I actually went on the self-guided tour last Saturday! It rained on me the whole time, but the campus was still gorgeous. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, especially bc it's not far removed from downtown. Unlike other universities that are in big cities, it really felt like the campus was close to downtown and rlly connected to Houston (even though it's in a more touristy area). Plus, the trees are beautiful--and all that shade! It almost felt like some little rainforest utopia in the middle of Houston lol. I even saw a lot of students playing volleyball in the rain; they seem to be a resilient bunch. I don't know if you got the chance to see the new social sciences building, but it is gorgeous! I was too scared to go in, but the exterior itself is just so modern and sleek and the walkway is very picturesque. My aunt and I also remarked about all the outdoor seating pace--we really hope they keep it! I agree, it was definitely 100x better to see in person. I'm so glad I went, and I'll probably be committing soon!
Haha I actually visited last Saturday as well, we may have passed by each other! But yeah I totally agree, the campus can’t be beat and the people are incredible
You visited a lot of elite universities. It cost us too much to go to those places you mentioned. We live in Shiprock, New Mexico. My daughter is thinking of those universities also. Yes, Rice is a beautiful school.
Yes, I was very fortunate enough to be able to visit many universities and I’m sorry you’re unable to do so. But hopefully this video helped you see a bit of rices campus! I also have a cinematic tour video that may be of interest to you: ua-cam.com/video/-vnJtoLbtqc/v-deo.html
@@ahk1225 I actually did already commit somewhere a couple days ago, but I won’t be revealing my decision until my next video in which I discuss my top three choices (hopefully that video will come out by this weekend :))
