- A few notes......never let the bolt slam forward with the barrel removed.....you may damage the bolt/takedown catch.....and anytime the bolt closes on a loaded mag, or round in the chamber, the gun will fire......has a fixed firing pin
Thank you so much for this video! I was thinking of selling my E1 due to the reports of full-auto issues, but seeing how simple it is to take apart for cleaning I have no worries any more! It will stay in my collection and hopefully terminate many a gopher for years to come.
Good film. I own Gevarms and the E1 is a fine piece of simple but very effective engineering. Only problem with these rifles is the cost of genuine mags. In my country the elusive mags go for big money and the sought after 20 shot can go for as high as $600 (more than twice the typical price of a rifle in good condition).
Great video, thanks for the info on the takedown!
@villafuego Interestingly, under New Zealand firearms laws the 20 shot mag is considered a "Military Semi-automatic Assault Rifle" component requiring the owner to have a more stringent firearms licence that allows for the ownership of that class of gun. Following a massacre in 1990 any mag that holds more than 15 rounds is classified as such under this law. Effectively, that means, quite apart from the ability to modify Gevarms, the use of a 20 round mag turns the rifle into a MSSA.
Awesome video!! Much appreciated! Can recommend a part's supplier for springs and such? My Gevarm doesn't hit the case hard enough to fire and eject. Please help. Sincerely Theo South Africa
@MoaSize I was lucky enough to get an 8 and a 20rd mag for my E-1. The aftermarket 8 and 15 rd mags made by Triple-K work well also....but they are a little "snug" in my A-3 model and took a little fitting to get 100%
Thanks for this video and advices ! I have the same and it's been useful ;)
Sir I have the same gun but I think it might have a problem because I can’t connect the barrel to the receiver please let me know what I should do thanks.
i have one Gevarms .22 rifle but the problem is that some one has done some alteration is it and it is full auto but i want to do it semi auto as original one so please can some one guide what should i check to make it semi auto again
what about the plunger with spring inside?
is this weapon compatible with modern accessories? .22 calibre semi automatic rifles are illegal here in Australia because i originally wanted a Ruger 1022 but as far as i know theres a licenced store selling a second hand Gevarm E1 but it looks a bit aged. can anyone please help me out?
Florida.....
How to remove the cartridges If there is no extractor
gas pressure blows the case out of the chamber.....it's pressed against the bolt face and ejected when it hits the (L) feed lip on the magazine......works well. On blowback firearms the extractor serves more to hold the case in position for ejection than actually extract it from the chamber
Thank you very much, I understand that the cartridge comes out when it hits the charger's lip? I have bought an equal but I have not yet had a chance to try it and I do not know very well how this mechanism works. Thank you very much for answering so quickly. Sorry for my English
hi I have a gevarm 22 take down rifle was considering selling it was wondering if someone could me a value on it or where I could get one / Canada
how does the bolt face extract the rounds?
It doesn't. Being an open bolt rifle, they are ejected from the chamber when the blowback drives the bolt open. Only locked breech rifles need an extractor.
