This lens is clearly in the philosophy of mirrorless. I've one and I use it only on my A7 to bring a light setup. Not enough resolution on the R3, but that's normal. All in all a smart lens, thanks for your review !
How is this lens compared with the Sony 28mm f2 ? I use a7lll but I don't find nothing cheaper in wide angle like 20/24/28 so I'm interested because I do video so af it's importante already have 55mm 1.8 from zeiss
@@jeremydavis1267 nothing yet ! So I still using my 18-35 1.8 from sigma that is apsc not bad but can be better on the a6500 looks so sharp but in a7lll it's not enough .
I have seen the opinions of the plastic lens mount. I took a sharp knife to mine and it is definitely metal. Soft metal, but metal. Otherwise spot on review.
I'm not sure whether to buy this lens or the sigma 30mm for my sony a6300 for a short film. It's for one shot, and I like the 30mm but the 24mm gives me more freedom so I can crop it later. Which do you recommend? Which do you think has the best auto-focus? Thank you!
Can you do a Tamron 20mm F/2.8 vs Samyang 18mm F/2.8? There is no comparison out there and I don't know which wide angle to buy. Thanks for all your comparisons!
I have this lens for my A7riii and the sharpness is terrible, seriously thinking of swapping it for the Tamron 24mm which is slightly bigger but sharper
This lens overall seems to be mediocre. I have yet to hear anything stellar about it. If I have the Canon 24mm 2.8 would you recommend just adapting that one?
May be cost 2 dollars more to put a metal mount on this lens, and they can charge us 10 dollars more for this lens....anyway I will stay way from it.....
Small but mighty!

Hello sir samyang 85 mm f1. 4 and sony a6400 camera review please😫🙏🙏💓
The 85mm is amazing but with the crop factor it's pretty long focal length.
Great review man! Samyang has some good lenes. Love the size of this one👌
Sweet, thanks for the review!!!
What’s better this or the Tamron??
Great little lens
It's awesome they put this quality into a lens that weighs 93 grams. Too bad it's 325 USD here, in Hungary.
I recently got one on the used market for about $150 which, to me, is an unbeatable value for a full frame lens!
Nice review buddy. Have both 35 and 24mm samyangs and I’d say you pretty much nailed it!
Have you missed that Tamron have released a 24 f/2.8?
Focus is tooooo noisy for video on the Tamron
@@jadben With the Tammy prime being that big it should've been F2 instead of F2.8
Compared with the tamron 24mm f2.8 wich one its mora fast autofocus, thanks great video.
Do I need to make firmware updates?
Good for the price
Can you show Movie in low light please ? , I use mostly lowlight movies, Thanks
which one best for vlog this one or sony 28f2 pls reply
Would you suggest this 24mm lens over the Samyang 35mm ? Which is the sharpest and most versatile for travel photography?
The 35 is a better lens but depends on what you're personal preference is.

I’m in the same exact situation as you. Did you end up buying the Sony 28mm f2 or this Samyang 24mm f2.8 lens?

I did the same thing, mine was definitely plastic. Hmm
@@StefanMalloch not sure what to make of that. The new af lens have cheap metal mounts. Cheers.

Both are going to be fine for you.. just personal preference.
I know this is from 2 years ago but I'm currently in the same situation as you haha, which did you end up getting?
@@foxesrule9037 Hey there! I end up buying the 24mm :)
@@dominguesana97 I’ll probably end up doing the same. Thanks!
Great video - thanks Stefan! 👌
As I understood, Samyang 24 mm 2.8 has no manual focus mode? Or can I switch it on on the camera itself maybe?
In camera.

I can try if get my hands on the Tam!
@@StefanMalloch thanks! I think Samyang vs Tamron is a great Mortal Kombat battle! Finish Him!

being surprised by the lack of sharpness of a 250$ lens mounted on a 42MP 3000$ camera..................................
7:23 Great video. Will definitely come back for the next. When is it coming out? Thumbs up 👍
Nice review. Bought One 🙂
Gorgeous review. ;)

Can't say adapted stuff is my favorite but if it works for you..
Your lens most likely was decentererd. Samyang/Rokinon are infamous for this fault.
Your brick wall is not squared to the camera.
Or are you not square to your monitor? 😜

the specs are in metric
the video should be too
