For example, in my many years experience as a makeup artist, if you were to apply a powder highlighter (liquid would be … slightly different) over even the lightest of crows feet for example, the texture would be exaggerated greatly and more obvious. So it advised to not apply those kind of product over that kind of texture. I'm of the generation of Touche Eclat which was basically a liquid under eye highlighter/concealer. Now a days I use a reflective primer before concealer. It definitely helps the blur from light.
I am also the touché eclat generation 😂 and for sure the liquid products that brighten … not really blur but brands like to say they do, can make thing appear smoother because unlike powder highlighters they don’t contain glitter or “shimmers”! Be careful of skin primers around the eyes though if it’s not specifically made for that area, you could get Milia.
I still own all the original naked palettes. They’re in immaculate condition. Barely used so I won’t throw them away. This actually made me not afraid to use them again. Will start using them this week… I’ve been doing the highlighter trick under my eyes for a while now. It’s true. The glow hides any lines or darkness.
I try to follow expiration dates on makeup. A dirty little secret 🙊... I used the same Milani bronzer for a couple years longer than it said on the compact and it still looked just as good and it didn't irritate my super sensitive skin. 😊😊😊
4:02 with aloe vera staright from the plant, PLEASE soak it to extract the latex (which is basically poisonous to humans and just at minimum an irritant).
the trouble I thought with using old eyeshadow pallets the colours wouldn't be as pigmented as when you purchased them tbh I've decluttered all my old pallets just to be careful xx
I admit I still have what is left of my very most favorite lipstick from the early 80's in my collection. It was from Coty and the color was Freshest Raspberry. It was the most beautiful hot fuchsia pink that really popped with my fair complexion and dark red hair. I don't wear it anymore of course but I just can't throw it out. I've never been able to find another color quite like it.
The highlight tip under eye might work not on every under eye area. I can use multiple eye creams that contains highlighting mica and everyone of those looks pretty nice. My friend on the other looks really crappy using any of those. The light reflect entirely different and her under eye area looks even more hollow, when in my case it give this soft blur effect. I have small wrinkles and somehow every eye concealer will always accentuate them, but eye cream with mica is always a hit.
In regards to the highlighter lady, I think it's best to use an illuminator. Powder is more likely to enhance texture. I'm 41 and I have some fine lines and sun damage. I don't wear foundation or concealer (sometimes I'll cover a red spot.) I simply use Revlon skin lights on my cheeks and undereyes, and I use a very light layer of the elf halo glow setting powder to keep my mascara from transferring. I don't like powder highlight. ❤
I fully use expired makeup lmao I have a lot of it because I don't wear makeup every day. I go through it regularly and throw out anything that's turned, and some stuff that I'm iffy about I'll test on my arms and see if it causes a reaction, though I tend to throw it away anyway just for peace of mind. I've been fairly lucky so far. I think that's 100% down to how I look after my makeup - I clean everything, I clean brushes regularly, and whatever can survive a little bit of 70% isopropyl alcohol spritzed on it gets it semi-regularly. It's all kept together in a cool dark place in my bedroom, not like the bathroom where it can get really humid and hot. And also just common sense in sniffing things before I put them on, and remembering the smell and texture when it's new and mentally comparing it. Also buying minis instead of full sizes when they're available. I really don't think it's that hard to keep makeup safely for a long time. Like, I have OCD and severe anxiety especially surrounding contamination and mould and stuff. I also have sensitive skin and acne issues. I am the type of person who definitely won't let food get used after the use by date. But makeup is different for some reason, I think because it's not being ingested (I mean, obviously some of it is, but you're not getting food poisoning from an expired lipstick) and it's easier to clean and keep nice than like a loaf of bread. Also I'm poor and there's no way I could afford to replace all the makeup I love and use every time it hits the expiration date lmao I cannot justify that. I'm going to make the makeup last as long as possible, especially the expensive stuff. Testers stay on my hands exclusively, then I wipe it off before I leave and use antibac after. I know who has been using my own makeup and that I don't use lipstick when I've got a coldsore or eyeshadow when I have a stye...but other people are *nasty* I'm not putting that anywhere near my actual face. It's only on my hand as long as it needs to be, after that I'm done and the OCD kicks in and tells me I can still feel it all on my hands until I wash them enough. And then public toilets are gross so more antibac after. haha not haha. edit: I'm technically legally blind without glasses (I am not saying I am legally blind because I have glasses that work. If my glasses didn't work/without glasses, I meet the requirements in the UK for visual impairment. I always have to add this when I talk about it because there's always one person who um actuallys me) and I basically always put on blush without looking! It's really not difficult. It's part of the reason why I like cream blushes so much - I like a good pop of colour, but they also blends really seamlessly into my skin even without me being able to see it. I've had a more difficult time with powder and liquid depending on the formula because they don't always blend in as easily without me squinting in a magnifying mirror. Cream, though, just use a finger and a little bit of time and it's fine! Good enough that when I put my glasses on again I don't notice it looking bad at least idk lmao
This eye look remind me of a peacock, GORGEOUS! I got out my original Naked palettes the past couple weeks. I sprayed them down with alcohol and then meticulously wiped them down with tissues and Q.tips before use. They still work great with no problems. Some of my old lipsticks were growing mold, those got tossed out quickly. Um, eww LOL! That highlighter trick under the eyes is a no from me. It will accentuate every line and make me look old AF.
The last hack was by far the best! It not only made your skin look flawless, but also really crisped the eye makeup and made it pop! Gotta try this! 😍❤
Creamy, oily and fluid makeup such as lipsticks, lipglosses, foundations can become curdled and smell and look bad, however I have 30 years + old powder blushes still going strong. And an YSL purple and pink eyeshadow palette from the 80s which I still use.

I have used the last tip for under eye conciler with a damp pad with setting spray for several years, instead of setting powder I use a tiny bit of highlighter
The best highlight for under the eyes....in my opinion...is the Laura Gella baked highlighter in "French Vanilla" .... just use what is left on your brush 🖌️ after applying highlight to the cheeks. It always works for me. I know more recently Laura tends to market towards over 40 but don't be put off by that...I am under 40 and have used her highlighter and blushes since i was 18 and continue to use them today. I will confess i do use my eyeshadow palettes probably longer than i should (I just decluttered a couple actually) but i do think they last longer than the dates on the packaging. It always seems a shame to throw away all that product. As long as they are still blending well and there is no "off" smell should be fine. Throw away eventually though. Clean brushes and hands is key! 💜💋 Foundation and mascara etc I always throw away once expired.
That is a great idea! Maybe even put both your concealer and foundation side by side on the back of your hand and compare if both are going to match up

As someone who is still using her expired eyeshadows from 2020(yes i started makeup very recently) , i saw the title and I'm here. 😂😂 hi, dear Robert ❤ hope you have a good day ahead it's 1 am in my country and i was practicing my mathematics for my upcoming exams and now I'm here.😂
How do you do that? My expired Eyeshadows started to make my eyes so itchy i had to scarpe them out of the palette and throw them away
I spritz mine with alcohol.@@luciagianquitto4010
@@luciagianquitto4010 keep them clean. use alcohol for everything. Wash with soap everything, brushes, sponges. Spray them with alcohol after they are dry. Clean hands, clean face.
@@victoredwardo9485 i Will do It for my next palette.
@@luciagianquitto4010 hi there, although i use expired eyeshadows it still isn't too told since I'm very new to makeup and started doing it during covid when we were all in locked down in our houses and it never caused me any problem yet. But i hope you sanitize it or just throw it away since it irritates your eyes.❤
I have never been this early! The last truck is definitely something I’ll have to try. Also the eye look today is like a peacock 🦚🦚🦚🦚
Oh my God, another hypnotizing eye look! ❤
RIP to the blendiful and Tati Beauty! I loved that puff and it was ahead of its time!
The Stan’s out puff is really similar! Even Tati talked about it and said so in one of her more recent videos!
I would love to see a video going more in depth into makeup expiration and maybe testing bacteria levels of different products!
Your skin looks like a doll's with that damp puff concealer hack!
I do my make up maybe once every two weeks but I still enjoy the content ! Now I want to try that concealer trick 😍
I gasped when I saw your eye look in this video. Absolutely stunning 🥰🫶
I just got a new Touche Eclat I love that thing
ohh so interesting, what would be considered a reflective primer?
@@under_N_over_it I use Nyx Born to glow
@@riccandjen thank you!
The eye look today babe. STUNNING.
Okay this eye look you have on is STUNNING 😍😍😍
Reminds me of a gorgeous peacock 🦚🦚🦚🦚💙💙💙💙💚💚💚💚💚
Your makeup is so beautiful in this video! I was genuinely stunned when the video started!!
the trouble I thought with using old eyeshadow pallets the colours wouldn't be as pigmented as when you purchased them tbh I've decluttered all my old pallets just to be careful xx
Robert your eyes! 💚💙🦚🤩 slay!!
I'm so happy you did the soaked puff one! I think I saw Sara test it, and I wasn't sure.
Ok, I'm sold. I need to try that damp puff with my concealer 😊
I was so emotionally invested in this that I said cheekbone when you asked what it was 😂. You’re captivating
Omfg!! Robert! Your eyes, are the perfect Jiki eyes, for a particular character concept of mine. I knew I'd see it perfectly executed by you.
I've tried that last hack but without water just setting spray. It works like a charm!
Thank you for your teaching - every time I watch you - no matter what the topic I learn something !!
I’m going to try that concealer technique with the damp puff.
14:13 Tati’s blendful! 😭😭😭 I held onto it for the longest cuz it was truly amaaazing! Until the seams came off and I had to part ways 😹
The Stan’s out puff is really similar! Even Tati talked about it and said so in one of her more recent videos!
That last hack with the puff made your under eyes look so smooth!!
Creamy, oily and fluid makeup such as lipsticks, lipglosses, foundations can become curdled and smell and look bad, however I have 30 years + old powder blushes still going strong. And an YSL purple and pink eyeshadow palette from the 80s which I still use.
Loving the mermaid eyeshadow vibe 🧜♂️
Hi Robert! The blindfolded blush application is a "challenge" that comes with the Huda Beauty blush PR for influencers to show how easy it is to blend that you don't even need to see!!
Your eyes look so vibrant! I love those colours on you. Xx
Loved the bacteria test
Love this one! Love them all. Happy Sunday to all !
I just need to say that this eye look is fking flawless and amazing and i have never wanted a tutorial for any eye makeup look before in my life but i absolutely NEEEEEED to see how you did this beautiful peacock look.
That make up look is so beautiful on you Robert!
I know that in some cases you can use make up even if it expired but i just had to throw away my Nudes Of New York palette because IT WAS MAKING MY EYES ITCHY
Loved the last challenge!!!! Amazingly and Beautifully Done 👍✅❤😊Well Done for explaining each process. My favorite was the last one of course...Hope you, your family and everyone here has a Safe Blessed and Wonderful evening. Angela from eastern North Carolina but live in Colorado now 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
i love the highlighter under the eye, when i want to look not anemic i do that with my elf liquid highlighter thingy and it looks so beautiful
I might be trying that last under eye trick.
Foundation and mascara etc I always throw away once expired.
I need to try to replicate this eyeshadow look you're killing it here
I'm LOVING this eye look, Robert! It's giving glamorous peacock in the best of ways.
That is a great idea! Maybe even put both your concealer and foundation side by side on the back of your hand and compare if both are going to match up
I'm going to have to try that last hack/trick! I've got rough looking undereyes and that finish was soo nice!
that eye look is soooo gorgeous omg
Ok side note I need a tutorial for your eyeshadow! That look is beautiful! I miss the old UA-cam with makeup tutorials! ❤
I need this eye shadow tutorial - stunning 🦚
Dear @RobertWelsh I love your eye makeup, it’s hypnotising. If you ever consider making a tutorial, I’d love to see how you created this one. It’s stunning 😍
Im absolutely entranced by the eyeshadow look today!! Gagged and gooped its soooo pretty! Giving peacock 🦚
