Welcome to the MK2 club Dom 🎉and agree with the comments made, MK1 still has a place but the MK2 is the next step re TT ownership as do think they are easier to drive, easier to work on and a great drive 😃
Thank you, I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a while as prices are very similar between some mk1 & mk2 models. I’m looking forward to putting some miles into it and seeing what it’s like
It was when I see this parked on your drive a few weeks ago I was like 😮 be very interesting to see how much you enjoy this. I can’t get over the road tax😭
I have a 3.2 '08 manual mk2 and I am very glad that you bought this and that you will upload content of it! Waiting for it!!! PD: If for some reason you plan selling the tts front bumper here I am!
Monochrome mk2 😬, gotta respect the more upmarket drive I suppose but will do stick to my mk1. Thanks for keeping us all TT content full 😉 nice vid mate cheers👍🏼
Got a mk2 3.2 roadster back in May while my Mk1 was off the road. There a very nice drive and vr sound is addictive not as much feedback in steering as the Mk1 but still drives nice. Was also caught out on the tax as I'd looked a 3.2 dsg coupes which are the same to tax as the Mk1 and assumed the roadster was the same. The auto lights, wipers, folding mirrors is a rare option on these, in fact a lot of what you would think should be standard were options on the MK2. Mk2 section on the TT Forum has loads of information and active users always there to help out with questions.
I am only really interested in mk1 content but can't deny that this is a nice motor. I can see why you went for it. I wonder if there are any images of the damage on Car Vertical. Might even be worth looking to see if you can get them to sponsor one of your next videos. Hope you have a good time with the new motor.
Its still a TT, I see no issue. Spoke to a guy with a mk2 and he had alot of valid points wht he chose the mk2 over the mk1. Either way, still an awesome car and any content you are willing to offer, I'm willing to watch. Keep up the great work 👍
Great video mate. Looks a tidy car for the money. Got similar steering wheel surround to mine:) I have considered a mk2 to be honest but maybe when take my mk1 off road for some works:)
great looking car and love the interior, but you have depressed me . Was thinking of getting a 3.2 roadster next, but you have put a spanner in the works lol. Like you didn't, I don't never think of checking road tax when i get a car as in my head road tax is the same for all cars(I am alot older than you) and all my cars are 90's. So hearing £70+ p/m as killed my dream of turbo'ing a 3.2 😥😥
My MK1 is in the higher tax category, I didn't do my research when I bought it. 🤦♂️Must be one of a very few Mk1s falling in that tax hike bracket. Good vid, they do say the variety is the spice of life!
Ooo no! Is yours a 2006? When I was speaking to Chris with the king fisher TT with the plate 32TT his was one of the last off the production line which put him into the hike also. He only taxes it for 6 months a year as doesn’t get used much during the winter. Can’t blame him specially when my insurance is half the price of the tax 😂
Well Dom...... I've owned all mk's of the TT , so thourghly looking forward to future content, never seen a black baseball interior, worth it just for that 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one Dom, be interesting to see the content on this Dom, wouldn’t want one myself, but then again, with 2 MK1’s and a MK3 TTS, I really can’t justify a MK2 as well… 😂 What would be interesting is to know what the differences actually are between a MK1 and MK2 (apart from the obvious bodywork) and what bits (If any) are interchangeable. Cheers
That mk1 vs mk2 is to be filmed soon 😊. See you skipped a step and went straight for the mk3. I can’t fault you there. I was looking at both mk2 rs and mk3 tts as similar pricing but 2 very different cars
I'm on my 3rd MK2, TTS after having a normal 2.0 and a TTRS too. it's a proper "car" I've had 4 mk1s and they're iconic but you're spot on Dom, the MK2 is a nicer place to be and more reliable than the MK1.
Can’t fault you, I was very much of the same opinion but they have grown on me quite some! Will always have a mk1 as of course they are the icon that started the following
@ you are definitely more open minded than me! Perhaps I will soften up over time. The mk1 are very “un” Audi with such smooth lines which were whipped away in later versions.
3k pounds is super cheap here in the usa you couldnt get that car for under like $10k usd if its a tts unless the mileage is super high like 200,000 miles
not a fan of the weird headlights on this era of Audi. the the Q7 from this era is also bad. B7 also have weird headlights. they swoop weird or something. C6 ain't so hot either. all those have the giant bad looking grill too. that is a great price though and i'd probably do the same!
I know what you mean, there is some dull generic features of it but the lines are still there and from angles looks great. It’s all the creature comforts that do it for me, all those things you get used to when driving new cars that you don’t have in the Mk1
@@TheParrottBros ;) Dom, I would watch you even if youd have bought Dacia Duster :D. Dont you worry my mate. As 3.2 MK1 Owner. Do a timing chain asap. Its quite an easy job for a v6, not such a pain as other Audis, but the plastic tensioners tend to get brittle with years.
i want a mk3 tts or ttrs my mk1 only has 94k mileage but would like to keep it lower miles and its getting older i want something modern like mk7 golf r or mk3 tts i cant afford ttrs unless i want to be broke lol
That’s the issue isn’t it, trade off of money / time. Work loads to pay for a car you want but can’t enjoy. Have time off to enjoy car but can’t afford expensive one. The mk1 is and always will be and icon the longer you own it the better it will get.
@@TheParrottBros yes my mk1 the interior is all genuine real leather and genuine high quality materials and i love that about the mk1 225 stage 1. I know most of the modern cars are fake cheap materials they are doing that to everything making it as expensive as possible while making it as cheaply as possible. those two things dont mix, if im paying top dollar i expect high quality materials. Im thinking im ending up with either golf R mk7.5 used go for about 25-30k usd and mk3 tts is about the same price range here in usa. they seem to be a lot more plentiful and cheaper on your side of the pond.
@ both very solid options and tuning etc is quite well documented. Yes they are quite a popular car and you’ll see them on the road almost guaranteed daily
The best TT channel on youtube. Cheers from Cyprus!! Hope you enjoy the new TT 8J! It looks veeeery pretty!!
That’s very kind of you mate, appreciate the support and look forward to knocking out plenty more content 😎
Congrats on the new ride, I love how it looks, always glad when you drop a new video, you've been immensely helpful!
Thanks mate it’s really appreciated 😍

They are growing on me, But I will resist🤣 I look forward to seeing your progress
Haha thanks mate, next time we meet I won’t offer you a test drive then
@@TheParrottBros hahahahaha it might be too modern and complicated for me to grasp🤣
Got to say the same. They are growing on me too, but I'm still loyal to my mapped 265bhp Mk1 lol 🤣
I was literally thinking about making a video of my 3.2, i have a black 08 hardtop, there is hardly anything out there on the mk2 3.2, i love this!
Awesome mate! I would have preferred a coupe but at the price I was never gonna say no 😂
This car looks great for the price, and I too have been pondering added the mk 2 to the collection. Looking forward to the new content..

Welcome to the switch over mate 😍😂. Cracking looking TT bud 👌

Mate! I love it! Colour combo is spot on and a bargain price to boot!
Thanks mate 😎
Be waiting for this to happen , That mk2 looks cool, it looks newer than it is think it's got face lift headlights along with the rs spoiler and rims
Monochrome mk2 😬, gotta respect the more upmarket drive I suppose but will do stick to my mk1. Thanks for keeping us all TT content full 😉 nice vid mate cheers👍🏼
