gel before for a painting final. It was really fun to work with. I love how this video shows the differences in each gel produces different effects using the same techniques. You guys are the best!
@Odenkay Thanks for the comment. Well, not sure if that was the main point but it is certainly one of the uses of Pumice Gels we wanted to highlight. Hopefully you found the video helpful.
I recently bought a jar of fine pumice gel and I'm loving it! I love building it up in layers and etching into it. It makes for a great painting surface.
@deviantfelicity Thanks for the compliments!! We will try to continue showing more and more of these things over time, so keep an eye out and make sure to subscribe.
im building a background enclosure for my reptile, im wondering if its safe for my pet as he will be staying there for most of his time. He doesnt bite objects but tends to lick it. And that can it withstand heat as it would be around 100 ferenhite thanks so much this would be a life saver
That is an exceptional question! I suggest you contact help@goldenpaints.com - they are not herpetologists, but they know paint and will research and get an answer for you. You're on the right track by checking the safety for your pet before exposing it to any possible hazards.
Yes, it is archival. However, like all painting media, acrylics are susceptible to change over time. If you want to read more about this, check out this article written by Mark Golden in 2010: www.justpaint.org/defining-the-acrylic-patina/
Hello Soona, I would not recommend attempting to sand either Coarse or Extra-Coase Pumice Gels as the pumice particles are likely to be more coarse than most sandpaper you might use and it will probably result in fouling the dry pumice gel surface with bits of the grit and paper from your sand paper.
@@GoldenPaints Thank you for your kind response. Are there other materials than sand paper would you recommend ? Diamond hand polishing pads, or rub bricks ? I really need this kind of surface texturizing medium but also a surface that is polished..
@nanogirl A lot of our Gels and Pastes make interesting grounds, so always worth experimenting. Glad you found this interesting. For so additional ideas you might try going to this page on our website: goldenpaints(dot)com/artist/acrylicgrnds(dot)php Thanks!

These videos are so helpful. I'm just now learning to use your gels and other "additives" to your paint series.

@caliclips And we LOVE that you do!!!
Hi, this is very interesting, thank you for sharing. I have a question !: are coarse and extra coarse pumice gel sandable ?
