    My laser keeps spinning the cups off when I hit start or frame but then slows to the speed I have set when it engraves, how do I get it to stop so it won’t mess up my engraving on cups?

    A step by step settings in lightburn would be great. I know alot of people have bought Omtech lasers lately and like me need a little extra help. I have the k40+ and regular roller and it throws the cup off every time. I want to upgrade to the Chuck rotary but apparently it doesn't fit on mine.

    Great video. Couple of questions, do you disconnect the rotary cable while the machine is on ? And when you disconnect it do you do.it while the machine is on ? When going back to regular, after plugging back y cable your settings Don't change right?

    • @omtechlaser
      @omtechlaser  3 роки тому +1

      Great questions!!
      Yes, you have to disable the rotary device and can do so through LightBurn. Then you will have to disconnect the rotary device and connect the regular Y-Axis connection back while the machine is on. Afterwards you will have to reset the machine. @omtechlaser I've watched this video many times. I have an OMTech 80w and have matched the steps in this video one for one. All of my settings are the same. It does not cut through my powder coating. And now, I just get Frame Slop. Any advice?

    I was watching another maker and they went to machine settings in lightburn and made changes prior to the rotary settings but I didn’t see you do that. Also they said some rotary machines the art needs to be mirrored first. I have this laser and your rotary. Are those things that need done and just wasn’t part of this tutorial?

    How do you make sure that rotary is centered with laser?

    • @omtechlaser
      @omtechlaser  2 роки тому

      Good question! You will have to place your rotary on the bed and position the laser head over the rotary and object. You will then have to select your starting point and track the frame to see if it appears centered. Hope this helps!

    I just bought the 50W laser from omtech. It is supposed to be here next week. What speed and power would you recommend me to start with when engraving tumblers? I was thinking 250mm/sec at 50% power before I finished watching the video. I noticed you go slower.

    • @omtechlaser
      @omtechlaser  3 роки тому

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out and choosing us as your laser provider! We're excited to have you become apart of the OMTech Community! In regards to your settings, we suggest trying our initial settings first. If the results are not the best, you can start reducing the speed. This will also depend on your wattage model, as higher wattage machines can engrave with higher speeds. @@omtechlaser I'm having trouble getting all of the powdercoating in my cuts with the 50W laser with some colors (red, gray so far black works well). I even bump the power up to 100% and move anywhere from 150 to 75mm/s and still have some small dots of powdercoating. I'm using 0.04mm LPI. Do you think it is something with the laser or just those color tumblers? The cut looks grayish white when done engraving and there will be bumps all over it. When I clean it off some spots look good but others don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    • @omtechlaser
      @omtechlaser  3 роки тому +3

      @@rogert5365 Hey there!! This can depend on the color coating and the quality of the tumbler. We suggest staying under 60% max power and reduce the speed. Furthermore, we suggest performing quick and small sample tests. Our specialist team does recommend setting the LPI at around .07-.09mm. For further assistance, feel free to reach our Technical Support Team at omtechlaser.com/pages/contact-us

    I just tried out my new rotary with the settings at 30 power. It is on a white tumbler and there is a yellow almost burn coloring around the lettering. Does that happen when the power is too high?

    • @omtechlaser
      @omtechlaser  3 роки тому

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out! There are different factors that can lead to discoloration including the material and quality of the material, beam alignment, and the speed/power of your settings. We suggest slightly decreasing the power and increase the speed
      . In some cases the tumblers will need to be cleaned after being processed. For more assistance or advice, please reach out to our Technical Support Team at omtechlaser.com/pages/contact-us

    I'm kind of wondering why OMTech bother doing any videos at all the couple I've seen have been pretty much useless for such a great product you need to do better. 1. You removed all form of bed from the device adjustable shelf now what's it sitting on? because it's still able to up and down. There's also no mention of how you aligned it to the X top rail. 2. you changed from normal to rotary does changing it back ruin the existing settings I've seen other videos show you how to backup existing setting so you don't ruin your old settings. 3. You've located the drive rollers on the part of the tumbler that has a thread on it I just cant imagine why you'd do that risking it walking up and down the thread. 4. You've centred the device but how there are no markings on the rotary device. 5. No mention at all of how your going to stop the project from walking up the drive train nothing stopping it from doing this. 6. If I was OMTech I'd have suggested settings for all my models for this process or should we just destroy 6 tumblers working it out. 7. No mention of Lightburn suggested settings for line interval distance either. As a business owner and CEO if your going to do something do it properly this is pretty useless.
